Chapter 5:

Samoa Incident: Holmer POV

Wake Up, Lousy Agent

Present Day

I am glad that Mr. Bond is the one who found me. If the police department discovers the corpse of this criminal first, there is no guarantee they will keep their mouth shut. I will receive a letter of complaint from the Commission of Human Rights (CHR) tomorrow.

They always warned me to hold back when I am facing criminals, but this innocent man here doesn't even mean to kill them on the spot.

It's all an accident! An A-C-C-I-D-E-N-T!

Period! A coincidental act that the criminals deliberately did by themselves.

Who's the murderer here? They are! They are the ones who commit a suicidal action. I am just a victim of their stupid decision in life.

I'm no savage person. I'm a philanthropist. I love peace!

I am just an Overseas Filipino Worker who is working harder for my bright future, and to pay off my debt, I mean, my obligatory debt to my parents.

I am content and satisfy to work as an independent employee. A self-sufficient public servant of the UN Special Task Force (STF), you see.

For the record, I do not accept the rewards of killing criminals. Rewards worth of billion is nothing to me. Unless otherwise, it comes from honest work, you know.

Why dislike those rewards coming from HQ? Because that's blood money. I am a man of my word - I dislike violence. Killing a person is one thing I want to do the least. I want to earn with honestly and integrity. A human being who values human life and human rights.

I'm very glad that Mr. Bond only scolded me earlier. He is always there to clear the situation. My supervisor is really a hero of my life. I'm so glad that someone like him exists in this trouble world. He is one of the normal people who actually understands my situation. That I am a victim of misunderstanding.

He wants to assist however he can, you see.

But man, I wonder how long will it take for me to retire from this job. I really want to retire from this career.

If I didn't have a large debt from the 'El Commissioneres', I have already flown back to my country. Ah, I'm so tired. Tonight is a long bloody night. I want to take a rest.

I wish I have a girlfriend, but man, none of the girls that I know are normal and understand my situation. Not only that, some of them will always act as an obsessive man-slaying witch.

'Scary!' I shudder.

Man, I want to forget what happened that time.

As I walk to the next balcony, my eyes find a familiar poster. The place where Mr. Bond, the Pink-haired girl and the businessman screwed my life forever.

"Samoa... Fuck, I was about to forget it, but this thing reminded me of one of the nightmares that I wanted to forget!" I gritted my teeth as I ignored it angrily.

Five years ago again.

....

Five Years Ago

Continuing on, I packed my things for the plane.

The police department of Samoa and the UN STF came in to check on us. Then, Mr. Bond called me and introduced himself.

"Hey, I am sure you are free, but can you give us a hand this time? I didn't expect that we got a valuable client inside the plane. I received a mission from the STF, but this is an A-Class mission. So I need three people to assist me. We're going to form a temporary group. I won't ask for your rank as a sign of respect, but I'm sure you are a capable man. I'm pretty sure you are only mistaken as a hunter, so you better keep yourself in check," Mr. Bond briefly implored. "Umm, what? Escort? Yeah, sure," I responded cluelessly.

'Mama, Papa, I receive a compliment. Man, I'm very happy about that, Sir Bond. If it is only escorting the businessman to his plane, sure why not? You know, I'm very honored that someone understands my heart. It is more reasonable praise than being mistaken as a savage hunter. I ain't a hunter, you see.'

"I'm glad you know the [Code]. Just hold back a little, okay," Mr. Bond tapped a hand on my shoulder and gave me a wink. "I don't know what are you talking about, but sure," I replied with a big smile.

Public safety officers escorted us out of the eyes of the media. But all of their efforts to cover it for their story ended up in a helpless ending.

Due to the fear of receiving a backlash or losing the support of the international community, United Nations would always confiscate their items for the sake of saving their public image.

'Man... I'm hungry,' I pressed a hand on my stomach whilst my eyes were looking for an open restaurant nearby.

Thankfully, the escorts left us alone after they safely guided us to the empty building. No people were inside.

"They are hunters. Separate them from the civilians. That's what the commander told us, so keep the client safe," the senior officer commanded. "Yes, sir. Right away," his junior officer obediently followed.

'Wait... wait... Hunter? Aaah, so we have a fuckin' hunter inside the plane? Why they didn't save us from that time, huh? I don't know what a hunter is, but if they just finish them off, I won't experience that earlier, you know.'

"Fuckin' useless, pricks. They didn't see what will comin'," I muttered aside.

"What? There is another disaster that will come, huh? Precognition? To think you have the same ability as my father," the pink-haired girl looked surprised upon hearing it. "Huh?" I glared at her with a confused look.

The girl's face turned pink upon seeing my eyes. A flock of white roses blossomed behind her.

'Oi, oi, oi. Why are you blushing like a heroine in a K-drama?' I felt disgusted upon seeing it.

"Hey, hey, how did you do it? How did you beat them? I didn't sense any magic or Ki-powers, though. How?" the pink-haired girl questioned me multiple times. "No comment," I responded politely.

Her eyes opened wide as she didn't expect a blunt reply.

'That's my answer, woman. Don't ask me a stupid question. It's an accident. An accident!'

