Chapter 9

Was Stiles in trouble? He asked what she would do in his trouble. What did he mean? Was Caleb lying to me? He said that they bullied Stiles because he didn't smoke. Was he trying to save himself? He even looked nervous. 
I read the reports of Stiles. He reached the hospital at ten. He had lost a lot of blood. The weapon was a knife and a deep cut on his left hand. The reports had even said that he had some in his body. 
I tried to look after Luka Couffaine but I didn't hear anything from him. I remember something. I need to go somewhere quickly. I changed my clothes and left the house. 
“What are you doing here?” Oliver asked, confused to see me. 
“Why? I can't come to your house.” I said.
“Are you here to see me?” He asked. 
“Don't be delusional. I am here to meet the cat.” I said, pushing him away. 
“Her name is Whiskers. And she is sleeping.” He said, coming towards me. 
“You even gave her a name. I thought you didn't like her.” I said. 
“Well. I was always lonely but I have company now.” He said. 
“I didn't know you read books.” I said, looking at the book itself. 
“What do you mean? I have read more books than you.” He said. 
“I brought a collar for her.” I said, handing him the collar. 
“What is this?” I asked him, pointing towards a picture. 
“This is me in Midnight Cafe. It's a bookstore. I have purchased more books from there.” He said. 
“I don't believe you.” I said. 
“This is the membership card of the Cafe. You can't go inside without one. Believed now.” he said, showing me the membership card. “Alright. I am going now. I wanted to play with her. But she's sleeping.” I said, moving towards the door. 
I left his apartment and walked down. I was walking on the streets when I saw Max. He was with a girl. She was wearing the same necklace Max purchased for her crush. Could she be her girlfriend?
Max was in front of me. Then I saw the girl beside her. It was Ava. My cousin Ava. Max was coming towards me. I asked him if she was the girl he told me about. He said yes to me. 
“Do you know each other?” He asked me. 
“Yes. She is my cousin.” I replied back. 
“What a coincidence.” Ava replied. 
“Josh and I are officially a couple.” Clara said in a loud and clear voice.
“When did you come here?” I asked her. 
“Wait. Since when?” Max asked her. Clara leaned in, her eyes gleaming with excitement. “I should tell you in detail. Let’s go somewhere first.”
Once they found a quiet café, she began. “This happened a few hours ago at the mall. I was picking out some clothes when I saw my ex—James. And guess what? He was with another girl.”
Max raised an eyebrow. “Already moved on?”
“I thought so too, so I asked him. But before he could answer, that girl snapped at me. She said they’ve been dating for a year.” Clara let out a dry laugh. “Can you believe that? A whole year.”
Max's jaw clenched. “So he was cheating on you the entire time.”
“Exactly. Good thing I didn’t propose to him.” Clara took a sip of her drink, then smirked. “Anyway, I got mad. She got mad. I called her crazy, and she shoved me. And you won’t believe what happened next—I bumped into Josh.”
“Josh? The doctor who treated you?”
“Yeah.” A small smile played on her lips. “He caught me before I fell and—out of nowhere—told me he liked me. And I just… blurted out that I liked him too.” She shrugged. “Now we’re officially dating.”I can't believe James was cheating on her. Lucky her that he dumped her before she proposed to her. Now everyone has someone as a partner around me. Right. I remember it. I wanted to research it. 
I unlocked my phone and searched for Zelyth. It is a drug which is dangerous. But why was it in his body? Stiles wasn't even drug addicted. It's becoming even more complicated. 
[Me] : Did you know Luka Couffaine moved to another city? Do you know where he lives? 
[Gabe] : Who told you he's in another city? I saw him yesterday. 
[Me] : So where can I find him? 
[Gabe] : He spends time in the park near the school every night. 
[Me] :Okay. Thanks.
