My Demon Queen
The drumming sounds of rain, the silent car radio and the low humming engine.
Besides teacher Glib in the driver seat there was another guy in the front seat. He looks oddly familiar somehow with his uniform. My opinion was that he has this aura of a soldier.
"I have no comments. Take care of Liliath but don't lose yourself. You're still underaged," teacher Glib said.
"Putting that aside, how are you, Liliath?"
"I'm fine thank you."
Yeah.. totally not. She's squeezing herself against the door. It's obvious she's avoiding me. Sigh.. so much for today's task.
"Liliath and Noel correct? Nice to meet you. I know it's the first time you've met me like this but I'll introduce myself first. My name is Sander, First Lieutenant Sander. I'm in charge of anything pertaining to school security and the safety of the students," a low booming voice of a male pervaded the surroundings.
Oh. That's why he's so familiar. He's the lieutenant that I saw last time at the assembly grounds.
"I've heard of the situation. And just to be clear, I'm not upholding you two for any wrong doings."
I think this is the correct way to reply?
"Liliath, I'll be expecting you to do your best next week."
"My best next week? My apologies but your statement is in relation to?"
"Next week there will be a demonstration. Monday. Students with potential to become a force for good in the country will be examined and chosen. I've heard that your abilities well surpass most humans, correct?"
"Though it may be so, it is ultimately my right to accept or deny the offer, that is?"
"Tsk. As the report states, you sure are one cunning lady. Yes, the decision will be left to the students. Though we would provide appropriate incentives to attract as many TALENTS as possible, for the sake of national security."
"I admire your patriotism sir."
"Hahaha. How cunning."
Scary conversation. Jee.
Though I wasn't able to see First Lieutenant Sander's face from here, I can tell from his voice that he's a pretty powerful figure.
Teacher Glib's car finally arrived at the school's underground parking lot. There wasn't a need for an umbrella.
"We'll meet again. Glad I got to know you two," getting out of the car, the lieutenant saluted us before walking off. Talk about tact.
Man-- the lieutenant is suave alright. Top that off with his uniform, in my words, he's got that sexy body kind of build. Which makes me curious what his TALENT was.
"Um. Teacher Glib. Thanks for the ride and is there any reason for it?"
"Yes. I want to talk to you two again about the matter yesterday," teacher Glib glanced at me and then at Liliath.
"My apologies teacher," Liliath lowered her head.
"It's alright. Follow me."
Ah great. How could I have forgotten? 3 unopened mails.
Sitting on the sofa in the counseling room, the smell of buckwheat tea in the air, I stared at the UI in front of me. Well, not just me but I set it so it's visible to everyone. That includes teacher Glib and the student council Prez, Elyja. And their expression when I explained to them about my TALENT came as a surprise. Especially Elyja.
But before that.
"I apologize for my conducts yesterday President," Liliath lowered her head and apologized.
"No, I'm also at fault here.. I shouldn't have force my opinions on you," Elyja replied, ending with a weird 'eheehe' for some reason.
"Do you feel any sort of discomfort around me?"
"To explain it briefly, it's an effect that I accidentally applied to people in my surroundings. You've heard of bloodlust?"
"The actual thing?" Elyja looked super stoked. Like a person in disbelief who had touched the realm of isekai. She's a fan of that genre too? Oh, nice to know.
"Liliath, so your abilities, or magic is separate from Noel's TALENT?" Glib wanted to confirm our previous explanation.
"That is correct."
"Besides that, can you specify the maximum degree of damage you could do in one go?"
"Uh.. is that something you're supposed to record?"
I mean.. why? You're absolutely going to regret asking this question.
Liliath ponder a bit before saying.
"If I take the approximate size of the entire school-- I suppose I could obliterate it with a single spell-- I'm sorry."
Yeah. Like I said. A bad question to ask.
Elyja tried to distance herself after hearing that from Liliath, sinking herself further into the sofa. Teacher Glib heaved out a sigh and seemed to be pondering deeply about something.
"You're responsible if anything like that happens, got that?"
"I'll make sure to avoid that conclusion," Liliath said in conjuncture.
Hm. This seriously feels weird. Liliath sounds more.. how should I put it-- normal? Yes. She's actually thinking and acting like a normal human girl now. Yes. The effect is super obvious because of how she's also currently sitting at the far edge of the sofa. Damn it.
Sacrifice one thing for another.
"Right. I have to continue explaining my TALENT. Um, as you can see.."
I spun the UI around to show them the gacha function and the daily quest function. To be expected..
"Noel, remember to control yourself."
"Wait. So you're saying this TALENT of yours allows you to summon more girls like LIliath using points you get off doing these things with her? T-That.." Elyja had a silly-dead smile on her face.
HAHA.. FUCK ME.
"Trust me. don't plan on spinning the gacha.. ever. Look, I haven't even used these points yet."
Yes. Not ever. I'm taking the no harem route. For sure.. wait. Then there's that Bleu I need to resolve. Fuck how should I deal with this? Speaking of which, how exactly can I get into contact with her again?
"And, besides the gacha function, I can also use the points to buy items.. yeah please don't let this leak out to the public.."
Yup. I've resolved myself to say this but to my surprise..
"Come again?" Elyja turned her ears towards me.
"Sorry, I didn't get that," teacher Glib asked me to repeat.
"There's a shop function."
"I didn't get you? What are you trying to say?"
"What Noel is saying is that it is possible to spend the points on acquiring items," Liliath tried to supplement her own explanation.
"I still don't get what you're saying."
Teacher Glib showed us a rare expression of tilting her head.
"Uh. I also have a mail function."
"A mail function?"
Wait? So they're not registering the fact that I have a shop? Is this what this is?
"Yeah.. wait, I haven't read it myself."
"Is it possible that I see the contents?"
"Yeah. I actually wanted to read it with Liliath but I didn't get the chance till now."
Or rather. I forgot.
Thank you for your patience and I once again would like to apologize for the long awaited update. A compensation of 2000 points will be paid out.
