“Yeah! Come with us, no need for a pretty lady like you to be around that douchebag!”

Haywin turned towards Elez, who was a few steps ahead of her walking towards the shop. She couldn’t help but feel disgusted by the group of young men harassing Elez, and taunting her.

“Walking away? How sad… We could have done so many things to you…”

A shock went through Haywin’s head, those words reminded her of her father, someone, whose behavior was much like those individuals. She experienced some of the worst trauma you could ever imagine from a parent you would expect to trust. It was enough for her.

She gave a cold stare over her shoulders before turning her head for the last time. It intimidated the young men, and they decided to walk it off.

“We’ll see you later, pretty!” Haha!”

“Thank you for standing up for me, Haywin. This isn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last time, but it is nice having someone stand by my side.” Elez said with a soft smile on his face.

They arrived at the front gate of the shop, and parted ways. Elez walked into the shop, and Haywin turned left from it, to enter the dorm she and her roommate stayed in.

‘Darnit, I forgot my keys. I hope Alexis is around.’

She knocked on the door, and fortunately, Alex was around. Her closest friend, and a true contradiction of her persona. A curvy tan-skinned female. She had long brown hair, and green colored eyes. She just got out of her shower, she only wore a piece of towel that covered her naked body.

“Welcome back, Hay!”

“Gosh, Alex, don’t you realize there might be other people walking around?”

“Oh come oon! You’re standing in front of me anyways. Come, hop inside.”

Haywin stepped inside and shook her head, but couldn’t help but feel reassured to have a reliable and trustworthy friend like Alexis.

“So, how was your day?” Alexis said putting on a shirt and shorts.

“It was fine… Well, I failed a mission today, and I just encountered some jerks that were harassing someone.”

“Oh? You haven’t told me you went on a mission. I woke up this morning, you were nowhere to be found.”

“Yeah… I went for a run, but then got called.”

“Right… Better luck next time. What about that harassing?”

“Just some guys picking on a small guy.”

“Are you talking about that Elez guy?”

“Yeah… Why?”

“Dunno, just assumed, I heard that he got bullied a lot during the past few years. Always kept within himself and his cat, it’s kinda sad.”

“Hmm.”

“By the way, I’m gonna go and hang out with the others tonight, are you gonna tag along?”

“Eh, I’ll be fine by myself.”

“Always like this, you need to loosen up. Can’t have too much stress, especially with The Standing’s Test coming up, right?”

“I can do that by just reading a book or something.”

Alexis sighed, but let off a smile. As she walked to the kitchen and grabbed a plate of a meal she made for her.

“Here, I made you some food. I know you haven’t been eating lately.”

“Thanks…”
