Chapter 3:
The Children of Eris - Reborn
When David awoke, he found himself in a world where everything was grey.
The distant, snowy mountains, the vast open fields filled with wild beasts, even the grass blades by his feet were grey. There were birds and other winged creatures in the sky, frozen in place as if someone had paused the entire universe.
“Where am I?”
Time was still, yet he could move, talk and think.
“Eris’s doing, no doubt."
He tried to walk around, but he hit an invisible barrier.
If I can’t leave, then there must be something else coming.
As if responding to his thoughts, twelve stone tablets fell onto the ground around him, each covered in glowing text.
He picked up a random tablet and, at the very top, it said: Mara - Demon of Temptation.
It was then that David remembered that Eris had said he would get to pick three demons to serve him loyally, in order to give him a chance at establishing himself as the Demon Emperor within a year, a prospect that made David’s heart ache.
He was sacrificing this world for him and his family’s lives and he had only a year to bring about a demonic empire, his demonic empire.
David pushed those thoughts to one side; it didn’t matter if he had made the right choice or not now.
He had agreed to become the Demon Emperor and couldn’t turn back now.
“Guess I best look through the lot."
Initially, David had been worried that Eris would just give him random demons to serve him, or just a list of names and no information. Eris had given him some information to off on, but it wasn’t much, meaning he’d have to use his own knowledge and the information on each tablet to decide.
Abaddon - Demon of Destruction; gifted in devastation and overflowing with power
Chort - The Deceptive Dealer; conducts trades to give and steal power
Djall - Demon of Death; gifted with Necromancy and great strength
Iye - The Guardian; powerful protector with great strength
Jikininki - The Human Eater; a ghost who craves to devour humans
Leshy - Demon of the Woods; gifted with Earth and Conjuration Magic
Legion - Many from Few; an army of identical soldiers to wage war with
Mania - The Goddess of Death; mother of the Undead and Succubi
Mara - Demon of Temptation; powerful succubus
Mímir - Lord of Knowledge; provider of information and wisdom
Ose - Commander of Legion; controls an army of demons
Rahab - Demon of Rage; extremely powerful, extremely dangerous, extremely angry
After David read each tablet twice, he let out a weary sigh.
He had no idea where to start.
When David was going through the list of demons, he had been concerned about trusting the information that Eris had given him. For example, what if the demons he had to choose from didn’t exist in his world, or what if Eris had chosen names of demons that David would know but then changed how powerful they were and what they could do just to mess with him, which would result in him choosing poorly?
However, those fears were quickly dashed when he saw that the descriptions of the potential generals lined up with what David knew about them, and that their names came from cultures across the world, so, in David’s mind, they were ones from his world as he knew them.
He had to think carefully about who he should pick and he wanted to pick only those who would be useful to him in the long term, not just the short term. Some of them sounded like they could be useful in the beginning, like Legion, but David didn’t know how easy or difficult it would be for him to raise an army in this new world with the natives or with magic.
Likewise, given that he had been dropped off in a vast empty field by Eris with no signs of human life anywhere near him, David didn’t want to have a large army that he’d have to move around from the get go and potentially get spotted by some soldiers. If he had a large army in the beginning but nowhere to house them and no ways to keep them fed, they’d be a detriment that would get him killed.
Further, Conjuration magic and Necromancy both seemed to exist in this world, so he might be able to rely on them to create an army.
So, he decided not to pick Legion or Ose.
As he was putting Ose’s tablet to one side, he re-read the description of Rahab’s tablet that had been below it and frowned.
Rahab, Demon of Rage; extremely powerful, extremely dangerous, extremely angry
“He sounds more like a liability than anything."
He discarded Rahab’s tablet.
He considered Chort for a while, until a dreadful thought crossed his mind; what if Chort tempted him successfully into accepting a dangerous deal, forcing him to lose some of his powers that he had gained from Eris? Though, he wasn’t sure that Chort would do something like that, but David wasn’t convinced that Chort could be of use in the long run.
Takes and gives you power. That sounds far too suspicious and far too difficult to use effectively.
So, he discarded Chort too.
Then, Iye; David didn’t need someone who was just a protector, he needed a strong warrior and fighter, not a defender who wouldn’t leave his side.
David then removed the Jikininki from his selection as well.
The reason was simple enough; it craved eating humans. If its cravings became too strong or too uncontrollable, then it could prove risky to have the Jikininki at his side, even if it was powerful.
