Amy Thorne has always abhorred making a scene and sticking out. Despite her best efforts in the past, she's never truly been assertive, and prefers sticking to the background. Excess attention is the last thing she wants. She's perfectly fine being a non-obtrusive wallflower, living the NEET life as a recently disabled veteran. She just wants to be left alone with her hobbies and money, thank you very much.

But life doesn't seem content to leave her alone. Fate, meddlesome parents, and an overbearing, enigmatic bureaucrat from the dark side of the National Archives force her of of NEETdom and into Education, Employment and Training.

Even the pet cat she picks up ends up being more than meets the eye.

She's ticked off at having her comfy life taken away from her, and she wants revenge. The only solution? Magic learned from the forbidden texts of her part-time job. It may be petty, but it's the best revenge she'll get.
