Nymphea Vol II: The Rise Of Ill Fates
The pieces of glass from the mirror came crashing to the ground. Kye had gotten up from the chair and hit the mirror in front of her. Glass and blood flew everywhere. Blood spilled from his fist in the middle of the now broken reflection.
"Shut up! Stop it Nafilah! How can you look straight at your reflection and lie to me in my face?! "
Silvia's tears ran down her cheeks and she placed her hand on Kye's bloody fist. Her voice shook with fear and sympathy. She raised her head and spoke with confidence.
"I've looked at this reflection several times today and not even I can begin to explain what happened.
I wish I could help you.
I wish I could tell you I'm her...but I'm not. I'm not her."
Kye removed his fist and wiped the tears from Silvia's face. Silvia watched as the blood from his fist continued to drip on the ground. She had begun to feel guilty for his injury. The guilt was too overwhelming for her.
"This is my fault."
Silvia reached for Kye's injured hand but he hid it behind his back. He felt awful for overreacting.
He walked over to the dresser near the window. Silvia watched as he pulled out a bandage. Her eyes lit with enthusiasm.
"Please, let me wrap it. It is the least I can do.”
Kye sat on the bed while Silvia knelt before him and wrapped his hand. His hands were cold and callous compared to the warmth of her brother's. She could feel him staring at her from above. Their eyes met when she looked up at him. When he had first appeared to her she felt intimidated but now being around him felt comforting. Kind of the way she felt when she was around her brother. He looked at her with so much love and kindness. She knew he was trying to protect his sister because he cared for her dearly. Silvia tried to find the words to reassure him.
"I know this does not make any sense...and I know it sounds crazy...but please believe me. If you would help me I will do everything in my power to get your sister back. "
Kye got up from the bed and held the hand she finished wrapping.
"If you truly say you’re not Nafilah than I believe you."
Silvia jumped up off the ground with joy and hugged Kye tightly.
"Oh thank you! You have this princess's word."
Kye pushed Silvia away and put his hands on her shoulders.
" You must not let anyone know of this. For now, you will stay here where I can observe you. If you’re the princess than I need to make sure I can trust you."
Silvia nodded her head and Kye released her. She needed to do the best she could to gain his trust if she wanted to go home. Kye took his hands of Silvia’s shoulders and walked out of the room without saying another word. Silvia sighed in relief.
“I thought for a second he was going to kill me. I’m so glad that’s over.”
