“… I think I’m in love with you, Koyanagi-chan.”

What’s this feeling? I feel like my heart is about to jump out of my chest. Does that mean I’m in love with Hasegawa-kun like he thinks he’s in love with me? Is that love?

With all these thoughts racing in her head, Makaira is not sure of what to say in response.

Before she could form an answer, Yuuto says, “You don’t have to give me an answer right now. I’m sorry I kind of put you on the spot tonight. I just really wanted to get that off my chest.”

Makaira nods but doesn’t break her eye contact with Yuuto like she would usually. Instead, she makes up her mind.

“I think I’m in love with you, too.” she says.

Yuuto takes a few seconds to process what Makaira said before his mouth spreads into a smile. He puts his hands on his face trying to stop himself from smiling but fails miserably.

“I can’t stop smiling.” he chuckles, shaking his head at himself. “You have no idea how happy I am right now.”

Makaira laughs with him. “I’m happy, too.”

The two smile at each other and Yuuto slowly takes Makaira’s hand in his.

“Remember the day I asked you whether you’re happy?”

Makaira nods.

“Well, on that day, I promised myself that I would be the one to make you happy.”

Makaira smiles at Yuuto’s dorkiness, “Well, mission accomplished… Yuuto-kun."

Yuuto blushes and covers his face immediately, “Ah… You make me shy, Makaira-chan.” he peaks at Makaira with his hands on face and smirks secretly.

Not expecting a response like that, Makaira blushes bright red and mutters a ‘shut up’.

“For the record, you make me happy, too. Even before you were my girlfriend.” Yuuto says, then covers his mouth. “We’re dating now… Right?”

Makaira blushes at the term but nods.

“It’s getting late, but I have one last question for you, girlfriend.” Yuuto says, smirking.

Makaira subtledly rolls her eyes, “Shoot.”

“Are you happy?”

Oh, you have no idea how happy I am now.

“I am happy. Very happy.”
