The drone

Emma’s class had a flying test that day. This test would be the 15% of their final score in Physical Education. They were all pretty nervous, especially Emma.
“Calm down, you’ve practiced a lot, so don’t worry”, she told herself.

Her two best friends, Yve and Gyanna, were really supportive that day, making Emma appreciate their friendship. They promised Emma that they would go out for dinner that night regardless of the result. Yve even gave Emma a shoulder massage in an attempt to calm her down. It didn’t work but she still thanked her for her efforts.

The three were walking to the school field when Yve spotted Nyco sitting on the spectator stands.

-Look who came to cheer you on, Em-, Yve said pointing at him. Emma looked over and saw Nyco waving at her from afar. Seeing him cheered her up immediately. She waved back and decided she would talk to him right after finishing the test.

-I still can’t believe we had to find out you were a couple through the school’s group chat-, Gyanna complained.

-Yeah, Emma. That was cold-, Yve grumbled.

-We haven’t made it official yet-, Emma said in her defense.

-Girl please… You kissed and said “I looove you” to each other. That’s the officialest a relationship can get-, Yve sentenced.

-It all happened so fast… I hate that you had to find out that way. I don’t know who took that picture-, Emma wondered.

-It’s a really good picture though. I would hang it on the wall-, Gyanna suggested.

-We’ll see. Nyco says he didn’t want people to know about us because of his reputation. But screw that! I’ve waited too long to now hide our relationship-, Emma voiced.

-Yeaaaah. That’s the brave and bold Emma I like-, Yve cheered.

Nyco watched his girlfriend walking with her friends into the school field. He sent a little prayer her way, hoping it would help her.

The test was quite simple. You had to suspend yourself in the air at about two meters high from the ground and go around the various obstacles. The PE teacher had laid a lot of cones for them to surround and many poles to fly over. Nyco smiled thinking that it looked like the type of obstacles they put in dog races.

When it was finally Emma’s turn, Nyco held his hands together hoping it went well.

Fortunately, all their hard work led to a great result. Emma did the course in one go without falling. There were a few moments where she lost her balance, but nothing severe. The whole class cheered for her. They knew it was something she struggled with and were all proud she had overcome her fears. After hugging her friends in celebration she went running towards Nyco.

They boy met her with a huge hug and a big kiss on the lips, leading to some friendly whistling from Gyanna.

-Did you see me?-, Emma asked. -I only made 2 mistakes!

-I’m afraid not. I got distracted for a second and ended up missing it. Did you pass?-, Nyco answered.

-Don’t lie! I saw you looking at me while I was flying-, she told him. -Thank you for your help, really!

-Naaah. No biggie. Just being the best boyfriend ever. No need to thank me.

-You are so dumb-, she giggled. -By the way. Don’t you have classes now?

-Well. I did skip math in order to see you-, he confessed.

-Ooooh, that’s not good. You shouldn’t skip classes, Nyco-, she scolded him.

-Yeah, yeah… Like you wouldn’t feel down if I didn’t come to cheer you on.

-Hee hee. You know me so well-. Emma said. She then gave him a light kiss as a reward.

They stayed there talking until the end of the class. Time passed so quickly when they were together. Miss Jehnfred ended up scolding Emma for staying with Nyco after the class had ended.

-Hey, lovebirds!-, she shouted. -Time to go back to your respective nests. Class is over!

-Sorry!!-, Emma shouted to her teacher. -I’ll see you later, right?-, she asked her boyfriend.

-Sure-, he reassured her with a kiss.

Emma went to the locker room feeling like the luckiest girl in the world. She had the perfect boyfriend, her friends supported their relationship, she had just passed a test she was scared about…
Everything was in place.

She took her Rocket Boots off and her gym clothes. She was the only one left at the locker room since all her class had already changed while she talked to Nyco. Emma decided she would take a quick shower to take all the sweat away. She took the towel out of her bag and went to one of the small school showers. When she opened the tap, a quiet buzz suddenly sounded on top of her. The frightened girl looked up and saw a small drone hovering over her. She quickly covered herself with her hands but, unfortunately, the damage was done.

