Chapter 3:

The Massacre of the Village - Another World Arc

Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World

“How do you feel, Hiroshi?” Kuro-Yami asked in a concerning tone. Since Kuro-Yami fused with Hiroshi, he could talk to him in his mind, just like a voice in his head. Hiroshi was just glad that the voice in his head was kind in tone for once.

“I feel fantastic, Kuro-Yami. You had this much power?!” he gasped, feeling the darkness flow through him. “I love it!”

“I’m glad your alright after that. I didn’t know how you would take it,” the Darkness Demon admitted. Hiroshi just shook his head and smiled.

“It’s okay, honestly.”

Hiroshi looked around the village. The atmosphere had completely changed. What was once a cheerful village celebrating a public execution had turned into fear and dread for what was to come. Hiroshi was loving every second.

“Kuro-Yami, I want to make a world of selfless people. People that can support each other. Love one another. Fight for each other until their last breath. This village has none of those people. Just filthy degenerates that take joy in other people’s suffering. They had you chained up and wanted to execute me. People like that shouldn’t have the right to live, should they?”

If Kuro-Yami could smile, he would. He knew he chose well and was going to put all of his faith in Hiroshi.

“I think we deserve good old fashion revenge. What do you say, friend?” Kuro-Yami asked. A demonic grin appeared on Hiroshi’s face.

“Yes, we do, friend.”

The villagers trembled in fear. The man that was sent to be publicly executed had broken fused with that demon and broke out of his chains. What’s more, the man had begun talking to himself on the stage. The buff man from before pulled a dagger from his pocket slowly.

“H-How?! You really were a demon, weren’t you?! Die, you filthy creature!” he cried as he charged at Hiroshi with the dagger. The buff man stabbed Hiroshi, right in the chest, and twisted it. The buff man smiled to himself. He had done it. So easily too.

Or so he thought.

His arm started getting pulled into Hiroshi’s body. With a yelp, he dropped the knife and fell back. His mouth was open in shock. Hiroshi’s whole body was covered in a black mist. There was no blood at all. Not a drop. There wasn’t even a mark on his chest. The black mist pushed the knife out of his chest, and it fell to the floor with a clatter. The buff man was speechless as Hiroshi made his act of war on the world.

“I’m no demon. I’m a damn God,” Hiroshi laughed manically as he punched the buff man in the stomach. The buff man flew back at a speed faster than the eye could see. He slammed into a village house and went right through the wall. He didn’t move from that spot.

“You should have listened to us when you had the chance,” both Kuro-Yami and Hiroshi said as they jumped off the stage and walked towards the villagers. They began running away in terror. Hiroshi lifted his right hand and enveloped three villagers in a darkness blacker than death itself. He used his left hand to destroy a house in his peripheral vision. Hiroshi was laughing the whole time. He loved every second. Finally, he could make the world a nice place for all humankind. It would be just like beautiful nature back in his old world.

He stood in the middle of the village, and with a menacing yell, let the darkness overrun the whole settlement. It spewed out on the ground in a circular movement. Houses and villagers alike were swallowed in the radius of the darkness. With a dramatic arm movement, Hiroshi swung his hands down and within the blink of an eye, he had swallowed the whole village in his darkness.

“Wow…you are a wonderful person, Kuro-Yami,” he gasped for breath, exhausted at his new power.

“Thank you, Hiroshi. I tried my best for you,” Kuro-Yami replied from the inner conscious. Hiroshi staggered through the village. There were no bodies, no houses, no pathway. Nothing. It was almost as if it never existed in the first place.

“Say, Kuro-Yami, what does it feel like to kill people?” Hiroshi asked. Kuro-Yami thought hard for a moment before replying.

“I never really had a choice. When they forced me to absorb all those criminals, I don’t have the ability to let them leave. I had to consume them. I didn’t want to. I didn’t enjoy it, but I thought that if I killed them, the world would have one less criminal. If I had let them fuse with me, they would have used me for bad purposes. We have the same goal, Hiroshi. That’s why I didn’t kill you. Oh, and you’re a good person too.”

“I see, well thanks, you are too. Well, this is my first time killing people. It feels wrong but oddly satisfying because they mistreated us. Is that evil?”

“You will get used to that, trust me, I feel the same way right now,” Kuro-Yami responded.

Hiroshi shrugged and walked to where the pathway was supposed to be. He walked for roughly half an hour, until he approached another village.

“Here we are, Kuro-Yami! These people had better be a lot nicer to me!” Hiroshi exclaimed.

Little did he know, this is where Hiroshi and Kuro-Yami’s adventure would just begin.
