Chapter 07

Shinji and Kiyoko were walking down the hallway, and then a low moan was heard. 

"A moan?" He thinks, stopping abruptly. 

"No, it's moaning and has nothing to do with the others... So they managed to reach this floor as well." Shinji said to himself as he crouched down. 

- shinji! Why did you squat? Ask Kiyoko. 

Shinji had not responded to Kiyoko, that's when the door on the left was broken a man with blue skin came out of the room while moaning he was thrown at Kiyoko, Shinji was relieved before the blue-skinned man (the zombie) reached his sister whom he had hitwith the gallows that he had picked up a few seconds before. 

“You are just a coward attacking a poor defenseless girl, I was right to leave several gallows in my path” he thinks at the time

The impact of the blow was so violent that the zombie lost its head. 

- Don't touch my sister! He exclaimed, raising his right hand in the air. 

It was then that he noticed that his sister had fainted, he sighed because the latter had not been able to see his heroic pose.

CHAPTER 07: A TRUE LEADER

Kiyoko had regained consciousness on the back of her little brother Shinji who was coughing more and more. 

- shinji... You can drop me off now. Said Kiyoko of a disappointed era

- All right. Replied Shinji

As they climbed the stairs to reach the top floor, Renji suddenly started vomiting blood, Kiyoko rushed to help him keep his balance, she wanted to ask for help but to whom will make all the staff changed into zombies. 

- I'm sorry Shinji. She told him in tears

- Why ?. Asks Shinji of a surprised era

- to be a burden for you. Kiyoko replies in tears. 

The poor thing felt like she was a burden to her sick brother and it made her suffer. 

- you are anything but a burden to me, on the contrary this me who has always been one, you have always taken care of me since we were very little... All this because I was born with fragile health.. . Because of me you were never able to do everything girls your age do, now that I have the opportunity to give you back, do you think you're a drag? Kiyoko you are my sister whatever happens I will always be there to protect you no matter my state because it is my duty as a brother. Shinji told him smiling, his voice was soft and soothing. 

They had managed to reach the top floor, they had entered a room where there were normal people (those who had not yet been changed into zombies). 

- you're finally here shinji I started to believe that you weren't going to come back. A man in his fifties told him in a familiar manner, which surprised the big sister. 

- I managed to find my sister Mr. Hiroto. Shinji replies, smiling. 

- it's good you found him but what do we do now? We're all stuck on this floor! Exclaims Renji (a man in his thirties, his face was thin with defined features and a goatee with short black hair). 

- I suggest that we wait until nightfall to finally try to leave the hospital. Speaks hiroto

- No, it's far too risky to wait until the evening... Let's not forget that the lives of thirty people are at stake. Said Shinji to him from a disruptive era

- what do you offer us, Mr. Genius? Renji asks him with sarcasm. 

- I suggest that we leave now while it is daytime... at night our field of vision will be reduced we will be at a disadvantage not to mention that we do not yet know anything about these zombies... Going out at night comes back to surrender yourself to the zombies. Shinji speaks in a calm voice. 

- you have the soul of a true leader my boy... That's why I decided to place my life in your hands. Hiroto told him, smiling. 

Yes me too, me too, me too. Everyone present in the room had chosen to place their lives in the hands of this 15 year old boy who was beginning to feel the pressure building within him, that's when he took a deep breath to clear his senses. 

- Well, here's what we're going to do, we're going to go down to 10. 7 will stand guard in 4 different locations and their mission will be to keep our backs. the remaining 2 people + me will have the mission to find a bus capable of holding all the people present in this room and to fill up the tank and prepare gasoline in reserve of provisions in case Shinji speaks. 
Shinji had managed to convince everyone except Renji who wanted to object. 

- taking a bus is funny but to go where? At the moment it is all Kyoto or even the entire country must be contaminated and in the days to come it will be all of humanity. Renji told him, raising his voice. 

- you are right Mr. Renji it is possible that everyone will be infected by the pandemic by the end of the day, but I know a place where everyone will be safe while waiting to find a cure, so you have the choice between staying here is dying or following me is surviving? ! Shinji exclaimed. 

Shinji had all the makings of a leader, no one wanted to question his judgment. 

- you're just a kid with no experience, how can you be sure that the place you plan to take us to is safe? Asks renji of a sarcastic era. 

All of Renji's questions had only one goal to destabilize Shinji. 

- I may lack experience but that does not prevent me from proposing solutions so that everyone here comes out alive. Shinji replies, approaching him. 

"What is this kid trying to do?" Renji wonders

- even the first comer will know that the forest is a safe place, it is certainly not perfect but we can make it a safe shelter while waiting to find a cure against zombification. He adds, placing his left hand on Renji's shoulder. 

Shinji had left the room, that's when Kuroki (a trainee nurse) followed him out of the room. Six other people came out after Kuroki in total there were eight to come out. 

- you know Renji, he's a kid, he's not just anyone, you probably don't know him because you've never really been interested in science, before Kurao, the new Einstein comes to establish his reign, it's him our good old shinji who dominated all of Japan he was the mostintelligent of the country it was his illness which forced him to withdraw from competitions. Maybe he lacks experience as you say... at least you will end up realizing that he is a real leader unlike you who is an angry person as they say, Shinji never loses his blood no matter the situation... Be a man and join him kid he needs us to save all these people. Hiroto expresses with a smile before also leaving the room. 

Kiyoko was surprised, she couldn't believe it, it was a whole new side that she had just discovered in her brother. 

The bus had arrived and 30 people had managed to get on, but a problem was presented to them, they had managed to attract the attention of the zombies. 

- if the zombie attacks the bus we will all stay there, well done to you Shinji, it's all your fault! Renji exclaims, placing all the blame on Shinji. 

- I know what to do... But it would involve a sacrifice that I am ready to make. Shinji speaks with a serious tone and a nervous voice. 

Everyone on the bus was surprised because Shinji had just talked about a sacrifice to be made to save others. “but who was he planning to sacrifice? "The question that everyone present on the bus asked themselves in silence while exchanging cold glances was when they saw Shinji smiling. 

- you have placed your lives in my hands and I promise that none of you will be devoured today. He told them as he pressed the button to open the bus door. 

- Mr. Hiroto I am entrusting you with my big sister, take good care of her. He said to her before going downstairs

As the bus door closed, a sentence from the latter was enough to put everyone present on the bus in tears "one life to save a thousand" it was with his smile that Shinji left with his sister. Kiyoko couldn't believe what had just happened before her eyes; she had no choice but to let her brother go. shinji started to make noise before running away, he had managed to attract the attention of the zombies. All the zombies chased him, leaving the way clear for the bus and the others were able to escape. This noble decision saved the lives of 30 people, through one of the bus windows, Kiyoko watched her brother being devoured by the zombies, she could only shed tearsin front of this spectacle.
