Chapter 30:

Spirit shifter

Cherry: A Blossom Anew

“AAAHHH,” screams Rondo. Green explosions bridge over him, the alien firmly holds multiple power ores in his hand. “I don’t like this feeling one bit.” Green essence shines over Rondo's eating every ore.

Brick veins race bright green, growing his muscles to their peak. “You have to die before you become a problem for everyone. Give me my objects, I'm taking all my ore back!”

“This crying essence, Pai, I finally know what the ore’s source is.”

“What’s that, Danika?”

“People, it’s all from mortals."

“Nasty world…No nasty life we live in,” sighs Pai. Rubbing his forehead, Pai holds the crooked sword. “Danika, help me out with prime sought, give me full power. Make my armor the hardest fucking thing on this planet!”

“Anything for you, King.” Peeling skin back essence looms through. The holy ring grows armor around the forearm. Incandescent bright solar flares play inside, Pai swaps the feather blade to its normal state.

“You’re right, Rondo, I didn’t kill Rook, but I’m taking your life here today. You don’t deserve life, only death. Nova can wait. I’ll be damned if you think you have a chance of getting it before me!”

“Come and try your best brat!”

Taleen flies over the Sola’s star barrier. Taleen blasters rain lasers ripping androids from the sky. Taleen spins throughout the sky, while other androids persuade her. “What the hell, you’re one crazy pilot,” cries Mr. Z.

“Whooo! Just keep shooting, Z,” laughs Zack Zack. Taleen loops above going over everyone. Mr. Z rips rockets into the sky, impacting every android. Explosions gust over them.

“Good job, but we need that hyperdrive. Guess what, I know exactly where it’s at. We're heading for the mothership,” said Zack Zack. More lasers and clouds surge at Taleen passing over.

“Their defense is still a problem,” warns Mr.Z.

“Hey, don't forget about us.” Multiple other aircraft fly nearby. “Yeah, let’s go show them how universe seven does it.” Vader aircrafts gather nearby, joining with Taleen storming for the mothership.

"Do you even have a purpose for all this trouble you're causing, or is it all just a game to you?" said Kel.

"Ummm...I really don't care about any of this, as long as I get some practice under my belt.”

"Practice?"

"Yeah, practice. To see how many targets I can get. I'm getting some perfect shots on people below, just seeing their faces, then bang, there's no face at all. It never gets old, everyone's so confused," Dash laughs.

"I guess there are shitheads all over space, not just on C-Three. I wanna thank you."

"For what, our little fight is just now getting good!”

"Just thanks for making my first official kill so easy. I'll feel nothing after chopping your nasty head off those tiny shoulders. At least die with your mouth shut!”

Kel transmits razor violent wind flying among Dash. Zooming out clouds both Kel and Dash soar past the bots. Androids try shooting Kel out of the sky but miss. She returns sharp blasts, splitting them all in two.

Dash hits Kel, sticking a yellow ball on her chest. At the last second Kel pushes the ball off, yet it still explodes near her. Dirt hugs Kel. Dash hurls himself upon her. Igniting a strong wind going three hundred sixty degrees around herself, bolts Dash back up.

Damn, I can’t even move much, getting hit from these winds. Kel’s already behind Dash, managing to clip Dash's wing; a piece of his wing hangs off. Dash launches more bombs by Kel, however, Kel slices all the balls away. They’re shot from the windy explosions.

As Dash falls down, Kel shoots over, lifting him again. Who’s this person? You said nothing about this essence user, Rondo.

“Gale primary!” Waves of fist spray upon Dash, the blitz of attacks drops the alien down like lightning. Dash’s wing falls off trying to fly again.

“I’ll help you up, don’t worry!” Heavy storms leap the alien up, spinning with no direction. Dash sees hundreds of boomerangs in the sky. “You’re nothing but a practice match. No hard feelings.”

"Don't think I'll drop dead, I'm still flying!”

"Flying, you're being controlled by me, this is my environment. I beat you the day I got these powers, dumbass!" Kel smashes Dash's face in; air cleans a fallen bloody tooth. Firing fifty bombs for the Vader, wind catches everyone forcing them upon Dash.

Yellow explosions launch him for the stars. The clouds pull behind Kel’s rage. Dammit, I’m useless up here now, my wings are done for. The endless forest swings back and forward like grassy waves.

“Squall rag!” A double edge wind boomerang forms on Kel’s palm. Dash flings higher up, splitting before his vision. Gotta do something when she's getting too close, what should I do? Kel cracks her boomerang before Dash. So it’s like this?

Splitting C3’s atmosphere; slashing Dash’s head off completely, gigantic yellow explosions rip Dash’s body to nothing. “I’ll keep moving forward, everyone. You guys can always rely on me.” Kel flies for Pai’s flare.

