Chapter 153:

Missing her.

The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter

Before heading out, I took one last shot of the entire school. Still I was unsure if Ayane-chan saw me like this. Sakiko was still wrapped around my arms as I was basically dragging her to the place she wanted to go. She wasn't even budging an inch except when I took a long step, then she would move. I was getting conscious of our surroundings. What will others think of this? She is definitely acting like we know each other romantically, the thought of which I despised.

"Hey, how long till we get to that cake shop?" I asked once, to which she didn't respond. I asked again, and still she didn't, but she rested her head on my shoulder. Every inch of my body was repelling her by the moment, yet every time I move she just gets closer.

"Trust you gut!" She said cheerfully. "We will be there eventually."

I was not in a good mood. I didn't like her body language. I wanted to see Ayane. I am truly missing her, missing the moments and fun times.

I have got to admit, though Sakiko was dilly dallying like a drunk lady who chugged 20 litres of drinks, she was subtly moving me to the direction which seemed to be the cake shop. Still, I was just hoping this would end soon enough and I could go home. Seriously, why did I even accept this?

"Where are you going?" She wrapped around my waist in an instant, flustering me. "We are here, at the cake shop."

"W-what are you d-doing!?" I took an uncomfortable step back, to which she fell towards me. I had no option but to catch her myself, kind of hugging her.

Then I felt it again, a zap. This is no joke, someone is seriously stalking me the past few days. At first it was just inside the school, but now I am feeling it outside too. I looked around warily.

"I am sorry! I didn't mean to do that!" She apologised. Now I am feeling bad, like I am a bad person for moving away. But she seemed to catch on my worries about the stalker. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing. Let's get inside, shall we?"

She nodded with a bright smile, but I liked Ayane's smile a lot better. The cake shop was ordinary, it was nothing super fancy. Maybe she researched a place that I can afford? If she did then I am grateful. As a student I definitely don't have much cash.

She ordered a cake and insisted we sat at the table of two. I took for myself a cup of coffee and sat there, as I figured it was going to be a long conversation.

"The cake looks delicious, doesn't it?" She said as she excitedly took what seemed like hundreds of pictures of the cake in front of me.

"It does look appealing." I awkwardly said. I just couldn't resist the guilt I am feeling for Ayane-chan.

"If you don't mind, I am going to take a bite!" She said with joy, grabbing a spoon from the tabletop and taking a small bite from the cake.

"Now, while eating, I would like if you explained about the thing you told me that day." I asked.
