Chapter 106:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
As the curtains rolled over, the play started with Act I. Kanako was ready to capture the full drama from the front row. It was exactly 10 o' clock. The drama started with the narrator saying its name, "Despised Delight".
Act I:
The turning of pages could be heard as a sly girl with yellow hair sat in the middle of the bed. Her condition was not good, and she had to stay indoors all her life. Her sickly face had shadowed the beauty she wore. The only thing she does now is stay in bed and read books. Turning the pages over and over again until she finished the book.
"I have finished this book three times already... I am bored of it... when will writers write their new book?" The princess— the part Ayane is playing— murmured to herself, before getting out from her comfy mattress and sitting beside the window, appreciating the scenery. The surroundings were all green low land, with a few trees. But what she often looked at for hours is the river that flew from one edge of her eyesight to the other, and the crackling sound of the water with the rocky bottom. The water was clear, and beautiful to behold.
"I wonder what it feels like to be out there, I am sure it feels nice..." The princess, who was still in her pyjamas, was bored of the 16 years of lsolation. Is her sickness really that severe that she couldn't get out? The what about the children that she saw playing freely in the land without any worry?
She wanted to be free, free from this isolation, but she couldn't in fear that she might die. After all, the thought of death is scary.
She was the daughter of a duke of a land very faraway from the royal capital. In terms of nobility, they were the poorest of the poor. But being poor like that had some good side to it. Otherwise she would have to bear of the noise of the capital everyday, impeding her reading time. Besides, she wouldn't have been able to see this beautiful scenery of the river with the vast plain land.
"Good morning, have you been doing well, princess?" The maid greeted her, "Your friends have arrived and want to meet you, should I allow them inside?"
"Oh, so they have arrived! Please let them enter." The princess clasped her hands in excitement.
"We are here, princess Angelica" One of the three friends addressed the princess, who were sitting beside the window.
"I have been waiting for you guys! And stop with that honourifics, please."
"You are like a princess to us, we can't do that."
They were the friends of Angelica, the daughter of the duke, the princess of their land. They would always come to their house and have girl chat and enjoy from the afternoon till night. They were childhood friends.
"Still princess... you look supper adorable with that pink pyjamas! How cute!!" The friends embraced her in excitement. "Let's talk until nighttime, shall we?"
"Well-" The princess looked excited. "I would love if you guys stay for dinner tonight too!"
"If you don't mind then sure!" They said in unison.
