Prologue

Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat

“Move, Move, Move.”

My Lieutenant shouted towards the squadron backing me to move to the barricade put up by central intelligence up ahead. Bullets rained on us from defending gun fire, like acid rain from hell.

“Get the hell behind the sandbags you idiots.”

I was shouting to the squadron just behind mine. I covered for them returning fire to the fifty or so men positioned ahead, as well did my squad-mates. A man named Jacob, a officer in my squad pulled a grenade out from his pocket.

“Where in the fuck did you get that Officer.”

“Skimmed ‘er off one of the soldiers we had killed while back at the airport raid, why?”

“Just curious, now quit standin’ here talking and pull the god damn pin.”

He proceeded to pull the grenade pin and lob it towards the enemy fire.

“GRENADE!” ---Boom

The enemy fire continued although it was slightly deafened now as Jacob had taken out at least ten of their men and a section of sandbags. We continued to shoot back. One of my other men, a Korean named Ji-Bin, stood up and ran to a cement barricade 15 yards ahead of the ridge of sandbags we were currently holding. Two more of my men both Americans named, Tyler and Andre, and a 17-year-old from the squad behind us name Aden, moved up with him.

I shouted over to them “You boys have any sight on the stragglers.”

Tyler shouted back “Yes sir we count ten on the left and five on the right.”

“Alright then, give em fuckin hell.”

Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat-Click, Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat

The four combined had unloaded at least nine magazines already, and enemy lines were noticeably weaker.

“How many are left now,” I yelled again.

“Four if I count correctly sir.”

“Good fucking job. Squad One and Squad Two ready secondaries and reload, we’re pushing the enemy ridge within ten seconds. 10, 9, 8.”

Squad Two didn’t look ready to push yet.

“7, 6, 5.”

…I swear to god if these motherfuckers ain’t get there shit together were gonna be fucked here in a second.

“4, 3, 2, 1.”
