Chapter 4: Medicinal powerups are totally sci-fi

An unspecified amount of time ago, in a certain village in Cuba.
The once peaceful village was up in flames.
As far as the eyes can see, there was only fire burning.
Surrounding the burning houses were charred corpses.
Corpses of all ages, from young to old littered the place.
In the midst of all this, was a young boy, who would be no older than the age of 10.
"How is any of this fair, is this what you call Justice!"
The young boy proclaimed to the man responsible for burning the place.

Ricardo still faintly recalled that moment, deep in his memory.
He was unsure why he remembered such a trival thing now, but he paid it no mind.
For in front of him was his target.
The intruder into this deadly game, Rilim Rea.
Right as he was going to take his stance to hunt his prey, arrived Rubert.
He also had to take into account Roxy, who was nearby and ready to snipe him for any wrong move he makes.
It was a 4 way battle but Ricardo was confident he could win.
That was until Rilim popped a pill into her mouth.
He was unsure what it was, but he had a bad feeling about it.

Rilim had just ingested a pill and not a minute later, started to ooze out Ronove Elemental Energy. 
In this case, it was nature energy.
She then went into the offensive, and hijacked the earth leylines.
Tree roots started to sprout out the ground, and entangled the other contestants.
Only Rubert who had an inking about what the pill was managed to dodge it in time.
But the other 3 werent so lucky, and ended up trapped in a tree root cage.
Everyone watching was bewildered.
They had no idea how this was possible.
To the world at large, one could only channel Ronove energy through a manmade catalyst.
Kogoro then starts to explain how this was possible to the auidence.
Around 20 years ago, The Russo actually started to do research into whether it was possible for humans to channel elemental energy without the need for a catalyst.
The lead researcher into this topic just went by the name Rias.
She actually managed to make a significant breakthrough and was this close to making the research thesis possible.
For unknown reasons however, Rias and her research finding mysteriously vanished.
The Russos had also placed a ban on the few prototypes made and placed a taboo on the topic itself.
The crowd went wild after kogoro finished his sentence, they were surprised that this mysterious girl had gotten her hands on such a forbidden research.
Of course, her name being Rea was no concidence, for one would assume Rea is just an alias she went by, from changing her name abit.
However, one look at Rilim would disprove them being the same people, for she looked no older than 18 and it was impossible by all accounts for them to be the same person.
Could she be a daugther or a younger sister then?
The crowd could only speculate.

Back at the battlefield, Rilim was thinking to herself.
One pill can only gives me about 5 minutes of power, i got to take out at least one of them before the limit.
She was also disappointed that she could not capture all 4 of them and that Rubert managed to dodge it.
When asked how Rubert could even know what was coming next, he only replied with a playful
"Don't underestimate the power of a retired military vet, little girl."
Rilim then placed her hand on the earth's leylines again to create a giant sword.
She then picked up the sword and rushed Rubert.
Rubert then blocked the sword with his cane.
Rilim was shocked, no ordinary cane could block such a powerful hit.
She then instictively stepped back before a slash of Aero could hit her.
"Clever little miss you are,"
Rubert says as he pulls the scabbard off of his cane.
Yes it was no ordinary cane, it was actually a spear.
Rubert had always managed to catch his opponent off guard with such a strategy.
There were a few insane people like Reinhard who could avoid such a thing to begin with sure, but Rubert never pegged Rilim as the type of girl to be able to do that.
He had assumed she was a kid about the same age as his granddaugther.
A naive little girl who was in over her head trying to enter such a deadly game.
He knew better of course, then to underestimate someone like that.
He realise Rilim was a hardened battle warrior like the rest of them and decided to unleash his full power out of respect for her bravery.

The move was called Drei Luft.
Despite what the name suggests, it is actually a 5 strike move that Rubert does in a span of 2 seconds.
They strike at each of the target's 4 limb and when theyre all knocked away, the final blow will pierce their heart.
It was truly a sure hit kill technique and Rubert pulling it out this early shows the respect Rilim had managed to earn from him in such a short time.
As the first 2 strike hit rilim legs, she fell to the ground.
As the next 2 strike were aimed at Rilims hand, she had managed to deflect both of the hits and managed to move her hands to block the 5th hit from hitting her heart.
While she suffered serious damage, it was not life threathening.
Rubert was amazed, only 2 other people in his life could manage to block the strike on their first go.
As they both get ready to make their next move, They noticed they were surrounded by a sea of flames.
It was Roxy, she had set the tree branches trapping her ablaze, and the flame had made its way around the 2 due to the connected leylines.
Ricardo had also broken free through unknown means while Regulus had managed to finally pry the branches of the tree big enough to escape from it.
IT was now back to a 5 way battle.
That was until SOMEONE did something unexpected.
