Chapter 10:

Making You Suffer

mission outcome: unclear_

A few minutes ago a young man was prancing along a corridor of Building F in the year 3336 towards a certain office. He was in such a good mood that he felt like whistling a tune but unfortunately, he had to restrain himself as he didn’t want to be discovered. And he didn’t have much time until the security cameras turned back on.

Upon reaching the door of the designated office, he scanned the wristband device he had modified earlier by overwriting the command to recognize him as someone who has the authority to have entrance to this part of the building.

The door opened without a sound and closed just the same after he stepped in. He had ten minutes until the cameras turned back on and Dr. Rostensky returned to her desk soon after. So he had to hurry.

After entering the room, he went straight to her desk and scanned his modified wristband to get full access to her computer. Then, he searched for a file among the files of all the people who had been there in the past week or so to find what he had been looking for.

The file in question looked the same as all the others. It had a significance only to him. According to the available data, the soon-to-be-born little boy had already gone through a sex change procedure five days ago. It was a heavily encrypted file, so obviously no one knew about it except the people concerned. Even he, only discovered this because he knew what to look for.

The mere sight of such data made his blood boil and want to grab the person who ordered this by the neck and strangle him. Because if that person did it once, who is to say he didn’t do it twice or more? He should know better than anyone what that person is capable of.

While watching the screen, he had the sudden urge to mess around a bit but unfortunately, he didn’t have enough time for that. So, he only did what he came for. Just changed a few things here and there, something that won’t be visible at first glance, so they won’t detect the change sooner than necessary. It would’ve been the best to completely reverse their reversal but that was out of the question as it would be discovered in the future the moment he does it. Still, what he did was more than enough. A grin spread across his face as he imagined what their expression would look like when they realized what happened.

After he finished, he encrypted the file the way it was before he opened it. He wasn’t afraid that anyone would discover what he had done. He knew that no one would take a look into this file as no one would detect anything abnormal. And he knew for a fact that the patient wouldn’t ever need any serious medical attendance in the future, as he was made to be the healthiest as he could be. So his unique traits won’t be discovered. Not until he wants them to.

He left everything in the room in the same condition he found it in. What was turned off, remained turned off, and what was turned on, was turned on when he left.

He left the building just in time when everything went back to its starting phase. He watched from the distance as the doctor went back to her office then he left for good.

When he returned to the year 3366 everything was the same as if he didn’t even leave. Except...

He watched that person talk, smile and just move in front of him and felt immense hatred well up in his heart knowing that person had taken everything away from him. Everything that could have been his. This alone had been enough drive for him to do what he had done. He felt no regret and even when he looked into that person’s eyes, the only thing that came to his mind was ‘You deserve it’.

Now that the first step is done, he only has to wait until he can move on to the second part. It won’t be easy to do that but everything has a price and he is willing to pay it. Unlike a certain bastard, who has it easy and always uses underhanded methods to get what he wants. But not anymore.

He is going to show him that things do not always go as he planned them.
