Chapter 31:

The Gods Unite - Great Encounter Battle Arc

Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World

Wisteria gasped in shock as she saw the seven other figures over the horizon. They were travelling so fast; they were almost a blur in the sky. As soon as they were above Zetsubo, they plunged downwards. They all landed on either side of Zetsubo, all with their heads down, with hoods up. They wore a specific type of uniform. It was very smart, buttoned all the way up to the collar. The buttons were gold, and the fabric was as white as a sheet. Despite this, their uniforms were as clean as could be.

"Father, I thought that Acebian and Titania Gods don't work together!" Tomokazu yelped in confusion. His father gave a disappointed sigh, as if he expected Tomokazu to know of this information already.

"Usually, we don't. This is with the exception of one rule. A Code Black. The return of the Disowned One. When he went rouge fifteen years ago, when you were still a baby, it took all seven of us to bring him down."

One of the characters stepped up and stood beside Zetsubo, before smirking and wrapping his right arm around his shoulder playfully.

"I never thought I'd be teaming up with you again, Zetsubo! Isn't this fun?!" The man chuckled, acting like an excited child opening presents on Christmas Day. “It’s been fifteen years, hasn’t it?”

“Fifteen years isn't long enough apparently, Utsu,” Zetsubo growled. Utsu had a bright face, with rosy, red cheeks, with gleaming yellow hair. He was the epitome of what being happy looked like. Utsu was the God of Joy.

All of the eight Gods resembled emotions. These emotions spread throughout the world, allowing people to feel something meaningful in their lives. The Gods were respected, loved and nobody ever went against them.

“You always were annoying, Utsu,” Kuro-Yami grimaced, trying not to remind himself of the memories he had back then, Utsu’s face soured immediately upon seeing Kuro-Yami again.

“You should have never escaped. I’m going to put your ass in the ground,” he hissed at The God of Darkness, much to his amusement.

“Some God of Joy you are. You know that once there is darkness in this world, I can not and will not be killed,” Kuro-Yami bragged, only adding to Utsu’s annoyance. The God of Joy clenched his fist in anger and instantly launched himself at his foe. He went to punch Kuro-Yami square between the eyes, but the God of Darkness put up a hand and grabbed his hand. Utsu grunted, before jumping backwards.

“Huh...it seems you have grown weaker...a lot weaker,” Utsu said with a smile. He opened his hand, and inside his palm he was controlling a small bolt of blue lightening. “Zetsubo, I don’t know why you even bothered calling us here. What a waste of time.”

Utsu lifted his palm facing up, and the sky above him turned gray and depressing. Out of nowhere, rain began pouring hard. Wisteria, Bibi and Alexander all bolted for cover. One man looked out from behind a doorway, grinding his teeth. It was Tsuyoshi Kage, the famous foot soldier who could supposedly take on entire squads by himself.

“Those bastards...,” Kage growled to himself. He feared the worst.

Utsu laughed as he stared down at the God of Darkness. Slowly, he became levitating above the ground about ten feet. He began gathering up energy in his palm, before sending in a huge bolt of lightning at Kuro-Yami's way.

The man dodged with ease, and flew up to Utsu quickly, punching him so hard he was flung to the other side of the arena, completely destroying the stand.

The other Gods did not even move a muscle, nor did they reveal their faces. After a moment of silence, Utsu exploded from the rubble, laughing like a maniac.

“Oh my, Disowned One! You didn’t even scratch me! Back in the glory days, a punch like that would have killed me! Did those years of torture make you weak! I don’t think I will even need to use Carte Blanche against your frail ass!”

Kuro-Yami's blood boiled, and he began to grow in rage. He unleashed his presence even more, a dark shadow grew around his body, almost mimicking Hiroshi’s figure. Kuro-Yami couldn't stand this hate talk.

“Hey! You leave my friend out of this!” he yelled, making up the distance at the speed of light. Kuro-Yami went for five quick punches to Utsu’s smiling face, but The God of Joy was easily able to dodge and weave each and every attempt.

He countered with his own flurry of attacks, and after Kuro-Yami flipped away, Utsu used his palm to shoot a bolt of lightning at Kuro-Yami, who took the full force of the attack. He grunted in agony, then fixed his stance to begin his next attack.

Inside Kuro-Yami's mind, Hiroshi curled up into a ball and sat on the floor. Kuro-Yami's mind was so dark and depressing. He was so scared. Not only that, he knew the reason that Kuro-Yami was losing was because of him. His body and strength was never going to be strong enough.

“It’s all my fault. It’s all my fault. It’s all my fault! Not only that, Kuro-Yami lied to me! He lied to me because I was weak! He didn’t trust me because I was weak! Dammit!”

Kuro-Yami used his darkness to cover the whole arena. Utsu focused and jumped up to avoid the attack, before sending a volley of lightning bolts back towards Kuro-Yami. He groaned in frustration as he blocked the bolts with Hiroshi’s katana.

“I always hated your Saturn magic, Utsu,” he growled. He shot his darkness magic out of his hands in the shape of daggers, shooting them at the speed of light, stabbing Utsu through the chest.

Wisteria and Bibi gasped. They couldn’t even comprehend the pace of the fight that was happening before them. Tomokazu went up to his father with a sense of urgency.

“Father! Let me fight! I need to help Utsu!”

“No! You have made enough mess for me as is! Just stay back!” Zetsubo yelled over the rain. Tomokazu went back to the shelter, utterly deflated.

The other six Gods smirked. Utsu was right. The God of Darkness was weak. If they joined in, Kuro-Yami would be slaughtered.

That was exactly what was going to happen.

With no other choice, Kuro-Yami opened his left fist and aimed it across his body, and slammed his clenched, right fist into his palm. His left hand closed over it. The Gods eyes popped open in disbelief. Kuro-Yami yelled out the most powerful words in the world.

"Carte Blanche!"
