PACHELBEL’S PILOT - II.c.

The towering statue of a training dummy snapped off from its base a smoldering husk, remaining in place so only a portion of the trunk protruded up instead of resting above waist height- its metal interior melted into useless soup that seeped into the ground below.

"HELL YEAH!!

JUST. LIKE. THAT."

Inferno Blaze blew yet another plume before letting out a large sniff, rearing his head as a fiery beam shot forward at unmatched speed. Everything else seemed to move in slow motion- a rush that matched the rushing thoughts swirling within his mind.

As if it had sensed his desire, the charged beam of photons paused midair and shot back towards Eclipse, smacking her square in the face before vanishing into nothingness; the blast redirecting towards Inferno before Snarrk bashed Nicole maintaining a T-pose onto the robot's head, the pickaxe shattering glass into shards.

Elements that touched the area flew backward while Inferno flew sideways.

With both her arms outstretched and her legs splayed as far apart as they would go, Mistress ran forward while throwing one foot into Inferno's chest- sending him on a trajectory to barrel towards the far side of the room, stopping only when he slammed face-first against the far wall—cratering several sections into dust from a force easily enough to finish most metahumans permanently.

A dull breeze blew, rustling the woman's short skirt.

"IDIOT!"

Eclipse whirled her head in confusion- startled, her jaw nearly dropped when she saw her friend slowly hover his way back onto the field.

"SKANK!"

Inferno Blaze roared back, the two engaging in another playground brawl once more, almost engulfing all matter within the room with his powers and causing a series of small explosions as Eclipse phased tooth and nail against his attacks.

Both sides made effective use of the newfound freedom and used every trick in the book, from super-strong legs that pried open his mouth to elbows to chests to jabs to the gut while also employing the use of his own fists flying and flying everywhere, and to much success by the looks of their expressions.

Then, to the surprise of everyone—

Everything exploded.

A colossal amount of flames consumed the entirety of the floor in a dome shape, the central area of the flames blazing so intensely that Eric momentarily lost sight of their surroundings and found Mirage unable to prevent them from extinguishing properly under its influence and became engulfed within his aura.