After all, David imagined that he and his generals would have to stay in hiding for a good while yet and the last thing he needed was an out-of-control demon indiscriminately hunting, killing and eating humans.
Despite discarding half of the demons already, David still found himself stuck on who to pick when he noticed that some of the demons did the same things as one another.
Djall - Demon of Death; gifted with Necromancy and great strength
Abaddon - Demon of Destruction; gifted in devastation and overflowing with power
Mania - The Goddess of Death; mother of the Undead and Succubi
Mara - Demon of Temptation; powerful succubus
David picked up Mara and Mania’s tablets and began comparing the two directly.
Demon of Temptation; Goddess of Death. Why is it that only Mania was called Goddess and the rest were demons?
In his studies, David had stumbled across a few references to a deity named Mania, but had never dived any further than that. However, he knew that Mara was a demon from Buddhism who tried to tempt the Buddha away from Enlightenment.
Mara, in David’s mind, was not a succubus per say, but perhaps the Gods themselves thought differently to humans.
David decided that he would pick Mania as one of his three and put Mara’s tablet to one side, a decision David was very confident in.
Mania was listed as a Goddess among a list of demons and there had to be a reason why, or else Eris wouldn’t have bothered to make such a point of it. Further, unlike Mara who only had succubus written as their title, Mania was, David hoped, both a powerful succubus and a Necromancer, meaning she was just more useful and stronger by far than Mara.
In theory, at least.
Unless David chose them both, he’d never know.
Then, a sudden realisation hit him.
No matter who he picked, he would never know if he chose right, or if he had dismissed the strongest being in the world because he didn’t know enough about them.
If I choose the wrong ones, I could find myself dead in a ditch within a month, meaning my family would be killed and I’d suffer an eternity of agony, David’s body began to shake as he imagined the immense pain Eris had already inflicted upon his body. He slapped his cheeks a few times and tried to calm himself down.
He didn’t have the luxury to worry about that possibility.
He had to decide and he had to be confident with who he chose, even if he messed up.
Leshy’s powers didn’t sound too impressive to David and he feared that his Conjuration Magic could have limits placed on it, such as what creatures he could spawn and a cap on the number he’d be allowed at once, like in an RPG.
If it was like some of the ones David had played before, then, at max, he’d be allowed four low level summoned creatures or one really powerful one.
Thus, David discarded it, leaving three: Abaddon the Demon of Destruction, Djall the Demon of Death and Mímir the Lord of Knowledge.
David picked back up Mímir’s tablet and made sure he had read it right.
It was another unique name, just like Mania’s had been.
If Eris has done this on purpose, then it might be a sign that he’s really powerful, or really weak. That said, I don’t know anything about this new world, so I need to gather as much information as I can on everything I can think of.
Despite his confidence in what Mímir could do, he wasn’t sure if he would live up to his expectations, especially depending on when he was summoned from his legend.
Still, David had to take a gamble.
He placed Mímir’s tablet on top of Mania’s.
Then, David had to choose his final pick: Djall or Abaddon.
Both sounded powerful, both possessed great strength, and where Djall was a Necromancer and warrior, it seemed that Abaddon was only about physical strength.
Abaddon could have the greatest physical strength among all these demons, but that seems to be all he has going for him.
On the other hand, Djall is both a warrior and a Necromancer, and he could outclass Abaddon in strength or Mania in her capabilities as a Necromancer, but would he really be stronger than an all-out fighter or a Goddess of Death? Chances are he’ll be weaker. There’s no way that Eris would let me pick someone that powerful.
David looked back and forth between the two tablets for a minute, struggling to decide between the two, before finally settling on Abaddon, putting his hope in the demon’s raw strength and that would make up for his lack of Necromantic abilities.
“You guys better pull your weight,” David mumbled, discarding Djall.
The moment he did, the tablets began to glow and shake, before firing bright blasts of energy into the sky, blinding David and causing him to jump back and trip over the discarded tablets.
The tablets dropped to the ground and shattered into dust, the blasts of light still just as powerful before him, and three figures began to forge in front of him.
As soon as the figures had fully formed, colour returned to the world and time moved onwards.
The figures dropped to one knee.
When each introduced themselves, they lifted their heads and spoke loudly and clearly to their new master.
“Abaddon, Demon of Destruction, your loyal servant, Lord Emperor.”
