Chapter 110:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
There seemed to be no place to escape to. The prince had captured his prey. Who knows what he will do to her now. She gave up, tears coming down her cheeks.
"Now now... if you cry you would ruin the whole thing!! Now shut up-"
Just then, the flicker of hope appeared in front of her. The windows flew out of the hinges and hit the head of the prince, making him fall to the ground and groan in agony. As the princess looked, she saw the face of the Artist in front of her.
Act II:
"Lets escape from this place, shall we? I have seen places more beautiful in this world that I want to show you." He said as she carried the Princess and jumped out of the window.
They ran through the vast land, that enclosed the house of the duke rand traversed through uncharted land. All of which is new to the Princess who was confined in her room for her life.
"This is amazing! I have never experienced this before!!" She screamed in amazement.
"I know right! But there is more!" They two hurried their pace.
They ran through even after sunset. It was after sunset that they saw that people were trailing them from behind. The lights of the trailers had lit up, and it looked like an army.
"Don't let them escape after they had dared to humiliate me!! Follow them! They are on sight!!" The price slashed the horse with his whip angrily, trying to make it move quicker.
"Oh no.. they are almost catching up to us!" The Princess panicked.
"Tsk... we were almost in the border of this country too..."
"What should we do? If we are caught... we will be executed..."
"I have a plan..." he said with a bit of sadness in his face, but the Princess didn't know why.
If front of them was a river, it was probably the same river that flowed beside her mansion. But the river was quite big.
"Pull the arrows!!!" The prince commanded with his full voice. The princess and the artist could hear it.
The Artist picked up the Princess on his arms and crossed through the shallow river as an act of desperation. The crown prince's army was very close to the shore of the other side. The Artist quickly placed down Angelica.
"Go through the forest, you will find a town, you can live your life freely there, and don't worry about me."
"Huh..? What... about you?"
"You don have to worry about me... now GO!!"
The archers of the crown prince's army already pulled their arrows and prepared for attack, the Artist went in front as a shield, as the arrows showered from the other side.
"Princess... it was nice knowing you. I don't know your name but, I wish you live a happy life from here. Please go, your life has more value than a commoner like me." He said that in a sad tone, but Princess Angelica wasnt moving. There was a forset behind them, and going through meant achieving victory. But she didn't move an inch.
"Go!!" He pushed her through the forest. There was a steep at the beginning of the forest, and she fell down that steep. But it wasn't enough to kill her or make her unconscious.
The Artist went in front and stood in front of the showering arrows, accepting his fate.
"I am glad to have this life... I was able to be helpful to someone..." he uttered his final words...
The Artist got showered with thousands of arrows and died of blood loss, on the border between the two countries. But the princess was saved due to his desperate efforts. The princess knew he had sacrificed himself to save her and sat in the forest sobbing.
Later, she explored through the forest and found an exit, from where a village started. She would then stay there for the rest of her life...
The End.
