Dancing on the Moon

The two teenagers were floating around the moon hand in hand, feeling all their outside worries float away. It was only the two of them in that virtual world, and that’s all they wanted right then.
A song suddenly started playing in the background singing “I’m always by your side”. It was Emma’s favorite romantic song and it was perfect for that moment. The song talked about making the other person know that she would always be there for him, it was a way to convey her feelings without having to say them. She wanted the song to reach him as words could never do.

Their space suits were light and slim, making them dance freely on the surface of the moon.

The song, the stars, the company… It was all perfect.
Nyco thanked from the bottom of his heart all the effort Emma had put into that moment. He knew what was coming at the end and his heart started racing as the minutes went by. This was the scenery she had prepared for their first kiss and it was perfect. Nyco couldn’t believe how lucky he was.

After hearing the song a couple of times on a loop, Emma turned the music off.

-Come, let’s sit over there-, she indicated

-O.. ok- he stuttered thinking of what was coming.

Emma felt happy that everything was going according to plan. All that was left was for that long awaited kiss. She knew he wanted it too but she still felt nervous. But now that she knew he wanted her, she was more excited than nervous.

They sat down at the edge of a big crater and enjoyed the view of their World looking over them. They held each other’s hands as they talked.

-This was beautiful, Em. Thank you.

-You’re welcome-, she grinned. -Did you like the song?

-Yes. Quite catchy. It really surprised me at first. How did you get it to play in the background?

-Well. I searched online for a lot of Moon Experiences where you could implement music. My dad has an Experience here too, but his is too realistic. I wanted one where you could tweak it a little bit. So I downloaded it, added the song as background noise and gave us the best view possible of the Moon.

-You didn’t have to change that, I’m already looking at the best view possible on any moon-, said Nyco as he looked into her eyes.

-pfft…-, giggled Emma trying to hold her laugh.

-What? too cheesy?

-Enough to catch a mouse-, she joked.

-Don’t tease me-, Nyco complained playfully.

Emma and Nyco looked at each other and smiled. They both felt it, this was the perfect moment. None of them wanted to look away this time even if they were nervous. They sat closer to each other and intertwined their fingers.

The shy blonde girl reached over to Nyco’s helmet and took it off gently. She was ready for their long awaited kiss. When she finally got it off she looked into his beautiful blue eyes. She felt so comfortable around him, she really felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

Unfortunately, something went wrong. A voice coming from Nyco’s suit said “Game Over” and outed him from the experience.

Emma was left there in disbelief as she saw Nyco disappear again in front of her. She then bumped her head knowing her mistake. She had forgotten to turn off the survival option, and they obviously couldn’t be on the surface of the moon without a helmet. She had just condemned Nyco.

She decided she would take her own helmet off in order to lose the game and get out of the Experience. This Experience was not like the one’s her father made, so thankfully there was no pain involved.

When she woke up in the real world, the first thing she heard was Nyco’s laugh. He was rolling on the floor laughing uncontrollably. Yve came running towards Emma wondering what was going on.

-What happened, Emma? You were only in there for a few minutes-, Yve questioned. -And why is he laughing? Did you two…?

-No, nothing happened-, Emma said, angry at herself. -And stop laughing!-, she yelled at Nyco, making him laugh even harder.

The romantic moment she had prepared for days was ruined and they were now surrounded by everyone in the middle of a party. There was no way she could make another romantic atmosphere like that again and not think of this disaster. Nyco tried consoling her but he found the events too funny and ended up worsening her mood.

She eventually gave up and started partying with the rest to keep her mind off things.
They started playing the card game “Space Wizards”. In this game they all had different wizards that battled each other. It was Nyco’s favorite game because of the prize the winner had. The winner could cast a “spell” that would make his target follow one command. It had to be something that could be done in that moment, like giving a back massage, singing a song… something like that.

They started playing and soon the commands started getting goofier and goofier.