Abaddon was a tall, extremely muscular demon wearing demonic looking plate armour that complimented his title perfectly. It looked like it was made of molten rock and he had glowing orange eyes like a furnace beneath his helmet.
I hope he’s as strong as he looks.
“Mania, Goddess of Death, at your service, Master.”
Unlike Abaddon, Mania was sparingly wearing her armour. She was dressed in a short corset dress made of metal and plate greaves, and had fingerless chainmail gloves that reached to her elbows, leaving her bloodred, knife-like nails on display. She had a whip and satanic-looking dagger at her hips and large bat wings sprouting from her back.
It wasn’t a practical outfit to wear in battle, but David assumed she dressed in such revealing clothes because she was a succubus.
Perhaps when she’s in battle she’ll wear more armour.
She also had a beautiful face, long ebony hair and her eyes were a deep shade of red.
As David stared at her, Mania looked up and met his gaze, smiling seductively at him.
Under normal circumstances, David would’ve been enchanted by her looks.
“Mímir, Lord of Knowledge. Ready to serve, your majesty.”
Mímir was wearing grey leather armour with a thin white scarf wrapped around his neck, a sword strapped to his side and plenty of daggers strapped in belts across his body. His eyes were a soulless grey and his hair was snow white.
He was also wearing gloves that were made from leather but had metal lining the top of them, and razor-sharp fingertips at the end connected to wires wrapped in a container on the back of his hands.
Out of every possibility that David had imagined Mímir would look like, he hadn’t expected him to look like a rogue out of an RPG.
When he had first chosen Mímir, David had been worried about his own decision for one crucial reason; in Norse legends, Mímir was beheaded during a great war and his head was then kept by Odin and gave him wisdom.
However, David had gambled on the possibility of Eris not giving him a literal human head as a servant and, thankfully, it had paid off.
Maybe the scarf around his neck hides the scar.
Suddenly, a burning, throbbing pain spouted in his head. David groaned in agony as his vision went hazy and he struggled to keep his balance.
What the-?!
The pain grew again and David bit his lip to stop himself from crying out in pain.
“Lord Emperor? Are you feeling alright?”
David snapped back to his servants as the pain began to die down. They were all looking up at him with expectant, if slightly concerned, eyes.
Whatever that pain had been, he didn’t have time to worry about it.
Right now, he was the Demon Emperor.
“You must live the character in their entirety to be able to act as them.”
“I am fine, Abaddon,” David said in the deepest and most powerful voice he could make. “I was merely a little exhausted from being summoned here.”
Reassured, Abaddon nodded and lowered his head again.
“Master, we eagerly await your commands."
“Indeed. Your majesty, what is our first move?”
First move?
“Before that, I want to ask you all this; do you all know the reason why I summoned you all here?”
“Yes,” Abaddon said. “We are your loyal servants, Lord Emperor, and exist only to serve you.”
“It is also our pleasure to assist you in fulfilling your ambitions, Master,” Mania added with a bright smile.
“My ambitions?”
Right…of course.
David let out a low laugh.
For Eris’s setting to work, it had to be David’s plan to conquer the world, not hers.
Right now, he wasn’t David Athelward; he was the Demon Emperor.
“Yes, but, for now, that is nothing more than a dream. It is a dream that we will make a reality, slowly but surely. However, for now, we need a temporary base and information.”
“As you say, your majesty. Might I suggest that we head to the mountains for the time being?”
“Based on what reasons, Mímir?”
“We appear to be far from any nearby villages, fortress or towns but, for all we know, this open plain is travelled along frequently, meaning that our presence could be discovered right away. Therefore, I believe it would be prudent to head to the mountains and either find a cave to stay in, or create one ourselves should we need to.”
“If we need to, I’d be able to make a gigantic one in minutes!” Abaddon proudly proclaimed.
Impressive. He came up with such a well thought out idea so quickly. David smiled a little. Maybe being the Demon Emperor won’t be as hard as I thought.
“Very well. Then, let us make haste.”
***
By the time night had fallen, David and his generals had found a large, partially flooded, cave with high ceilings and a vast view that allowed them to see for miles around.
Abaddon had started a fire, conjuring flames from his hand and setting alight some wood he had found in the cave. Mania was standing guard at the mouth of the cave; her eyes were now a light blue as she gazed into the darkness, for she had the gift of night vision. Mímir had briefly left to explore their surroundings outside of the cave, checking for any potential threats and then began formulating plans to acquire the resources that they were lacking.
