Chapter 21

"Alpha 1, do you have him?" The voice in comms said

"I have the target on sight." The Hitman said as he set his sights on john

"Good. Shoot on my signal." The voice said

"Roger." The hitman said as he shoots

Meanwhile, back to john, he was then pressured by the single ladies from most countries to choose one of them.

"Hey john, cant you just choose from among us?" A lady said

"No! Hes mine! And here I thought that you are all here just to chatter!" Beth said as she clings tightly to john

"We are, and we will. After maybe he chooses which one of us as his fiance." A lady said

"I mean, we are already talking to him for 2 hours already, and all he ever discusses is about science." A lady said being a bit frustrated

"But girls, he has laready said all that he could about himself, yet you are all not saying anything about yourselves." Beth said

"We already told him our names right? Thats already enough to know who we are." A lady said as they all agree

"I think you are all just spoiled. Since you girls only know how to please your egos." Beth said, now a bit angry

"Whoa there beth, please calm down. Its now getting a bit hot in here." John said

"Now that you said it, its really getting a bit hot." A lady said as they all agree, and where beth calms down

"You know girls, its great and all that you want an opportunity and a stable source of income, but its all pointless if you wont love the man. True, that your life will be easier if you go with a rich man, but your life will be fulfilling if your with the one you love. Believe me, I know." John said

"Just what are you talking about--" a lady said when she was cut off

"I can sort of relate. My life has literally been a living hell, until I met my savior, mr johnny storm. So I researched all about him, and found that he was just among the normal people until the event happened to him." Beth said

"So you are the only one going for the opportunity right?" A lady said

"Nope. I realized that no matter what the status, I will always love the man who save my life. That is if he is also worthy of my love." Beth said with a smile, and before the ladies were all feeling awkward and guilty

"Then how about this girls, I will give you power, and you can decide what you will do after that. Is that a deal?" John said as the ladies were all surprised

"Yes! Its a deal!" The ladies all said with smiles

"Now then girls, please fall in line to receive your power." Beth said, now guiding the ladies

With that, john then activates all the girls one by one. And when the word spread, many then came to have themselves actuvate their mutant potential. But then, from a far away distance, the hitman shoots at john using a high powered laser. Unfortunately, there was a problem with one man that john just had to bend at lughtning speed, which the lightning barrier in his head reflected the laser and hit an innocent powerless lady at the head.

"Tch!" The hitman said in his hiding place before he escapes

"Sniper!" A man said after a scream from another lady, which drove panic to the crowd

"Stay calm people!" John shouted as he treated the man on the floor

But no matter how much john shouted, the crowd just ran towards the white house where it was safer.

"Hahh.. no one is listening." John said to himself

"Im here mr storm, what can I do?" Beth said, standing beside john

"Nothing yet. The secret service is currently moving, so its best not to do anything rash." John said as he finished treating the man

"So what will happen to him? Will that lady still be saved? And what will happen now?" Beth said

"This man has potential, but his powers are too much for his body, which is why im currently lowering his powers to suit his body. And as for that lady, she cant be saved. Since she has been hit in the head with a laser. And for now, we will explain ourselves to the FBI on any investigation they will conduct." John said as the answer left beth frustrated

After that, everyone in the party all explained their alibis, where john was asked to return to the philippines by the next day. Where john flew using a plane, and where he is to use a private jet.

"Its good and all that they sent me back without any other questions and all, but care to explain to me why you volunteered to go with me?" John said on his seatmate

"There isnt any reason for a girl to go with the one they love right?" Beth said with a smile

"And I really appreciate the ride back as well miss duntrio." Dueta said on the opposite seat

"Its fine anyways, which also makes me a bit happy, but shy at the same time." John said

"There is nothing to be embarrassed john! Just be glad that she wants to go with you as well! I bet your parents will be happy to know." Dueta said

"Yeah, I bet they will. But just what will you be doing in the country miss beth?" John said

"I havent given that much thought about it yet, maybe you will shelter me for now. And please call me beth from now on." Beth said with a smile, as she rests her head on his shoulder

"Whew! So hot!" Dueta said, teasingly

"So what happened to all the ladies that I gave power to, beth?" John said changing the topic

"You might be surprised on whats in store for you john." Dueta said

"Yeah. Just stay tuned for what will come." Beth said with a smile

"Anyways, what brings you here with us mr president?" John said

"Alright then, let me get straight to the point. I have discussed this matter along with the other world leaders, and we have come to the conclusion, to have you retire." Dueta said seriously

"What?! But isnt it too early for him to retire?" Beth said

"Yes, I know. But the world leaders and I all agreed to it due to his rough handling of the terrorist and rebels issue. And as we have no other issues yet, aside from those issues, we think it is best to just call you when we need you." Dueta said

"Meaning that since you guys cant quite handle me on how I should do things, you just retire me. Is that right?" John said as dueta has no comment

"Why dont you take it mr storm? Its not like anyone can kill you conveniently anyways." Beth said

"Thats a bit of a rude thought, but shes maybe right." Dueta said

"But what will I suppose to be doing now? And shes now my responsibility as well you know." John said referring to beth

"Cant you support her with just your store? I mean, its a good business." Dueta said

"I would rather have her do the job that she loves instead of the work we do at the store, though I mean no offense to the store." John said as beth was moved

"Alright then. We will support you if you happen to know what you will do from now on." Dueta said

"Seems fair enough." John said, now a bit happy

"How about something related to science and tech? You do love those subjects right?" Beth said

"Oh yeah! There is always that option. Though I dont know if it will work or not." John said

"I believe you can do it. If you ever need someone in sales, I may also be able to help you with that." Beth said

"Alright then, I have decided on what I would like to do, if possible." John said

"If its within my power, then consider it done." Dueta said with a smile
