My driver had just pulled into the audition grounds when I noticed a commotion outside my backseat window.

“Wait.” I signaled for my driver to stop.

At the front gates of the venue, a boy and two other girls were engaged in a heated argument with the staff at the check in post.

The three of them resembled high schoolers, and one of the girls was handicapped and was sitting in a wheelchair.

She had thick blond hair, and was wearing what resembled a half-finished crown on her head.

I rolled down the window to get a better listen on the situation.

“Are you freaking kidding me right now?! After I calmly explained the situation to you, you still called security on us?!”

“Look ma’am, this is not what you think. The device on her head, it doesn’t operate on the same level as a contraband. She should be allowed to audition just like everybody else. Please let us pass.”

I was suddenly interested in what was happening. It was clear the boy and the girl were fighting for the right of the handicapped girl to participate in the auditions, but why wasn’t the staff allowing them to pass.

“Young man, I advise you step away right now. You are already in a lot of trouble for building that thing. Just hope they give you a shorter sentence since it looks like you all are just a bunch of high schoolers.”

As the staff addressed the other two, the girl in the wheelchair turned around to leave.

That’s when I saw it.

There was something pressed up against the blond girl’s chest.

A device.

And the thing the girl was wearing on her head.

It looked like a contraband.

Suddenly, I started to get a better understanding of the situation.

The girl was trying to enlist the use of technology in her audition.

But why?

Wasn’t she aware it was against the rules?

The girl and the boy soon realize their friend had left.

They ran in opposite directions to look for her.

Security from within the interior suddenly streamed out of the venue to look for them.

“Mikasa?” I called out to my assistant who was seated in the passenger side of the vehicle, while I kept my eyes on the security personnel who had just came out of the building.

“Yes, miss Airi?”

“Give the manager a call, and tell him to not go after the high schoolers. If he tries to resist, offer him enough zeros to change his mind.”

“Right away Miss Airi.”

“Also, keep an eye on the girl that ran in the wrong direction. Find out where she lives. I want to talk to them when the time is right.”

“Yes, Miss Airi.”

“Thank you, Mikasa. Now driver, please take us in.”
