Chapter 63:

Devil Orobas I

Devil hunting chronicles of the impossible city.

''So you got the package for me babe?'' A young man stood in front of the counter in that dark and hidden away office, he had a brown leather jacket and a wool cap on his hands with goggles attached. The young man couldn't be older than his twenties and had a very confident sway, his short brown hair well-groomed and his tone was kind as he gave the receptionist a smile. The woman in that dark isolated room was also quite young and with long golden blond hair, she smiled back from behind metal chainmail on the reception.

''Yes, the package is here Mr.Jersey.'' She looked back at a tall man behind her, he nodded and disappeared into the darkness behind the reception.

''This was just brought here yesterday night, but I'm a bit concerned there have been some people looking around for the man that delivered it to us, they are clearly from the Bramante family, I don't know what is in there but the Bramante want it back.'' A huge steel door opened and a tall man came out holding a black box and walked toward the young man. '

''No need to worry about that, the Bramante and I never got along, they can hardly hate me any more than they do, if anything this just thrills me even more, no worries the Ocassio family will be getting their little black box on time, you know Im one of the best around for a reason babe.'' The woman sighed, not looking to convince.

''You definitely are the only man crazy enough to take on this job that's for sure, be careful alright I have a really bad feeling about this one.'' He put on his riding hat, grabbed the black box with both arms, and looked back at the woman behind the counter. ''Well every job can be the last, I know that much, I'll be back in a flash so have my part ready by then, you know Im never ever late.'' He waved as he walked outside, the woman held her head with her arm over the table as she saw him go.

''I don't know if he is fearless or just too dumb to know fear, he better make it back, that lucky daredevil.'' The man nodded at her words as he closed the door behind him and the room was left in complete silence.

''Is not too heavy at least, now then old girl, let's get you ready.'' He reached a motorcycle that was already worn down from wearing its coat of green had turned brown and scratches were all around it, he passed his globed hand over the handle with tenderness as he put the black box on a bag and strapped it behind. The delivery man put on his goggles and cap and arranged his coat as he got on the seat of his vehicle making it start slowly. ''All the way to the inner circle, this is gonna be a long one.'' The man smiled as his vehicle hummed an instant he drove out into the streets leaving a trail of smoke from his coughing motorcycle as he sped onto the highway of the city. It didn't take too long for a car to begin to tail him as well.

'' He won't be going to fast, but if there is any transit we could lose him easily hope the rest of the team is ready on their end.'' Aurora looked at the trail of smoke as her own car joined the highway, she looked at her side her companion. The woman's name was Aisha she was anxious about being in a car for the first time but nowhere near as nervous as her brother was. Aisha had a serious expression she hardly showed any of the smiles she used to have while working in the kitchen before, it was strange to see her wearing the same black suit with the green tie the rest of them did. Aurora couldn't help but think that attire didn't fit her at all, but it was a uniform so it didn't need to.

''He doesn't look that dangerous for a demon.''Aisha told her, she had only seen one true demon before.

''Well some of us don't look like anything special, but he is one, I can feel it even from here, there is something vile trailing him, and is just not us.'' ''You said he was just a delivery man? This place looks very suspicious.''

''He is but not just any delivery man, he takes jobs on the underground without asking any questions, some people really value their privacy and they want to deliver stuff that can't go through the official channel, hell he might even be delivering a corpse and he wouldn't know it. A man like that must be good at getting people's confidence, his reputation is not just for show. Jersey devil's deliveries are always on time no question asked.'' Aisha closed her fist as she remained with her eyes set forward onto the road.

''I suppose someone who makes a deal with a devil doesn't mind doing it again...he is still just a criminal, doing whatever he wants.'' Aisha said with clear spite

''You really do hate demons huh, your brother sure has that in common with you, it must have been quite a heavy task to hide his own demon from you, but well that's why you are here right? You won't leave him to take care of all the demons for you anymore little sister.'' Aisha closed her eyes.

''I just don't want to be out of the loop anymore, Im just tired of that,'' Aurora smirked as she speeded up behind their target.

''Well don't rush it, the rest of the team will be ready, on-site, the only thing that matters on a hunt is that the demon dies before we do, you can wonder about your life when we are back alive. Get ready because we are speeding upright ahead now.'' She puts her foot on the pedal and they pass through the streets behind the motorcycle as they leave the busy streets and into the more empty highway at the side of the city wall.
