To know that his name would never be written down in history, that his ambitions would all be futile and his love be without fruit, that he would rot away in a faraway land later in life, to know that such a fate lied before him, Auguste despaired.
His fate foretold, his heart broken, it was during then, did he chance upon a man named Albert, the man who would later be known as the chosen hero who slew the Demon Lord of the Dungeons, the man who saved both Auguste and his childhood friend, Helena, from a murderous Demon.
With her family murdered by the Demon and seeking revenge, Helena joined Albert on his journey, leaving Auguste behind. Left alone, his heart cold and in pieces, lamenting his own powerlessness, Auguste began traveling on a path of his own, a path against what fate had set out for him, a path of the unchosen.
