Killer of Giants

Shion cleaned up her tools before she and Chizuru exited the room. Ms. Bunny was waiting for them at the end of the hall.

Shion spoke in a calm voice, "Dr. Tanaka is dead, I'll have someone come collect the body. Until then I wouldn't leave the building. Apparently an attack on the city is happening. I would just wait here or flee to the tunnels if anything, Sayaka. Is the shop secure upstairs? If not, I can help do that before we leave."

Miss Bunny spoke in a sensual, low voice, "We are all taken care of and sealed up tight. The Dr. was the last customer in here, all the other ones are safe in the storefront. We have enough food and supplies to stay here a while anyways. Oh and Shion, congrats on your engagement,” she tossed Shion her ring box.

"Thanks..., but Sayaka when did you? Nevermind…" Shion replied, catching it.There was a sudden tension in the air after the two headed to the Librarian and requested a clean up crew. As the two descended the tunnel the silence between Shion and Chizuru was deafening.

Nervously, Chizuru started fumbling her words once she gained the courage to speak, "Um.... eh...! Uhh, Shion?! About Ms. Bunny, um Sayaka?"

Shion sighed, "I wish I could say it's not what you're thinking, but it kind of was...I'll explain, we have a few minutes before we reach the tunnel closest to the lab anyways. So, Sayaka or the person you know as Ms. Bunny and I grew up together. She is like three months older than me. Her adoptive parents and my family lived close together. From the time I was young the two of us always got along. Before my parents died I considered Sayaka a close friend. She always really liked me, and she wasn't shy about it at all. When we were in elementary school she confessed how she felt about me and was even my first kiss. We were kind of a kiddie thing. She took it super seriously but I didn't really. Everything changed after I joined the Rebellion. She followed like 4 years later but that's when I went to OTS."

"Ok, I get it I think, but wait a minute, she is only 19! Shion?! And she does that for work?!"

"Oh yeah, Sayaka was always rather naughty in that way."

"Always...?! But Shion I thought..." Chizuru gasped as her knees began to weaken.

"We never went further than a kiss because I wouldn't let her, it just didn't feel right even though I really care about Sayaka.”

Chizuru leaned over and grasped her heart, "Thank goodness, but Shion does she still have feelings for you?"

"Yeah I'm pretty sure she does. That kiss she gave me was to piss you off, the one she gave you was to piss me off. Anyways, we are just about there. Are you ready to see what fresh hell is happening on the surface?"

"Well, did it work? You jealous?”

Shion turned around and grabbed Chizuru's waist before pressing a hard kiss on her lips. "Yes. Very jealous. Now, look up. It's about a 12 ft jump to the ladder. Watch your head and follow my lead."

Shion jumped vertically and grabbed the bottom rung. She climbed up a few steps then called out for Chizuru to come up. With the jump Chizuru nearly missed and smacked her head but was able to duck in time while grabbing the bottom rung.

The two stayed quiet for the duration of the climb just in case hostiles were present near the surface. At this point it was night, and the usually brightly lit city was almost black.

Looks like the power had been cut which was a good thing because most electronic locks would not keep a charge long without a constant power source. Breaking into the lab would be less complicated. At this point it had nearly been 24 hours since Shion took the green pill so to be safe she had about another 12 hours before she needed to take a red one and the next dose of nanites.

Shion's hair however had already started to go brown at the roots, but rather than cover it up, Shion left it alone as brown hair may make it harder for people to guess her identity.

Shion opened the manhole cover just enough to get a good look at the area. Shion could see the front of the lab building shimmering even in the darkness. It was hard to tell but something was littering the ground. From around the building appeared a huge man, shirtless with large deformed muscles wearing an executioner's hood dragging a large axe behind him.

Shion closed the lid and beemed Chizuru, "The good news is there is only one guy out there that looks hostile, the bad news is that he is one big and scary looking motherfucker. At only 80% recovered at this point I think he will be hard to take out, but we need to do it anyway for our safety. If he catches us inside we won't have a lot of space to fight. Are you ready to take him on?"

Chizuru nodded her head, "We got this baby. Let's take him out. Together we can do anything."

Once the big guy rounded the corner the two made a dash for the front of the building. Shion skirted to a sudden halt causing Chizuru to hit her back, nearly sending the two to the floor.

Dismembered bodies covered the ground in a 15 ft radius around the building. Similar to when Shion battled, arms appeared to be torn off, legs pulled from their sockets, but the most concerning remains had bite marks and big chunks of flesh missing.

Shion mutter, "Oh fuck, this must have been what Tanaka was working on."

Chizuru, "Shion this fucker is crazy, maybe we should..."

The landing of the axe right between the two interrupted Chizuru. With catlike reflexes, both girls flew back in opposite directions.

Shion grabbed the cable that was slung over her shoulder and started whirling it around while Chizuru unsheathed her twin blades. Both attempted to beem each other and the women and no success. The building must have a signal blocker active inside now.

As the man reached down to retrieve his weapon, the pair saw a tattoo on his wrist. 219. Shion flung the cable towards the man catching him on the forearm. She then attempted to pull him down by the arm, but instead found herself being flung in the direction of Chizuru.

Shion whispered to Chizuru, "This guy is strong, and my cable didn't even leave a mark on his skin. See if you can cut him."

Shion did her best to lay cover for Chizuru striking at the dirt near the man. His attention was easily drawn towards Shion with her false strikes. She thought the thing didn't appear very intelligent if that was all it took to distract it.

With ease Chizuru was able to sneak up behind the giant and attempted to land a cut in his Achilles heel, but was only able to make a scratch. She double back-springed back to Shion.

Chizuru and Shion exchanged puzzled glances. "Shion is thing fucking invincible or something?"

"No, everyone has a weakness. It isn't very smart for one. And it is very strong. Maybe we can use that to our advantage. If neither of us is strong enough to hurt it, maybe it can hurt itself."

Shion saw the large statue in the middle of the square and thought of a plan.

"Chizuru, see if you can get that thing to move directly across from the statue that would be perfect. When you get it there try to make it throw the axe at you. If I can catch it and use the momentum I may be able to chop through this beast."

"Ok Shion, I'm trusting you, wish me luck."

Chizuru began running in a zig zag path in front of the giant taunting him until he began to slowly move towards her. When he came close to her mark, Chizuru began hurling throwing knives at its face; the thing got angry and drew back the axe preparing to throw.

Meanwhile, Shion whirled her cable as fast as she could and put one leg up against the side of the statue. Once the man threw the Shion let her cable loose, wrapping it around the handle of the axe, Shion pulled back with all her might causing the axe to shift directions and start heading back to the giant. Whack! The blade sliced 3/4 of the way threw the thing's neck. Almost instantly the large man sunk to the ground, instantly dead. Chizuru quickly gathered the blades she used and the two headed into the lab before any other freaks could show up.
