Chapter 2:

Chapter 02 Luna

The Forest of Lost Dreams

Sarah woke up in a cold sweat, gasping for air. Her heart was pounding so hard that it felt like it was about to burst out of her chest. She had just had the most terrible nightmare of her life. In the dream, she was taken to the forest of dreams and placed in an eternal nightmare by a man with red glowing eyes, and no matter how fast she ran, she couldn't escape his grasp.

Shaken and scared, Sarah looked around her dark bedroom. Everything seemed normal, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She got out of bed and walked around the room, checking every corner and crevice. She even looked under the bed and in the closet, but there was nothing unusual.

Finally, Sarah realized that it was just a nightmare, and she tried to calm herself down. She took a few deep breaths and decided to make some coffee to help her relax. As she walked into the kitchen, she saw that the clock read 9:00 AM. She remembered that it was the weekend, and she had no school to go to, so she decided to stay home and enjoy a lazy day.

After making herself a cup of coffee, Sarah curled up on the couch and turned on the TV. She flipped through the channels, trying to find something to watch, but she couldn't concentrate on anything. Her mind kept drifting back to the nightmare and the feeling of being chased.

Suddenly, Sarah heard a loud noise coming from the hallway. She froze her heart racing again. She listened carefully, but she couldn't hear anything else. As Sarah got closer to the hallway, she saw her cat, Luna, sitting at the end of it, looking up at her with wide, curious eyes. Relief washed over her as she realized that it was just Luna who had caused the noise. She walked over to the furry feline and picked her up, hugging her close to her chest.

"You scared me, Luna," Sarah said, giving her cat a gentle kiss on the head.

Luna purred contentedly, nuzzling her head against Sarah's shoulder. Sarah smiled, feeling her anxiety slowly fade away. She knew that Luna was just a cat, but her presence gave her a sense of comfort and security.

As she walked back to the living room, still holding Luna in her arms, Sarah felt a pang of loneliness. She had been living alone in her apartment for almost a year now, ever since she moved away from her parent's house to attend high school in the city. At first, she loved the freedom and independence that came with living on her own, but lately, she had been feeling more and more isolated.

She put Luna down on the couch and sat down next to her, stroking her soft fur. Luna purred in contentment, seeming to sense Sarah's sadness.

"You know what, Luna?" Sarah said, smiling at her cat. "We should do something fun today. Maybe we could watch some movies or play some games."

Luna meowed in response, and Sarah took that as a yes. She got up from the couch and went to the kitchen, grabbing some snacks and drinks to share with Luna. As she settled back onto the couch, she felt grateful for her furry companion's company.

For the rest of the day, Sarah and Luna enjoyed each other's company, watching movies, playing games, and snacking on treats. As the sun began to set outside, she prepared for bed. And as she lay in bed, feeling Luna's warm, furry body snuggled up next to her, Sarah felt a strange sensation.
