Chapter 39:
Lost Child from Another World

A few days after the assessments, it was finally time for Atlas and Cyrus to start their first day at the Imperial Academy.
All of the things that they needed to live in the dorms were already moved over, so they just needed to bring themselves and unpack their luggage in their rooms.
At the entrance of the Alnhart mansion, Everett and Mirabelle were hugging Cyrus and Atlas because they were gonna miss them. Mirabelle was the most distraught because she wasn’t ready for this day.
She was going to be an empty nester for the next year. Luckily, Sirius was moving back to the Alnhart family when he was done with school.
“Remember, protect each other, and make some friends.” Mirabelle had tears in her eyes thinking that her babies would be away from home for a really long time.
“Mom… We will be back on the weekends.” Cyrus felt his mom was making a big deal out of nothing… “We will be sure to take care of each other and tell you about our first week of school.”
He still let Mirabelle hug him while she wiped her tears into his hair.
“Don’t worry Mom, I will protect Cyrus!” Atlas ran over for a hug. He towered over Cyrus and Mirabelle but they still accepted him into the hug.
Sirius and Everet were waiting off to the side, watching Mirabelle and Atlas hugging and talking with Cyrus.
“Sirius, be sure to take care of your younger brothers and help them get adjusted to their life at the Imperial Academy. Report to me if anything suspicious happens, okay?” Everet was a bit worried that he could no longer protect Cyrus and Atlas because they would be living outside of his home, but at least the Imperial Academy was a safe place.
The barrier around the Imperial Academy was almost on par with the one around the Imperial Palace. He didn’t have to worry too much while they were in the Imperial Academy.
Sirius nodded, fully intending to take care of Cyrus and Atlas. “I understand, Father. I was able to look at the list of first-year students and there are already a few students that seem suspicious. I will let you know if I find anything significant that I cannot handle.”
“Send me the information on those students. I will see if I can help with the investigation as well. That should take your mind off of a few things as you observe their time in the Imperial Academy.”
“Thank you, Father. I will have Loren send you what I have gathered thus far.” Loren was Sirius’ personal butler.
“Do not let your guard down at the Imperial Academy… I feel it will not be easy to fight off the spies and assassins from the Holy Kingdom. They have been increasing their attacks, especially after finding out about Cyrus and Atlas.”
“Father, is it true that they are requesting for Atlas to come back to the Holy Kingdom where his biological parents are? Do they even have grounds for that?”
“No, he has no birth certificate created by the Church of Light. It is not something that even the Pope could forge. Their claims to him have been shut down but they have been persistent about it. Not only that, we technically found him in the Great Dragon Forest. In the eyes of the Gods, we have adopted him.”
Sirius sighed in relief. “It is good that legally, they have no claims to Atlas. It is their fault for trying to sacrifice him to the God of Light. Now, they can no longer bring him back.”
The two chatted a bit more as they waited for Mirabelle, Cyrus, and Atlas. Once Cyrus was fed up, he had the two get off of him and said it was time to go.
Cyrus was right though, they were going to be late if they didn’t start going soon.
Mirabelle and Everet gave Cyrus and Atlas one more hug and told them to be careful and have fun. After that, they helped the three into the carriage and watched them leave the estate.
“Dear, the Holy Kingdom can’t take away our children, right?” Mirabelle knew that the Holy Kingdom was relentlessly trying to take her children away from her… That’s why they had hid Cyrus and Atlas for so long.
“They cannot and I will make sure to protect them until they can protect themselves.” Even though Everet confidently said that, he was still worried about them.
He didn’t know what extreme lengths the Holy Kingdom would take to grab their children. He could guard from a thief for a thousand days but if he were to let his guard down for even a moment, that thief could steal from his home…
“Let us get back inside.” Everet gently put his hand on Mirabelle’s waist and motioned her to go back inside. “Cyrus and Atlas wouldn’t be happy if we got a cold by waiting out here all day, right? They will come back on the weekend, so all we can do is wait for them to tell us how their first week of school went.”
“You are right… We should get them some gifts to celebrate their first week of school.”
The two talked about some gifts that Cyrus and Atlas might like while going back inside the house.

When Sirius, Cyrus, and Atlas arrived at the Imperial Academy, they saw Sophie and Ronan waiting for them at the entrance. As usual, Sophie and Ronan wanted to go together with them.
Plus, Cyrus, Atlas, and Ronan had their rooms on the same floor. Sirius was also in the same dorm, so he decided to come along with them and help them unpack.
Only Sophie was in the girls’ dorm building next to the boys’ building. There was also a dorm for other gender identities but the building was a bit smaller. Thankfully, Sophie had friends who lived in the same dorm, so she met up with them when they parted ways.
According to Sirius, the male dormitory had six floors. The first two were for seniors, the third and fourth floors were for juniors, and the fifth and sixth floors were for freshmen.
Thankfully, there were lifts powered by magic to help students get to the upper floors. There were also stairs if the students wanted to use them instead of waiting.
Sirius, Atlas, Ronan, and Cyrus decided to take the stairs because all of their stuff was already in their dorms. For them, walking up to the fifth floor was a walk in the park.
There were three kinds of rooms. The students were assigned rooms with four beds, two beds, and finally one bed. People with disabilities or of extremely high status were given one-bedroom rooms. The rest were split into the other two kinds of rooms. Atlas and Cyrus shared a room while Ronan and Sirius had their own room.
Cyrus opted to share a room with Atlas because he couldn’t trust that Atlas would be able to find his room by himself… Plus, he was there to help him take care of Sir Walter, Starlight, and Lapis.
They first went to Ronan’s room to drop off his things. His luggage was being cleaned by his personal butler who he trusted. His room was thankfully, next door to Cyrus and Atlas’ room.
Cyrus and Atlas didn’t have anyone organizing their luggage, so Sirius and Ronan helped them out. But it wasn’t a lot because all the important items were in their item box.
Once they were finished, Sirius felt it was a good time to explore the academy so they knew where to go the next day.
The first day of school was for the students to familiarize themselves with the campus. The day after, they would go to the auditorium where they first listened to a speech made by the Principal of the Imperial Academy, and then go to their homeroom class where they would meet the teacher that was in charge of them for the year.
The Imperial Academy was quite large, so Atlas was able to take out his tamed beast so they could get used to their new home. When he was not at home, the tamed beasts and monsters were in his subconscious, resting until they were called out. This space was not unique to Tamers, but the size was. Atlas’ space was quite large, so the amount and the size of his tamed beast could be large.
Sirius took all of them on a tour around the Imperial Academy. Atlas was ridding on Sir Walter’s back because they were afraid he would wander off and get lost.
They visited the auditorium first, then all the first-year classrooms, the cafeteria, the combat and magic training grounds, the library, and finally, the gardens where many people spent their time relaxing. The other buildings like the research and administration buildings were off-limits because they did not have access to them.
The entire area was as large as a town and it was covered in a large magical barrier that kept unregistered people out of the Imperial Academy.
Along the way, they met many students, some who knew Atlas and Cyrus from the debut, while others were ogling at them. They were especially looking at Atlas who was riding a large divine beast.
Some noticed Sirius and Ronan, but most of their attention was on Atlas and Cyrus who were blessed by the Gods.
There was one person in the crowd who did not look at them with awe or praise. Their gaze left as quickly as they arrived.

Grandpa Marky: Hey everyone! Sorry I'm late. I had to clean my room and then set up the equipment I got from the company. It was frustrating because the PC they gave me is not working so I called and emailed them but still haven't gotten a reply. Hopefully, they answer me today...
Anyway, that's it from me! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Have a lovely day/night my beautiful grandchildren <3
