Chapter 6:
A Nonsense Afterschool Conversation Between a “Girl” and a Guy
“Well what now…” I murmured as I glanced around the hallway. With no plan in mind, I could only walk straight without thinking about anything.
Still, this school is better than I thought. How could I not notice it? If I was not dumb enough to make that mistake, then I wouldn’t have to do this.
I sighed heavily at my own stupidity. Hell, I even made the simplest mistake.
“Still…” I muttered, looking at my watch.
2 p.m. There’s still much time before the class ends. Can’t say there’s much to do. But then, roaming around might be the best choice. It might prove helpful in the future.
“Hehe…” I laughed like a sneaky brat. “Time for inspection.”
I continued walking straight. Passing through different classes on the second floor of the school building. Glancing around from side to side, and seeing how serious the students are.
I nodded repeatedly. “That’s good. That’s good.”
Is this what it felt to become a school principal who roams around the campus? How lucky. I wonder how much money I could make just from roaming around the campus? Ah… Imagine that…
Placing my hand under my chin, I imagined myself being a school principal. “I could see myself loving this one.” I murmured.
But well, teaching is a bit too much, and I can’t do such thing to kids. Teaching them would be their downfall. They can’t have a teacher like me, I’m a lost cause. But I could be a principal. If it was just roaming around and glancing around, then it should be easy.
“Yeah. Yeah. That would be cool.” I nodded.
The thought of being a supervisor sounds good to me.
As I continued walking, I got closer to another room, and I turned my head right while walking, looking inside.
“Wait.” I paused, and a thought came to me. I immediately walk towards the window far from the teacher, the one near at the back row. I stood near it, and stared at the students at the back row.
Then suddenly a student noticed me. He glanced back and forth, wondering what’s up. And another student noticed me, and another one, and another one. We all stared at each other, and I stood up without doing anything other than blinking. It didn’t took too long for the whole back row to notice me, and they all stared.
I frowned like a madman, not doing anything. And they followed me, squinting their eyes in the process. They probably thought I was trying to say something, but I was not. And I didn’t stop there, I continued frowning.
Suddenly, they looked like they were panicking and pointing at me. Huh? What are they doing?
They continued pointing at me. Then suddenly I felt someone tap me. “Ah—” I let out a shriek. I immediately turned around, only to find a teacher at behind.
“What are you doing?” She said, looking straight at me. “Why are you not in your class?”
I felt my body and my mind froze at the sudden appearance of the teacher. I couldn’t respond immediately and just stared at her like I’d seen a ghost.
“Why are you not answering me?” The teacher asked, demanding for an answer.
I snapped back to myself, and responded, “I’m trying to inspect the school and the classrooms.”
WHAT WAS I SAYING!?!
“You… you are trying to inspect the school and the classrooms? Why would you that? You’re supposed to be in your class right now!”
I shook my head. “That’s not quite the truth ma’am.”
“What wrong did I say?”
“You are mistaken to think that I’m a normal student.” I paused, and looked straight at her with determined eyes. “I am a student council student.”
The teacher stared at me, straight face with no emotion, and I felt myself getting pierced by her gaze.
What…
She continued staring at me. Then suddenly her face turned into frown, and she frowned at me.
What’s happening…
She placed her hand to my shoulder and said, “Sir, there’s no student council on this school.”
HUHHHHH!?
My eyes widened in surprised as the teacher smiled at me. I felt my body froze and tremble in her sight. I smiled uncomfortably and laughed awkwardly in her sight. “Y-you’re lying…”
The teacher laughed, and stepped back, removing her hand on my shoulder. “You’re right. I was lying.”
“Huh…” I looked at her, dumbfounded.
She laughed once again. “So, what are you doing here?”
“I was roaming around, inspecting the school premises.”
“Oh… That’s an interesting thing to do. You don’t have any class at the moment?”
What… What is she trying to do? I don’t understand. I thought in silence, not giving her an answer.
“No answer? Should I join you at inspecting the school premises?” She grinned as she look at me.
“Huh? Why?” I asked in confusion, forgetting the fact that I was talking to a teacher. “I-I mean, why ma’am?”
She swirled her finger in the air as she walked, and I unknowingly followed her. “That’s a good question. But I thought it would be interesting to do.” She glanced at me and said, “Right?”
I nodded meekly.
“Good. So let me ask you again, how is the school so far?”
“I think it was nice, I loved it here.”
“Glad to hear that.”
As we continued walking, we closely about to reach the end of the floor, leading to the stairs downstairs and a one door at the end.
“You’re somewhat quiet right now huh.”
“I’m usually quiet ma’am.”
“Is that so?”
I nodded in response.
“But the teacher earlier said that you were not.” She revealed. “She said you were confident enough to answer the question.”
That teacher! She snitched on me!
“Looked at that face.” She said as she looked at me. “Well she’s not wrong about what she did. As a student, you shouldn’t be doing that in the first place.”
I know… I just wanted to have fun and mess with him…
As we continued walking, we finally reached the end of the floor, standing in front of the door at the end of the hallway. As we stood at the front, she opened the door while I looked the sign above the door and it reads:
Principal’s… Principal’s Office!?
I looked at her in surprised, mouth wide open and eyes wide.
She laughed when she saw my expression. “Now come inside. We have a lot of talking to do.”
You can’t be serious right now…
With no other choice but to follow her, we headed inside the Principal’s Office.