"Wow... How rude. As expected of a high-ranked Hunter, he's not easy to read. He said that we were useless. Does he mean, there is another group who will make a drastic move?" the girl commented. "Shit, Ms. Adrielle, you have to protect me, or else the world will meet its brutal end," the businessman shivered. "Don't worry, we got this!" the pink-haired girl assured as she gave him a thumbs up.

'What on earth is going on with those people? Man, I believe I should stay away from these people. Looking at the British guy, he seems the only normal person in this group.'

I walked closer to the officer and asked him where should I put my luggage.

"Sir, please don't use the code this time. I'm sorry, but you should find your own position if you want to escort the scientist," the officer reminded. "Wait, what? What code are you talking about? I am asking where should I put my luggage because I want to go to the toilet. I have to dispose of something right now," I grumbled.

"Sir, I don't know your rank, but you don't have to be too hasty. We got this, you see," the officer listlessly answered. "Hey, hunter, you need to chill. I know you want us to stay alert, but you're putting the whole group in a difficult spot. Once we safely escorted Dr. Nafario to his private plane, we can do our own thing separately."

'Bruh, what the fuck is wrong with this safety officer? I want to take a shit, you know. Aaah, whatever. I'm sure we can find another one in the room where he is guiding us.'

"Sorry, please excuse me for a while. I need to report something. Where is the toilet, officer?" asked Mr. Bond. "That corner. Turn left once you arrive in the hallway," the officer pointed a finger in the direction of the place he was asking for. "Thanks. Hey mate, watch the client for me," Mr. Bond gave me a light punch on my chest.

'Yeah, sure. I have no idea why are you in a hurry. I guess nature strikes him too hard.'

As I slowly turned my face away from him, the veins on my forehead slowly appeared.

'What the fuck? I also asked the same thing, you bastard. Why you didn't tell me right away?' I gave the son of a bitch a death glare at the officer, but he seemed unaffected or he didn't see it.

"Shit, I need to hit the toilet too. Please excuse me," I left my luggage on the corner and followed Mr. Bond's tail.

"Wait, sir. But we are not supposed to split up right away. Sir Bond ordered us to stay here with the client, though," the pink-haired girl stopped me in advance. "Naah, step aside," I pushed her aside.

"Eh, oh my goodness, they are here. I sensed a group of Ki users in that direction. Are you sure you can handle it?" the pink-haired girl worried. "What the heck are you talking about? I'm only going to take a shit. Back off," I pushed her aside again.

"S-sure. As expected of high-ranked hunters, taking them out is just dumping shit on the toilet, huh. We will stay here and wait for the result," the pink-haired girl was amazed.

I was only going to the toilet, though.

Then, once I arrived in the toilet room, another man died on the spot.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

"Goaagh," a man in a suit was hit by the door after I opened it. Then, this guy shot the four guys who were wearing the same outfits. "Thanks, mate!" Mr. Bond pulled out a knife from his pocket.

"Wait, is that a knife?" I shivered. "Yeah, thanks for saving my ass. You're a lifesaver," Mr. Bond quickly picked up a gun on the dead body.

A notification sound rang on his phone.

"Great, my wife sends us a helping hand. Hey, mate. Catch this," Mr. Bond tossed me a pistol gun. "Wai-, wait, a gun? Wait, this is a misunderstanding," I shivered as my mind was clouded by the confusing event.

'Accidental death? Corpse? Guns? What the fuck did I join in today?'

"There are too many of them. This empty building is our battlefield. The enemies are from the Golden Circle, one of the six notorious drug Triads in Southeast and East Asia. We should split up, or else they will find the client. We have to secure the whole place before the plane will come here," Mr. Bond searched the bodies of the corpses and picked up the loaded magazines. "Wait, triads? Wait, I'm just a civilian, sir. This is not what I signed for," my whole body was trembling.

"Stop acting like that. You killed four people on the spot. I'm pretty sure this is nothing for you. Listen, we have 30 minutes to cover this place. We need to buy them time. I send Ms. Adrielle a forwarded message from my contact, so she knows what she needs to do," Mr. Bond armed himself with armor.

'Cover them from those criminals? Triads are the last people I want to face! I am just an OFW, sir!'

"I will take the left, you take the right," Mr. Bond appeared behind me and opened the door. "Wait, wait, this is not what I sign for, sir," I whimpered.

"C'mon, stop lying. You're like me. You love action. I always acted like a lowly hunter like yourself," Mr. Bond's eyes wrinkled. "But I am just an ordinary human being. I'm no hunter, sir. I think you mistook me as a fellow worker," I honestly responded.

Mr. Bond's eyes blinked twice before he reacted.

"Hays, right, right, I guess I need to apologize. I understand. You take the left, I'll go to the right. It is the safest route, so don't hold back. Run wild," Mr. Bond disappeared after he said it. "Wait, wait, I'm not done yet. Ah, shit, he's gone," I heaved a tiring sigh.

'He said the left side is the safest route, so I'll head over there. Wait, you know what? How about I escape right away? If I go to the left, I can meet up with the rest of the civilians. Oh, yes. Let's throw this gun first.'

I tossed the gun at the trash bin, but I missed it, so it deliberately shot in all directions.

I hid back in the toilet room. Then, after my careless act, I found seven corpses near the trash bin.

'Oh, fuck. Out of the place where you can hide, why are you guys hiding next to the trash bin?' I whined.
