Echoes of the past (prologue)

The year was 2654. News and rumors from the last few years had come true—the monsters calling themselves the Abyssals had arrived. Sightings of these creatures had been reported over the past three years. Some said it was real, while others dismissed it as another internet trend. However, this time it was different. Previous sightings claimed that a 1-2 foot monster erupted from the ground, ate everything except humans, and then retreated. But this time, 10-15 foot long monsters came, and they were not only eating humans but destroying everything in their path. The world united its military forces but still couldn't control it until the four heroes, Taira Katsuro (leader and skilled fighter), Shinra Keiko (fierce warrior with elemental powers), Etsuko Rei (healer and tactician), and Jiro Takashi (tech genius who used technology to combat the monsters), appeared from Mount Fuji and fought the monsters. After fighting furiously for days and killing every single one of the creatures, the four heroes finally won and were given the title of "The Earth's Revivers."

But there was another problem: there were only 9 million people left, and it was very difficult to return to the point where humans once were. All the skyscrapers, AI robots—everything was gone. Along with the technology, many great people were also lost. There was only one good thing about this new world: there were no borders, meaning the whole world was one united nation, and the kings were the four heroes and their descendants.

Until, in the year 2918, a man named Zoran came and fought the current kings and, unfortunately, won. He declared that the strongest should be the ruler. From that day, there was a contest whenever the king died, and the winner would become the new king. After this rule was established, the descendants of the heroes were worth nothing more than ordinary people.