David hadn’t ordered them to do any of that; they had taken the initiative and come up with their own tasks to do, then asked David for his permission to act as such.
As his generals acted, David’s mind wandered as he looked down at his own body again and again.
I want to see if I still look the same or not.
After Eris had given David his power and, in her own words, remade his body at a genetic level, he wondered if she had altered his appearance at all, or if he was just the same as he had always been.
However, when they’d arrived at the cave, there was no clean water or surface where he could see his reflection clearly in it. He could ask his generals but he was worried that it might make them suspicious of him.
If David’s own generals didn’t think he was the Demon Emperor, then that could cause problems in of itself.
I don’t think my normal face is that scary. I wonder if Kara or Hailey would make fun of me for trying to act like a big, bad villain.
David closed his eyes.
Don’t think about them! If you do, you’ll get distracted and get them killed.
If I’m going to do this, I have to do it right.
He took a deep breath, opened his eyes, and exhaled. He turned his attention to his generals.
They seem capable enough so far, David thought, resting his back against a smooth rock chair that Abaddon had made for him. It’s hard to say for sure because I know nothing about this world, its people, what’s considered strong, what’s considered weak, or what kind of monsters there are.
He frowned and found his fingers digging into the chair’s arms. The thing I’m most worried about is how powerful I am. Eris said that she gave me power, but how much? Is it a lot or a little, or is it something that I have to earn?
In his old world, David had been a big fan of fantasy games and stories, as had his friends. His friends had told him about stories where people got summoned to other worlds, and that some of them acted like a game, but he never asked for any details. David remembered them telling him of stories where the protagonists could do anything with ease and others where it was just the opposite.
I need to know which end of the spectrum I’m on. If I’m meant to be the Demon Emperor, then I should be on the higher end of the scale, or have the potential to get that powerful. If I’m not, how the hell am I going to be able to do this?
“Does something trouble you, Master?”
David glanced to his side and found Mania looking at his face with a troubled expression. Then, once they made eye contact, she dropped onto one knee and lowered her head.
“Forgive my rudeness, but I worried that you were upset. When I heard the stone break, I-”
“Wait."
Mania went silent.
David looked down at his hands and, just as Mania had said, he’d broken both arms of the stone chair into tiny pieces whilst he’d been lost in thought.
David smiled.
“I’m actually in quite a good mood, Mania. All of you, stand before me.”
Without hesitation, his generals did as instructed.
Are they obedient because they have no choice, or is it because they fear me? Knowing Eris, I wouldn't be surprised if these 'loyal' generals turned on me if they didn't fear or respect me.
“Kneel,” he said and they did.
“What would you have your servants do, your majesty?”
If I only have a year to create an empire, then I can’t afford to waste too much time on things. Once I know what we’re capable off, I can plan accordingly and figure out ways of appeasing Eris and not giving in and breaking like she wants.
If I play this right, I should be able to do both; I just need to play the part of the Demon Emperor as best I can.
“If you are to be my loyal servants, I must know what you are all capable off. One by one, I want you to tell me your skills, your magical and physical capabilities, what other powers or abilities you have, what weapons you can use, and how you think you could best serve me and my ambitions. Abaddon.”
“Yes, Lord Emperor! I am a strong warrior and a good general; I can use fire magic, but I don’t know how to limit it.”
…What?
“What do you mean?”
“I’m able to use it in an attack, but can’t control its power at all, Lord Emperor.”
I already regret picking you.
“If it shames you to admit it, why confess it to me?”
“Because you are my liege lord and I will never keep anything from you.”
“Is that so?”
“Of course!”
Good to know.
“Continue."
“Yes. I can create a portal that summons Machai, but only a few of them at a time.”
What the hell is a Machai?
“How many and how often?”
“…I do not know, Master.”
David frowned. “How can you not know such important things?”
“Forgive me, Master!” Abaddon bowed. “I haven’t used the ability much, so I am unfamiliar with how it works.”
“I see. No matter. We will find out once you test it.”
“Of course, Lord Emperor. I am skilled with all weapons, but I’m best with my claymore. No matter if you asked me to be a general, a frontline fighter or your personal guard, I have the utmost confidence that I could be any of them, Lord Emperor!”
“Are you saying that I would need your protection?” David asked in a very deep voice.
“Far from it, Lord Emperor!” Upon seeing his Master's cold gaze however, Abaddon lowered his head. “I didn’t mean to insult your strength!”
