The deadly battle between the wild fox-demon, who had fully taken control over Ryuji, and Maximus had finally begun. Maximus, now fighting seriously, faced off against the ferocious Ryuji, who lunged at him with raw, untamed power. Maximus used his speed manipulation to dodge Ryuji’s relentless attacks, countering with precise strikes. They fought like madmen, the battlefield around them becoming a blur of fiery and shadowy chaos.
Ryuji, in his demon fox form, roared and attacked with a ferocity that shook the ground beneath them. His crimson flames scorched the earth, leaving trails of fire in his wake.
Maximus, with his enhanced speed, moved like a blur, dodging the vicious swipes and claws of the demon fox. "Speed Burst!" he shouted, using his ability to accelerate his movements to almost teleportation speed, striking Ryuji from multiple angles.
Ryuji roared, his eyes glowing with a malevolent light, and lunged at Maximus again. His claws, wreathed in crimson flames, slashed through the air. Maximus narrowly evaded, countering with a rapid series of strikes using his katana, each blow infused with his speed manipulation power. "Velocity Strike!" Maximus yelled, his blade cutting through the air with a sharp whistle.
Meanwhile, on another part of the battlefield, Rayas was holding his own against both Kenjiro and Oniroshi. Rayas, with his shadow manipulation, summoned dozens of corpses from the darkness, overwhelming his opponents. Kenjiro, using his slime manipulation, created powerful tentacles to strike at Rayas, but the shadow puppets blocked his attacks. "Slime Torrent!" Kenjiro shouted, sending a wave of corrosive slime towards Rayas.
Oniroshi, wielding his ice manipulation powers, launched sharp icicles towards Rayas. "Frost Barrage!" he cried, the air around him turning frigid as he sent a barrage of icy projectiles at Rayas. Rayas, however, moved with shadowy agility, dodging the attacks and retaliating with shadowy tendrils that whipped out towards Oniroshi and Kenjiro.
Rayas sneered, his eyes glowing with dark power. "You think you can defeat me? You’re nothing compared to the power of shadows!" He summoned more shadowy corpses, the battlefield around him becoming a nightmarish landscape of darkness and death.
Kenjiro realized the difficulty of the battle. "This is getting out of hand," he muttered. "Curse Release!" he shouted, his body enveloped in a surge of energy. The slimes surrounding him merged with his body, transforming him into a human-kraken hybrid, with eight powerful slime arms and a solid trident. "Kraken Form!" he roared, charging at Rayas with newfound strength.
Kenjiro hurled his trident with immense force. "Slime Trident!" The weapon shot through the air, aiming straight for Rayas. Rayas dodged using his shadows, but Kenjiro’s trident returned to him, ready for another strike.
As this intense battle raged on, Shion fought on another side of the battlefield against the warriors of Kurei-Kage. She heard a roaring sound and looked around, her eyes widening in shock. She saw a huge demon fox, about twice the size of a human, engaged in a fierce battle. "What the hell is that monster? Is it an ally or an enemy?" she wondered aloud.
Orion, fighting beside her, replied, "Let's rush there and see for ourselves." Shion nodded, and together they rushed towards the massive demon fox.
Back in the thick of the fight, the demon fox (Ryuji) and Maximus continued their deadly battle. Both were severely wounded, their movements slowing but no less deadly. Maximus, his face twisted in determination, pulled off a bracelet from his wrist. The demon-faced bracelet, an artifact used by higher officers in the demon army to control their powers, now unleashed his full potential.
Maximus's speed and strength doubled, and he gained the ability to manipulate the speed of any object he touched. With his katana in hand, he charged at Ryuji, concentrating all his power into the blade. "This will end you, Ryuji!" he shouted, his voice echoing across the battlefield.
The demon fox roared, its eyes blazing with fury, and attacked with its massive claws. But Maximus, with his enhanced speed, dodged the attack and boosted the speed of his katana, driving it straight through Ryuji's heart. The demon fox let out a pained roar, its form shimmering and then collapsing into Ryuji's human form.
Ryuji fell to his knees, his katana slipping from his grasp, blood pouring from his chest. Kenjiro, Oniroshi, and Rayas witnessed the scene. Kenjiro shouted, "Ryuji!" His voice filled with anguish.Rayas smirked while continuing his battle against Oniroshi and Kenjiro. Shion arrived at the scene just in time to see Maximus with his katana through Ryuji's chest. "Ryu... ji..." she whispered, her voice breaking.
Ryuji, barely able to move, met her eyes and gave a slight smile, his expression filled with pain but also relief. "Shi... on..." he tried to speak, his voice weak.
Maximus pulled out his katana, and Ryuji fell to the ground. The battlefield, once filled with the sounds of clashing swords and shouting warriors, seemed to fall silent for Ryuji as he hit the ground.
Inside Ryuji, a voice spoke. "Finally! I can reach you, Ryuji!" The voice was unfamiliar, not Kuro's. Who could it be? So many questions filled Ryuji's mind as the chapter ended.
