Chapter 1:
I'M DUKE DAUGHTER BUT I GOT LOST ON OTHERWORLD
Morning
Tring tring tring
The sound of an alarm rang through the room.
Click
Slowly, the person lying in bed stirred and turned off the alarm.
"Ugh..."
After a simple stretch, the man rubbed his eyes and noticed someone beside him.
"Huft... so yesterday wasn’t a dream, huh?"
He let out a small chuckle.
Gradually, he got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom.
A while later
"So, she’s still not awake, huh?"
He glanced at the person still sleeping in his bed.
"Ah well, she must be exhausted... and probably a bit shocked by everything that happened yesterday."
He approached the desk, picked up a piece of paper and a pen, and started writing something.
"Hmm, will she even be able to read this? Well, she seemed to understand what I was saying yesterday..."
Knock knock knock
As he was lost in thought, wondering if the woman could even read his writing, a knock on the door broke his concentration. Right after that, an elderly man’s voice called out to him.
"Ren-sama, breakfast is ready."
Hasegawa Ren.
That was his name.
A man from a well-known and wealthy family.
His family owned a famous and influential business in the country.
"Yeah, I’ll be right there."
Ren got up from the bed and headed to the dining room.
There, he was warmly greeted by an old butler who had served the Minamoto family for decades.
"How are you this morning, Ren-sama?" the butler asked.
"I’m doing well, Masato-san. Thanks for asking," Ren replied with a smile.
Ren took his seat at the dining table and began enjoying the breakfast that Masato had prepared.
As he ate, his mind wandered back to the woman in his room.
How did she even get in there?
He tried not to overthink it and continued his meal.
Once breakfast was over, Ren returned to his room.
Seeing the woman still fast asleep, he decided to leave her be for now.
"Hmm... she’s still out cold. Is she alright?"
With that thought in mind, he started getting dressed for work.
After getting ready, Ren stepped out of his room and made his way to the main hall.
There, he spotted Masato speaking with his personal driver.
"Masato-san," he called out.
"Yes, Ren-sama?"
"Masato-san, a... ‘friend’ of mine is coming over today. Could you welcome them?"
"[Hmm? A friend? It’s rare to see Ren-sama bringing a friend here...]"
"Of course, I’ll make sure they’re properly received."
With that settled, Ren left for the office.
Masato’s POV
Masato stood by the entrance of the Hasegawa estate when the doorbell rang.
He opened the door, revealing a young woman dressed in neat yet casual attire.
Masato greeted her with a polite smile.
"Welcome, please come in," he said as he held the door open.
The woman returned his smile and stepped inside. Despite her simple clothing, Masato could see an air of elegance about her.
"Thank you. I’m looking for Ren-san," she said softly.
Masato nodded.
"I’ll inform him that you’ve arrived."
After guiding her to the living room, Masato promptly contacted Ren to let him know about his guest’s arrival.
Angelica’s POV
Not long after Ren had left...
"Hnnngh..."
Angelica woke up, staring at an unfamiliar ceiling.
Panic crept in. How had she ended up in a completely different world from her own?
She tried to recall the last thing she remembered before waking up in that room, but her memories were a blur.
A strange yet familiar sensation coursed through her body—
The feeling of her magic being restored.
She could sense her mana gradually replenishing itself. But how? This world wasn’t supposed to have magic. Ren had told her that magic didn’t exist here. That thought only left her more confused.
Angelica sat up and glanced around the room.
Her eyes landed on the bookshelf, filled with books that immediately caught her interest.
"Hmm... I don’t recognise this language, but somehow, I can still read it."
After browsing for a bit, she noticed a note on the desk, written by Ren.
"Wear this? And before that, I should take a bath?"
Her curiosity piqued.
"I wonder what bathrooms in this world look like."
Muttering to herself, Angelica made her way to the bathroom Ren had mentioned.
Once inside, she was stunned by the modern and sophisticated facilities.
She picked up a bottle of soap and examined it before stepping into the warm water to wash herself.
After a refreshing bath, she put on the clothes Ren had left for her.
"Hmm... not bad. Looks quite neat," she mused while admiring her reflection in the mirror.
Though slightly nervous about meeting new people in this world, curiosity outweighed her hesitation.
She decided to leave the room and explore.
After a moment’s thought, she opted to use her magic to get around.
Focusing her energy, she activated a teleportation spell.
"[GATE!!]"
As Angelica stepped through, she found herself in an advanced city, far more technologically sophisticated than anything she had ever seen before.
She wandered the streets, taking in her surroundings, trying to figure out where she was.
After a while, she managed to locate Ren’s residence.
Just as she approached, a guard stopped her.
"Who are you?"
"Huh? I’m Angelica De Valentine. I’m a friend of the owner of this house, and I was invited as a guest."
The guard looked her up and down suspiciously.
"Wait here. I need to verify that."
After confirming her identity, the guard escorted Angelica inside.
"Alright, I’ll take you in."
The mansion was grand and opulent, leaving Angelica in awe.
Upon reaching the main entrance, the guard rang the bell, prompting Masato to step out.
Masato greeted her warmly.
"Welcome, please come in," he said, holding the door open.
"Thank you. My name is Angelica De Valentine. I’m a friend of Ren-san," she replied politely.
Masato nodded.
"Yes, Ren-sama informed me that Valentine Ojou-sama would be arriving today."
Angelica followed Masato inside, still mesmerised by the luxurious yet elegant decor.
Though it wasn’t quite like the royal palaces of her world, it had its own grandeur.
"Please, follow me," Masato said, leading Angelica to a spacious lounge.
The room was quiet but filled with luxurious furnishings.
"Please have a seat, Valentine Ojou-sama. I’ll inform Ren-sama of your arrival."
"Alright," she replied with a nod.