David put his hand over his mouth to hide his smile.
All it took to get him that scared of me was to change my voice this little? That must mean that I am stronger than Abaddon, one of the most fearsome Demons in myth and legend.
It was then that David realised what he was doing and how it felt.
He bit his lip hard and scowled.
I’m playing right into Eris’s hands! Don't lose sight of yourself, David!
“Do not speak so carelessly from now on."
“I will be more careful, Lord Emperor!”
“Mania.”
“Yes, Master,” she said, smiling seductively. “While this might be arrogant for me to say, I am a highly skilled manipulator, a strong fighter and I can use my natural abilities as a succubus to force desires upon people as you would like.”
“Oh? As I like, you say?”
“M-Master?”
“Tell me, Mania, would you ever try to use your powers on me?”
She shot up right, her expression filled with dread. “What?”
When David had been going through the list of Demons that Eris had given him to choose from, he had worried about picking a succubus.
They were, after all, demons that made men lust for them, drain their life force or force them to do whatever they wanted them to do, and then kill them.
If Mania could turn that power on either me or the other two, I could be dead in a day.
“Master, I live to serve you and would never do something as awful as that! I would never do something like that, I swear!”
“Your majesty, may I interject?”
Oh?
“Speak.”
“While I know you were just testing her, I feel like it is mean of you to hide from her the fact that you are immune to such spells and charms.”
I am?
“Master?” Mania whimpered.
David smiled. “I’m impressed, Mímir, that you knew such things.”
Mímir bowed humbly to David. “It is a given, because you are my lord and master.”
Abaddon and Mania flinched.
A rivalry? Or perhaps there's even greater animosity between them?
“As Mímir said, I was testing you, Mania. Your answer pleases me and I trust that you will always be loyal to me and only to me.”
“Of course, Master!” She reassumed her position. “May I continue?” David nodded. “I am also a powerful necromancer and can raise, or summon, the dead with and without corpses depending on what types of undead you desire. The undead I raise with corpses will be stronger than those without but, as I know gathering corpses would be difficult, I can only guarantee that my summoned undead will prove to be valuable warriors should you need them.”
So, while she could start spawning an army for us right now, it would be best to use dead bodies instead? It might be worth killing some nearby monsters or something, raise it as an undead and have it fight a summoned undead to see how much stronger they are.
“Also, while I do have faith in my physical abilities, I am nowhere near Abaddon’s or your power. I only know how to fight with a sword, a whip or a dagger, I’m afraid, but, no matter what you command, Master, I shall do it.”
“Very good. Mímir.”
“Yes, your majesty. I excel at gathering information of any kind from any place that his majesty desires, and I would be able to infiltrate anywhere and kill anyone you wish as well.”
“Aren’t you quite confident in your abilities? That better not be your arrogance speaking.”
“It isn’t, your majesty.”
“Then, tell me, what gives you such confidence in yourself?”
“It is because I am a master of illusion magic. Whatever illusions you wish for me to conjure, I am sure that I would be able to do so.”
I’ll have to test that as well, David thought, barely able to hold back his sigh.
The more he added to his list of things to test, the more exhausted he became.
“I would also say that my physical strength slightly less than Mania’s. However, unlike Mania, I have my magically enchanted threads, the Edda, which I can manipulate at will. Due to their strength and range, I believe that I could use those in a fight to overpower Mania.
“However, unlike Abaddon or Mania, I am unable to summon creatures to your side. I am only able to create a servant that I call Ravens once a week that make for good spies and assassins. They are not overly strong in direct combat, I’m afraid.”
“A Raven?” David repeated.
“Apologies, your majesty. That is the name I give the shadow entities that I can summon.”
“I see. But you can only summon one every week?”
“…Yes, your majesty.”
“How strange.”
Mímir said nothing, but David noticed that one of his hands had curled into a fist.
Perhaps he feels like his summoning abilities are lacking compared to those two, David wondered before slumping a little in his chair. Not that I care how he feels. As long as he does what I need him to, this should all work out.
David frowned. Still, it’s strange that he can only summon such a valuable pawn once a week. That means I would only be able to get fifty-two of them in a year, meaning I’d have to use them sparingly and effectively. He clicked his tongue. No doubt this was something that Eris did to limit the amount of information I could gather.
