Chapter 30: The Rift Deepens

The encounter with Eryndor left the group shaken. Tensions ran high as they continued their journey, the silence between them heavy and oppressive.

Zeryn’s mind raced with doubts. Eryndor’s words had struck a nerve, awakening questions she had tried to suppress. What if the spires weren’t meant to be destroyed? What if she was fighting against something she was destined to protect?

“You’re too quiet,” the green-eyed figure said, breaking the silence.

Zeryn shot them a glare. “And you’re too nosy.”

“Hey, I’m just saying,” they replied, raising their hands defensively. “We can’t afford to lose our heads out here.”

“Enough,” the leader snapped. “Save it for the enemies ahead.”

But the cracks in their unity were becoming harder to ignore.
