Chapter 34: The Sigil’s Choice

Veilborn: Awakening

The next day, they ventured deeper into the forest where the shooting star had fallen. As they neared the crash site, the strange energy grew stronger, pulling at the Sigil in Ithan’s chest.

"This is it," Lyra said, her tone serious. "Whatever lies ahead, you must be ready."

At the center of the crash site, a glowing crystal pulsated with the same energy they had sensed from the figure. It was linked to the Sigil—something ancient, something powerful.

Ithan stepped forward, feeling the power of the Sigil surge within him. The crystal reacted, rippling with energy. His hand reached out involuntarily, the Sigil resonating in sync with the crystal.

The figure from before appeared, its eyes blazing with fury. “You cannot wield the Sigil’s full power,” it hissed. “It belongs to me.”

A fierce battle broke out, Ithan’s newfound strength tested to its limits as he faced the powerful enemy. But it wasn’t the Sigil alone that determined the outcome—it was his heart. The bond he shared with Lyra, with the world, and with his own humanity gave him the strength to defeat the figure.

As the enemy fell, the crystal shattered, releasing a burst of light that faded into the sky, leaving only silence behind.
