Chapter 2B When The Robots are Attacking |Leonard vs EC Bully|

After about an hour's walk, Leonard arrived at Gerald's Van. Gerald and Leonard had been on the same field since they were transferred to serve Nusa Jaya. Both Gerald and Leonard were once in the military on Nusa Jaya, but after the accident that led to the Robot Apocalypse, they became securities that served the sewer in District 7. Since then, many had died to protect much of the civilization on the island, and those who survived were divided to protect every different district on the island. For every district on the island, there were at least about 30 people who guarded each sewer. Both Gerald and Leonard were two of many in District 7.

"Hey, Gee. What was it?" asked Leonard, opening Gerald's Van that was parked sideways to block an entrance to the sewer.

"Hey, Lee. I have very bad news, man," said Gerald while turning his moveable chair, revealing that he had lost both his left leg and arm and was now using an artificial arm and leg.

"How bad?"
"Here, let me show you," said Gerald while turning back to face his PC.
"Look here," he said, pointing at a screen where a camera was disabled, and continued, "You know where this is at?"
Walking to the screen, Leonard said, "Isn't that where Larry and his squad were guarding? What happened?"
"I don't know. It was disabled a moment before I contacted you," he sighed and said, "I fear the worst, Lee. What if one of those robots got in there and ambushed them?"

Leonard stood straight and said, "I'm going to the Northwest wing to check. Don't worry, Gerald, I..." he hesitated to say but said it anyway, "I'm sure they are fine."
"I hope so as well."
"But just in case, I will get some preparation and some of your artillery if you don't mind."
"Yeah, take what you need, Lee. I want you to be safe."

After that short interaction, Leonard returned to walking for about one and a half hours to reach the Northwest wing of the sewer.
"I'm at the end of Sector 30 exit that leads to the shack where Larry and his squad were, Gee. Do you copy?" said Leonard to his walkie-talkie.
"Yes, copy that. You may continue, Lee. Over."
Leonard walked ever so slightly through the tunnel and told Gerald again, "It feels so ominous here. Only the sound of yucky water flow made this not too quiet. Over."
"Keep it at that, Lee. It would be worse if you didn't have any sound surrounding you. Over."

They both kept talking about random things so it didn't feel so ominous until, "Lee..... is.... go... reach..."
"Gee? Gee!?" The walkie-talkie suddenly stopped working.
"Ah, shit. If only we could use modern communication gadgets, this would be easier, but if we use those gadgets, the robots are going to know our location.
"Without communication, Leonard continued his journey, but not too long after, he heard a voice. A voice that sounded familiar but uncanny, "LeOnArD, BRROoothhheeer.""Larry? Larry, is that you?" Leonard heard that but remained cautious and kept walking slowly toward the sound.

The voices kept on repeating, and it made Leonard scared.
"What the hell is happening here? Larry should have heard it and come here if there were no accidents. Oh, please, little bro. Be safe."

When Leonard arrived at the door to the shack, he stopped and knocked, "Hey, Larry. It's me. I'm going in," Leonard slowly opened the door. When he opened the door wide, he was shocked to learn that all of the people in the shack had been murdered by a robot that didn't look whole.
"BRoooOOTHeeeRR."

Stunned in place, Leonard almost cried but strengthened himself and stood firm. "YOOOOUUUU BASSSSSTAAARDDDD," he started shooting his gun.
He wasn't thinking straight and accidentally aggroed the robot to shoot fire. Before it hit Leonard, however, he backed up and got behind the wall entrance. "Shit, why am I wasting my ammo? Damn it!"

"BRooTThherrr," the robot soon followed Leonard and walked through the door. Upon exiting the door, Leonard punched the head of the robot with his metal glove and knocked the robot's head. But when it got knocked, the head came back to its body, and that was when Leonard realized what had just happened.

"Hell no, an EC variation? And what type are you? The standard 13U11, Bully?"

EC or Entangled Computer was a robot that was actually not a robot. This variation came before IC, its variation number was 4. What this robot could do was manipulate gadgets or vehicles and turn them into somewhat of a functional body. This variation came in a lot of nama too. But most EC robots had the same nama, which was Bully, the common nama. Even though the nama was the same, their appearance was different from each other. Their look could be like a UFO, spider, scorpion, or the one that Leonard was facing right now, a Head Crawler. A Head Crawler could attach itself to a machine and send out wires or use a wireless connection throughout the body of that machine. With AI technology, it would try to mimic humans. And as a bonus, when the robot took over the body of a machine with a wireless connection, it could disable any communication or Wi-Fi surrounding that robot within about 1 km or approximately 0.62 miles.

"Bastard! I won't go down so easy, this is for Larry and the others. You and me, fist fight," Leonard exclaimed while getting ready to fight.
"Come on, knucklehead. I know you understand what I said. Get ready!"

"BroootHEr, WWHhhyyy?" said the robot while getting ready. The stances of the robot revealed to Leonard that the EC robot had taken over a motorcycle."I see. You better get ready, bastard. I can see your weakness."

They started their fight and ended up in a 5-minute boxing match. Leonard was almost out of stamina, but the robot was too, and when he saw the opportunity, he pulled out his baton and knocked the engine out of the robot.

EC robot weaknesses were a very easy target. Since it was attached to the body of a machine, it would no longer be active by itself, so it changed its source of power to the machine that it was attached to. And this time, it was a motorcycle engine.

After a long fight, Leonard sat down and tried to contact Gerald again. When the communication worked again, Gerald immediately shouted, concerned, "Leonard! Leonard! God damn it, you son of a bitch, pick up the walkie. Leonard!"
Out of breath, Leonard said, "Sorry, Gee. I had a fight with EC."
"You okay? Did you need someone to pick you up? What happened?"Leonard explained everything, including the death of his little brother and his squad.
Gerald didn't say anything and then followed by a loud bang, "GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!"

"Gee, I..." As hard as it was, Leonard accepted his fate and refused to cry. "I'm okay. I... can go through this, but right now we can't just let this keep on going. We need to ask Makori to build that thing here too. They kept on coming lately, and I don't want us getting beaten to death before we can even fight Sama."
"Come back as soon as you can, Lee. We'll contact him here. I don't want anything to happen to you too."

With that said, Leonard sealed the door to his brother's shack and walked back to Gerald's van. Before he went back though, he scrapped the robot and destroyed the transmitter that was attached to the EC robot body. He saluted his deceased brother and then left the scene.