-Ha ha haaa. Got you-, said a robotic voice coming from the drone. -Looking good Emma. No wonder you got a boyfriend-, the robotic voice chuckled.

-No… NNOOOOO-, she screamed as she got the towel and wrapped herself in it.

-It’s too late for that, sweetie. I got you on video. If you don’t break up with that boyfriend of yours, I’ll post this video in the school chat-, it threatened.

A few girls came running since they heard her scream. They tried grabbing the drone but it flew off. The girls from another class found Emma on the floor crying.

Nyco was sitting on the spectator stands when he heard a girl calling his name.

-What? What is it?-, he asked Bianca wondering what she could want from him. Nyco didn’t know her that well but almost everyone knew each other in that school.

-It’s Emma!! She is… huff…calling for you. She is in the ladies… huff… locker room-, the girl said, a little out of breath from all the running. Nyco saw in her expression that it was something serious. He thanked the girl and ran to her.

As soon as he entered the locker room, Nyco saw a bunch of girls trying to comfort Emma. She was covered with a towel and crying. When the girls saw him, they got up in order to let him get close to her. Nyco grabbed her hand and talked to her.

-What happened, Em? Are you hurt?-, he asked nervously.

-The drone snif… In the… snif… shower-. Emma could hardly talk as she tried not to cry in order to explain herself.

-What? I don’t understand. What happened in the shower?-, he asked, holding her hand, trying to calm her down.

A girl called Naiara intervened to explain the situation since Emma could hardly talk.

-Someone flew his drone inside the showers and recorded her. We tried breaking it but it was too fast and we couldn’t do it. Sorry-, Naiara apologized.

Nyco was left speechless. They just recorded her girlfriend showering. Some lowlife now had a recording of Emma in her most vulnerable state.

-Who did it?-, he asked.

-We don’t know-, Naiara answered.

-I… I think I know who it was-, Nyco said as he felt his anger rising. He got down on one knee and looked his girlfriend in the eye. -I’m going to solve this, Emma. Don’t worry-, he promised. -Please stay with her-, he told the other girls.

Nyco took Emma’s Rocket Boots from the floor and walked outside. As soon as he exited the locker room he turned them on and flew all over school looking for Lasson.

He found him on the school’s rooftop looking at his drone with his friend Erix.

-And that’s what a woman looks like, young Erix-, Lasson told his friend hugging him as they both looked at the footage from the drone. Nyco landed on the rooftop and looked at them with fire in his eyes. -Hey, Nycoooo. I gotta say, you are a lucky man. Your girlfriend is hypnotizing-, he mocked.

Nyco didn’t respond to his provocation, he just walked towards them thinking of ways he could really hurt them. His mind was a storm of anger and self-hatred. It was his fault that Emma was hurt. His hostility with Lasson had brought pain to the girl he loved. Nyco would make sure Lasson paid for it.

-Hey hey hey. Not a step closer. If you come any closer I press send on the video and everyone will feast their eyes on her-, Lasson threatened. The thought of Emma being humiliated that way bursted his hatred infused state and made him stop. Lasson smiled, gave Erix the drone with the controller and walked towards Nyco. -Stay still-, he ordered. The bully then punched Nyco in the stomach with as much force as possible, making the teenager bend forward in pain. The bully grabbed his face and looked at his eyes. -You know… I hear that you’ve only recently started dating. That made me wonder. Have I seen her naked before you? That would be epic!-, he laughed.

Nyco felt every cell in his body tremble. His face started turning red with rage. He looked Lasson in the eyes with more hostility and hate than he had ever felt in his life.

-Hahahaha, that face says it all. I have seen her naked before you have. Even Erix has and he’s a total loser!!-, Lasson laughed giving him another punch. -Now listen to me. If you don’t want the whole school to see her you will now stand still.

Lasson and Erix took turns punching and kicking Nyco. They laughed and teased him the whole time he was being beaten down. When they finally got tired, they gave him a message.

-If you want to preserve your girlfriend's privacy between us you are going to start doing everything we say. you got it?-, he asked with a devilish grin.

-... Okay-, said the defeated and bruised teenager.
