Chapter 55: A New Beginning

The battlefield lay in silence. The Dark Council had been defeated, their remnants scattered and their influence broken. Zeryn stood amidst the ruin, her heart still pounding, but a sense of peace began to settle within her.

The green-eyed figure approached her, their expression softening. "You did it. You really did."

Zeryn’s gaze turned toward the horizon, where the first light of dawn was beginning to break through the darkness. "We did it," she said quietly.

But even as she spoke those words, she knew the world had changed. The darkness within her had been tamed, but it was not gone. It was a part of her now—just as the light was. Together, they would shape the future.

"The world is still in need of healing," Zeryn said, turning back to the green-eyed figure. "But we’ll face it together."

And with that, they walked toward the rising sun, ready to face whatever came next.
