Chapter 2:
AkaGami
A new worker arrived at the Monster Office today. Thick clouds of smoke filled the air, and he was immediately taken aback by how almost everyone was smoking. He needed training and guidance to understand his role, and Violeta wasted no time assigning someone to help him.
"Brie, take over his training," Violeta instructed.
Brie smiled, flipping her vibrant red hair over her shoulder. "Of course, Violeta. I’d be happy to."
As she approached the new hire, she casually unbuttoned the top button of her blouse, adding a touch of allure to her presence. The new worker stiffened, clearly overwhelmed by the situation.
"I-I'm Poki," he stammered. "Nice to meet you."
Poki was an unusual sight. Half-penguin, half-polar bear, he was a peculiar blend of both creatures. Medium-sized, he had sleek fins but also thick white fur, making him look like a true monster. To top it all off, he blinked excessively, a nervous tic Brie noticed immediately but chose not to comment on.
Brie responded with a bright smile, her body shifting ever so slightly to emphasize her figure. Poki gulped, doing his best not to stare at her chest. Brie’s long, red hair cascaded down her back, nearly reaching her curvy legs, which moved gracefully as she led Poki to his workstation.
"This is where you pretend to work," she said, motioning toward a small desk with a stiff, uncomfortable-looking chair. She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping into something almost conspiratorial. "If I tell you to do something, you do it. I’m your boss now. Don’t listen to anyone else."
Poki shifted uncomfortably.
Brie smirked. "That hot woman creature over there is Violeta. If you listen to her instead of me, that’s betrayal. And if you betray me…" She paused for effect. "I’ll tell everyone you grabbed my ass, and you’ll be fired."
Poki’s eyes widened in shock.
"So, be good and follow my lead," she continued. "That concludes your training. Now, try to look busy and don’t do anything stupid."
Poki was completely bewildered. What did I just get myself into? he thought. Trying to shake off the unease, he picked up a piece of paper and began writing a pasta recipe. He decided he’d make homemade pasta when he got home, maybe with some fish or something.
The day at the office dragged on, and as it wound down, most of the monsters left. Only Brie and Violeta remained. They couldn't leave yet, not as long as he was still here.
Briston.
If they left before him, it could set him off. So, they stayed. And stayed. The hours passed, the office grew quieter, and just as Violeta considered sneaking out, Briston stepped out of his office.
"Brie, Violeta, come in," he said with a smile.
They exchanged a glance before following him.
Inside, Briston leaned casually against his desk, hands in his pockets. He looked perfectly normal just a regular human. Unlike the others, he didn’t smoke, yet there was something unsettling about him. He didn’t need to be physically intimidating to hold power.
"Brie, I love your progress," he said smoothly. "And Violeta, I appreciate the energy you bring to this company. I hope you two will get along well."
Neither of them responded.
"I need you both to investigate an opposing firm. Find out what they do. Don’t mention this to anyone, and give me a full analysis. It would be great if you could have it by the end of tomorrow." His smile widened. "Okay, pretty girls? I’m counting on you."
Brie and Violeta remained silent. He was being so pleasant, yet he was completely stepping over them. He was ordering them around, knowing full well that when the results came in, he would take all the credit. That was just how he operated.
Violeta, exhausted, finally spoke up. "I’m not sure if we can..."
Briston raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, Violeta… are you sure?" His voice was gentle, but there was an edge to it.
Before she could finish her sentence, he cut her off.
"I’m talking here," he said smoothly, his smile unwavering. "I’m sure you and Brie can handle it. This is about trust. How can I rely on you if you can’t manage something so simple?"
He turned to Brie.
"I’m counting on you. Help Violeta, got it?"
Brie simply nodded.
Briston’s eyes lingered on her for a moment before he flashed one last smile. "Nice blouse and skirt, Brie."
With that, he walked away, leaving them there, trapped in his game.