Gyanna made Yve drink a refreshment in one go, making her fail and spill all the drink on herself. Yve won the next round and made Gyanna balance on her head a plastic cup with water as she walked around the room. She obviously failed and got soaked on her third step. AI-Juliet won the third game and made Nyco dance for all of them on top of the table. He was so badly coordinated that it made everyone laugh, especially him.

It was 21:30 PM when Yve said she needed to head home or her parents would kill her. She hugged Nyco one last time and congratulated him again for his release. Gyanna said she would go with Yve just in case she got lost on her way home. “I got lost one time going to her house! And she still doesn’t let it go” Yve complained. They all laughed as they saw them out. AI-Juliet also said she should go as Mr. Litdawn would be home soon.

-Shall we go, Emma?-, the AI asked.

-Nah, I’ll go in a while with my Warpy, I want to win at least once today-, she said with a hint of frustration. AI-Juliet chuckled seeing as she still had her competitive spirit from when she was little.

-I’m afraid she won’t be home soon-, joked Nyco.

-We’ll see about that-, the girl said with determination.

-Ok, then. I’ll let the drone here and just download myself at home. Don’t forget to take the drone with you-, AI-Juliet reminded her.

-Sure thing. Bye-bye-, the young girl said as she waved.

-Until next time-, Nyco added as they waved at each other. The hologram suddenly disappeared and the drone gently landed on the ground. -Ok then. Ready to follow all my commands?-, the boy teased.

-Oh, I’m ready. Ready to make you eat those words!-, Emma followed along with the friendly banter.

Unfortunately for her, Nyco won the next two rounds. As the game dictated, he now could make her follow his orders. The first command was for her to give him a back massage.

-Not bad, not bad, you could put a little more elbow in there though-, he said jokingly. Emma responded by tickling his armpits.

-If you want me to stop, just say it-, she said, fooling around, knowing he couldn’t say anything while he laughed.

The second command made Emma feed him dessert. He just laid back and enjoyed her bringing the spoon to his mouth.

-I could get used to this-, Nyco said.

-Well don’t.

The third round, Emma finally won.

-Well, well. You finally won-, Nyco announced with a smile. -I wonder what you’ll make me do. Be benevolent, don’t think about the things I…

-Kiss me…-, she said.

Nyco went completely silent. He looked at her and saw her cheeks starting to get red. She had had enough of waiting for the right moment, as long as it was with him, she knew she would remember it forever. Nyco glanced at her pinkish lips. He was about to kiss the girl he loved. He started feeling how his cheeks and forehead heated up.
No more words were needed, Nyco got up and sat next to her. The two timid teenagers looked each other in the eyes. The moment had finally come. Nyco leaned in to kiss the girl he cherished and wanted from the bottom of his heart. He closed his eyes and let himself go. Emma also closed her eyes waiting for the boy she adored to finally kiss her.

As their eyes were closed, they ended up bumping their noses together instead of kissing each other. This small mistake made Nyco giggle.

-pfft, sorry-, he apologized for his mistake of hitting her nose.

-shhh. Shut up and kiss me-, Emma murmured.

The boy tilted his head a little bit and approached her lips. Their mouths finally met each other in a soft and gentle kiss. They both felt a chill running down their bodies as they felt each other's lips. It was the best sensation they’ve ever had. Nyco felt his body float away as if he was still on the moon. Emma could swear she was transported to a galaxy where only the two of them existed. Nothing else mattered, only the two of them and that moment.

After a few seconds of total bliss, they finally separated their lips. Emma felt how her bottom lip clinged into his as they pulled away. They didn’t want to be separated.
The teenagers slowly opened their eyes and looked at each other.

-Wow…-, Nyco mouthed making Emma smile softly. -That was the best first kiss I’ve ever had. It definitely beats our other first kiss-, he joked.

-Nah huh, I told you the other one didn’t cou…

Nyco didn’t let her finish as he kissed her again. She didn’t mind. She just closed her eyes again and enjoyed his embrace.