Taro dodges multiple boney blades, barely missing his beige pale skin. Taro’s hair fades from black to light gray. Shit, I need to finish this, before he’s aware! Ghost trigger dims white in his hand. “Wait, is ghost trigger gaining power? But I didn’t even weaken Victor that much.”

Gray hair covers his vision. This is just like from fighting Bombast. “What are the fucking odds, I get matched up with you. I thought it’ll just be a simple meal for me. You spirit shifters have no right. It’s not fair!” vows Victor.

“Spirit shifter?”

“If I keep you alive for too long, you’ll gain the power to change this realm and every spirit. It’s not fair, I want to do that!”

“Change this realm, you say? I kinda like how it is right now?” Spirit energy shines from Taro getting closer to Victor. Flesh crips on Victor’s skeleton.

“No you don’t, I won't turn back into that state. I don’t wanna see my old self again.” Victor races to Taro lifting both front legs, leveling the floor. Taro dodges the shot, dazing Victor with a powerful kick. Bricks follow behind Victor falling down the mountain.

Taro pistol whips him off down the rocky surface; Victor rockets onto the colorful biome. Spirits lift up screaming, flying over the water. “Fuck, I’m changing too quickly, I can’t let him touch me anymore. A spirit like me will never turn back. I hate gifted people always thinking they’re better than us.”

“Gift or not, I’m winning, Victor!”

“What about your girlfriend, Ashley?” Victor’s cracked teeth leak spirit energy tainting the ground to black and gray.

“You never had her in the first place. She’s fine, I don’t sense her anywhere.”

“You still came even knowing she wasn’t here?”

“Anyone who uses the people who I care about against me will see the worst of me…Also you’re annoying as hell in my head.”

Taro evades Victor’s incoming blade following behind.

“No more games, Victor. I have another battle to get to,” says Taro. Another blade aiming for Taro’s eye. He dodges the shot again. “As I said, no more games, we’re done here.”

I gotta take that gun out his hand before he gains all his power! The skeleton charges for the ghost trigger, Taro skates behind Victor swiftly. “Didn’t you hear me the first time?” Unable to react, Taro fist creaks Victor's ribcage up, sending the spirit off the mountain. Flying so high, he’s shot past airborne spirits.

Following you behind, firing BB shots upon Victor. Every shot reforms Victor’s flesh. Taro grabs the half skeleton face, crashes him downward. Half of Victor's is muscle and skeleton, veins build around the growing eyes.

Yellow hair grows past both ears. “AHHH! No, no not this. Can’t go back, it's been too long.” Victor rips the flesh off his head, yet it continues to grow. This should be enough for one good blast, this guy is done for.

Taro rams on Victor’s torso creating a crater from under, placing the cold barrel on Victor’s forehead. “Later, I hope whatever you’re scared of is a better person, than this piece of shit,” he said, spitting on the ground.

“No! Please...I don’t know how I’ll turn out. It’s been too long, what if I don’t like that person anymore?”

Taro sighs. “I’ll just…help you like yourself again, my promise.”

Spirit energy engulfs them. Chasing many spirits away, while some are consumed. He’s revealed standing up, but Victor has disappeared. “Wait, did the passing on not work? Where did you go, Victor! Come out, I'm not letting you run away. We gotta finish this.”

A yellow horse figure imprints on the ghost trigger, yet Taro doesn’t notice. Ghost triggers launched out his hand from the blast. He stumbles to it wiping dirt off the handle, then daffodil colored energy gusts out the pistol. A Powerful impact crushes Taro into the mountain.

“When did that start happening? Could've been...” Yellow spirit energy rubs off brown fur coating, yellow smooth fluffy hair bounces off white pinkish skin. A large centaur’s flesh finishes healing. Brown eyes stare down at Taro, It's a shirtless female centaur; Taro blocks his view. “Where the hell did you come from! Who the hell are you, lady?”

“You big jerk, turning me into this again. All this flesh is annoying, there’s no going back now!” Dad, you didn’t tell me about anything like this?

Taro blushes. “Wait, is that really you, there's no way.”

“I’m sticking to you like glue. Because of you, I have no choice now. It's Victor, the centaur, in the flesh at your command.”

Taro's vision darkens, falling forward; Victor embraces him. “Let’s get out of here, Victor,” he chuckles.

“You’re lucky, the land here isn’t strong enough. The sad truth is no one is safe for this realm. The land slowly drains us all away to start a new cycle of spirits. Spirit shifters still have to kneel before this realm.”

Racing across the uneven ghostly land, spirits swarm the destroyed mountain top. Spirit energy follows their new bond, going inside Taro’s portal leaving their battle behind, bringing the spirit realm a little closer together.
