Chapter 64

"Its not your time yet john."

"But we will be waiting for you."

John hears whispers in his dreams, all before he woke up.

"Ugh.. where am I?" John said as he slowly wakes up in a damp place while only in his undies

"Looks like you are awake now." A girl said, as she was wearing dirty clothes, and holding 2 cups

"Who are you? And where am I?" John said

"Hey now, thats what I want to ask you. I found you, along with a dead unknown alien, right at the storm memorial." The girl said before giving him a cup. "Have a drink, you look thirsty right?"

"Yes, I am thirsty, and very hungry. Though first and foremost, just where am I? And why am I here now?" John said

"Hahh.. alright then. The name is luca shaft, and you are in the slums, right outside amarillo USA." Luca said as she opens the curtains from her own very small home. "I found you lying unconscious outside, at the storm memorial, alongside a dead unfamiliar alien."

"Oh yeah! I was actually battling blub, the other worlder frogger! And I won, through the help of the spirits!" John said after he took a sip of water from the cup. "Though I dont remember anything else from that."

"Do you remember your name and past?" Luca said as she now sits down

"Yes. Im johnny storm, and im probably lost. And just from thinking where I actually am, may I ask what is the date?" John said

"You gotta be kidding me, there is actually someone in this era who names their child johnny storm? The hero from a thousand years ago?" Luca said sarcasticly

"You mean this is a thousand years after? So this is the year 3025?" John said

"You really believe you are that johnny storm right? And not exactly. This is now the year 3050." Luca said

"Alright then. The name is john, just call me john. Can I see what the place might be like?" John said before he tries to stand

"Whoa.. dont push yourself john." Luca said as she tries to let him lie down. "Lets see places once you are well again."

"You are right. Im just a bit tired, and I dont have my full strength back yet. So maybe when im well again, we can travel." John said as he lied down. "Then tell me, on the current history that you know on whats happening to earth."

"Alright, when do you want to start?" Luca said

"At the very beginning, straight from a thousand years before, right after johnny storms disappearance." John said as luca agrees

"Going back in the past, it was said that all world leaders and the council attended the funeral, of the greatest hero of earth. Who was also a wise sage, the first mutant, the hero of worlds, the bringer of balance and justice to the universe, and the giver of new life to worlds. He was awarded with many things, and is loved by many people all over the universe. And for a brief period in time, many wars ceased in honor of him and his bravery, and his book was the next best seller as well. But slowly, throughout some years after his death, wars some wars begun yet again. Although the reptilians suggested something like a match of representatives, to determine who will be the winner instead of causing so many deaths just to determine who is right, but their suggestion wasnt taken." Luca said

"I see. And then? There is more to the story right?" John said

"I knew you werent from these parts, but to think you dont know your history, when everyone knows of it." Luca said, frustrated

"Just tell me please." John said

"Hahh.. fine. In the current world affairs right now, I dont really quite know the details, but it seems that there is a rumor. That the current council, which also has humans in it now, doesnt get along that much." Luca said

"Hmm.. if you dont know that much, then it cant be helped. What else is there?" John said

"Hmm.. oh! And religion now is dwindling in numbers, even though the bible is still the worlds best seller. Maybe they just buy it for past literature or something." Luca said

"I see. I cant decide yet whether that news would be good or bad, though I would really need to see things for myself. If only there is a TV here." John said

"That old thing? We recently go by wearables to watch the news and stuff." Luca said as she tapped on the device in her ear.

As she tapped the device, it then brought out 2 small screens in both eyes at a certain distance, for her to see something.

"Wow! Can I also have one of those?" John said, with sparkling eyes

"Im afraid that may not be possible, unless if you plug yourself with the device itself." Luca said, showing her upper back which was connected with the device through a thick wire

"Oh.. im afraid I may not have the courage to have that kind of plug in. And one question though, just how old are you?" John said

"Im currectly 18 this year, but if you are wondering about the age requirement for this kind of device, its all optional and must be plugged in when the child is now in their high school years. And this has been the law for a while now, so this is practically legal." Luca said

"Is there anything that can also let me see the news and stuff?" John said

"There is always the cap." Luca said

"Whats that?" John said

"Its a bit old, though still used by the military and other people for all kinds of things. But its also a bit pricey." Luca said

"I see. Well thats inconvenient." John said

"Yeah. But since there are still many people who doesnt want the free option, which is why they would go for the cap." Luca said

"So the other type is free? As long as you get the surgery for it right?" John said

"Yes. The government is really trying to make the people wear the free ones instead of the caps, which are safer. Its really a good thing that the old international law still stands, that wearing of the comm devices must be optional." Luca said

"Hmm.. seems fair enough. Though I would hope that no one would go through something like that cause its free, its might also be one way to do business, even if it seems a bit wrong." John said

"Well, if you put it like that, then I cant just comment on it. But I do think an operation like this is unethical." Luca said

"Anyways, I will now go to sleep. Is it night time now?" John said

"Yeah, you are right. I will also sleep now. Dont ever try to do anything funny alright?" Luca sa as she slept beside john

The next day..

"Ughh.." luca said as she woke up. But after a second of loading her thoughts, she found that john wasnt there in his bed. "John!" She said as she got up and went out of her place, only to find that he was already talking with other people

"Oh! Good morning luca!" John said as he is now back in his space suit. "You cleaned my suit, thanks!" He said with a smile

"Whew! So you were only here. Dont ever give me a heart attack!" Luca said as she walk towards him

"Sorry about that. It seems that I would need that tour from you after all luca." John said with a smile

"Alright then. Though you sure you are alright being in that suit?" Luca said

"Yeah, its a bit comfy once you get used to it." John said before he said his goodbyes to the other poor people

After that, they then began their little tour.
