(before the first ch)
Amidst the towering valleys of trees,
Neither rain nor shine touched the world.
It was a world of faded silence—
hushed and dulled.
Wandering with heart’s mind,
I came across intertwined vines of a mighty pine
Hidden by its shadow,
with skin bound to bone,
A fragment of a face lay there alone
Like a puzzle piece lost to time,
Hoping that it could rewind
To the place of goodbyes.
Look through the window,
Where a weary soul lies—
your prayers lost in the wind,
because peace was on the line.
Behind my touch unfelt,
Emotions stirred like the endless sea
With nowhere to bleed,
It festered deep in the heart,
Tearing, aching, breaking apart.
A sadness so raw,
I wished to tear my chest out,
But from that sorrow,
Helplessness rose like a tide,
Drowning me in its quiet despair.
I awoke to sunlight spilling in my room,
The first song of the birds filling the air.
Tears traced silent paths down my cheeks
Yet I did not know why I wept,
Or for whom I grieved.