David had hoped that, by finding out what his generals could do, he could feel a bit better about his chances of pulling off his task of becoming the Demon Emperor. Ultimately, however, even after hearing what they were all capable off, David still felt quite uneasy.
It had become more and more apparent to him throughout his conversation with his generals just how difficult the road ahead for him was going to be.
He lacked everything: an army, a base, weapons, armour, money, rations, farms, a source of clean water, influence and, most crucially of all, information.
However, David knew that he had to act and couldn’t afford to waste even a second more.
“Generals, hear me,” David bellowed, standing from his throne. “First, I am grateful for your loyalty and know that your abilities have not disappointed me. Second, while I wish to become the ruler of the whole world, that is in the long term, not in the short term; therefore, within a year, I wish to conquer whichever country we have found ourselves in.
“To do that, however, we need one thing that we are severely lacking and that is information. We must find out how large this world is, how big the country we are in is, what the terrain is like, what the people and monsters are like and, more importantly, how best we can conquer it. For that, we need reliable information and the best place we can get that is a city.
“Mímir, summon your Raven and begin scouting the area around us. Preferably, I want to know of everything that is within thirty miles of us but, should this be impossible, then the major landmarks, cities, fortresses and monsters will suffice. If possible, draw a detailed map as well for reference.”
Despite being the one to give the order, David knew that it would be impossible for Mímir to achieve, even with his abilities. However, David needed to know to what extent Mímir could perform his tasks, what he’d prioritise first and how much detailed information he would be able to gather in such a short amount of time.
“As you command, your majesty. Shall I begin?”
“Do so."
“As you wish.”
From the darkness of a cave, a shadowy figure emerged. It wore a hood that looked like a raven’s head from which its piercing yellow eyes could be seen; it had a black feathery cape and two daggers by its side. Both it and Mímir bowed to David before departing from the cave.
“Mania and Abaddon, you will come with me and we shall go hunting for prey to test our powers on. While I doubt anything can harm us, it is best to practice whenever possible.”
“Of course, Lord Emperor!”
“While I agree, Master, is there any nearby prey for us to hunt?”
The second Mania said that, David’s head began to throb in pain and he almost lost his balance, just like earlier in the day. Unlike before, however, David was able to better hide his pain and confusion.
What the hell was-?
Wait.
David looked towards the deeper part of the cave and, faintly, a few hundred metres from them, he could detect a presence of a living creature.
Not just that, he knew that it was the presence of a goblin.
How do I know that?
“Master?”
“It would seem as if there are goblins lurking deeper within the cave. They’ll make for fine practice.”
“Do you not wish to rest, Master?”
“Thank you for your concern, but it is not necessary.” David put on the best evil smile he could. “I feel rather restless at the moment.”
Mania smiled back. “As you command.”
Abaddon let out a low growl. “Even if it’s just goblins, I’ve been itching for a fight since we got here!”
“While I share your sentiments, do not let that ‘itch’ ever get the better of you. We need to make this cave our own, not destroy it.”
“Of course! I would never give in so easily to such a thing, Lord Emperor.”
“Master, shouldn’t you summon your armour first?”
A sharp stabbing agony suddenly appeared in David’s mind which was more painful than the two previous times it had happened today. It hurt, but nowhere near as much as what Eris had done to him had and, once it had subsided, he smiled.
He realised what that pain was; it was the information and memories he needed to figure out how to summon his armour in the first place. That meant that whenever he had that pain come over his mind, he would figure out how to use some other part of the powers that Eris gave him.
I don’t know how much she gave me, but it might be best to try and unlock it all at once.
“Right, I should do that, shouldn’t I?”
David quickly found the new information he had been given to invoke such a spell and he closed his eyes, absorbing every detail of the memory into his skin.
He imagined the black steel armour enveloping his body, the weight of the metal, its strength, the sinister mist flowing off it, and the mighty two-handed sword that he would wield whilst wearing it. He imagined each and every single piece of armour to the very tiniest of details and then, once he had, David opened his eyes and found the exact same suit of armour adoring his body.
David couldn’t help but smile a little when he thought about how cool he might’ve looked wearing the armour.
Even though it looks and feels this powerful, if what I found in my memories is right, this suit isn’t all that strong. It should be more than strong enough for me to fight goblins, but I don’t know how far I can go with it.
Perhaps I should ask Mímir when he comes back to find the best materials this world has to offer to make better equipment for me to use.
David snapped out of his thoughts and turned to his generals. “Then, let’s hunt some goblins!”
