Chapter 14:
Path to Godhood: Only Virgins Allowed
“What do ya s’pose it is, you reckon?”
“It has a human like face, but it has like beastly features.”
“Hey, Stucker, ya thinkin’ maybe it’s one of them new creatures that been prowling these woods lately?”
“I couldn’t rightly say, Lyle. What I could say without much observin’ is this thangs a woman. I mean look at ‘em’!”
“You’re right. She definitely is one of them womenfolk? She is isn’t she?”
“Are you dumb? Women got these soft chests that extend out. They even produce milk, I hear.”
“Hey, Stucker, you ever, ya know… touch ‘em’?
“When the hell’d I get a chance to do somethin’ like that?”
“Dunno.”
The sound of two voices stirred me from dreamless sleep.
“The question to ask is, is this here more woman or more monster?”
“That there sounds like a complicated moral dilemma, Stucker.”
“There ain’t nothin moral about it. Let’s just kill it. Simple as simple.”
“That would surely save us time and trouble.”
“Careful now.”
My eyes slowly fluttered open, just in time to see a jagged hunting knife plunging toward me. I scrambled to my feet and away from the man with the knife.
“Stay back now, Lyle. It could be dangerous. Don’t let it’s womanly features beguile you.”
“It wasn’t beguilin’ nothin, I swears it.”
“You’re usin’ the word improper. It’s a verb, in this case meaning “to seduce”.
“Right, umm…”
“Just give me the knife.”
“Sure, Stucker.” Lyle handed Stucker the hunting knife.
I crouched low, ready for him to come at me. I hadn’t expected the pointy objects to come so soon after finally meeting a pair of humans. It’s possible they wouldn’t have been quite so quick to take up arms if I was able to take my Cow Girl form.
I hadn’t a clue what my face looked like at the moment, there weren’t any reflective surfaces around and I’d collapsed right after assimilating the Alligoth. I couldn’t have been too scary looking considering they seemed to be acting cautiously rather than scared or horrified.
If I’d heard their names correctly, the one holding the knife was Stucker. He had sandy-blond hair and brown eyes with nasty scar running along his cheek. His partner, Lyle, was slightly chubby with a bushy brown beard and shaved head.
I had to think very carefully about what to do next. I was fairly certain I could fight or run at this moment. My strength was probably above average and I could morph into beast mode and quickly get out of dodge. So then the question becomes about which one, or the possibility of neither.
I could try to communicate with them. I could actually understand what they were saying, but speaking and understanding are two separate things. I had no idea what sort or blessings or abilities I’d gotten from my unreliable angels. They might given me one part of this left me to sort out the other. It could also be that I haven’t actually been able to speak at all this entire time and have actually been uttering some kind of beast language.
I wouldn’t know until I tried speaking.
Stucker rushed in. This was actually a good chance to test my strength on a human. I retracted my claws which is something this form had and opted to use my fists. He slashed at my neck. I grabbed his upper arm on the follow through and pushed up dislocating his shoulder and causing him to drop the knife.
“AHHHH” he screamed, “LYLE!”
“Yes, sir.” He barreled at me as fast as he could. I readied myself to see what he’d do, he didn’t seem to be going after the knife, he was running directly at me.
He hunched over like a linebacker meeting the opposing team. I decided to do the same. I hunched and ran. We collided and surprisingly he managed to push me back a little. My feet dragged across the dirt.
I can’t say I was putting in my full effort, I will say this man was super humanly strong. Stucker was on the upper side of average, probably around the same level as someone who went the gym three to four times a week. Lyle, however, far surpassed that.
I dug my toes in and remained there. He continued pushing but I wouldn’t budge.
“She’s not moving, Stucker!”
Stucker picked up his hunting knife with the other hand, “Hold ‘er there!”
“I’m tryin’!”
I brought out my claws right into Lyle’s hand, locking them in.
“AHHH! She’s got me, her claws; Mother Divine! It hurts!”
I barreled rolled bringing Lyle along with me to avoid Stucker’s slashes.
I release my claws, shook myself loose from Lyle and turned to Stucker. My claws sprung back out just in time to catch his blade with one claw and punched him in the gut with the other one.
He crumpled.
Lyle and Stucker lay panting on the ground clutching their arms.
I watched them for a minute. Using these two as a test sample, it appeared that I had above average strength for a person of this world, though surprisingly not as above average as expected, at least in this form. It was likely that my Cow Girl form was significantly stronger than this one. Alligoth was probably my second strongest form at the moment.
Now, what to do about these two. They were subdued enough that I could probably talk to them now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lyle clutched his hand which now had 5 holes around the outside of it. It looked like the time he and Stucker had gotten into his dad’s knitting needles and played Rapid Fire Pricker. Stucker said he’s be able to safely miss Lyle’s hand but had ended up stabbing him straight through 3 times. The thing was Lyle was sure Stucker could do it. Stucker had the steadiest hands in the village. Maybe he hadn’t given him enough chances.
The Monster Girl look down at them with something like a crossing of curiosity and boredom. It was certainly perplexed for some reason or another.
“What do ya want!?!” Stucker yelled as it stood above us.
It lowered it’s head and huffed.
“Do you understand us?” Stucker attempted to communicate with it.
The Monster Girl was a bit shorter than Lyle and Stucker but each breast was larger than Lyle’s head which was pretty freakin big. Stucker was always saying Lyle had such a big head for housing such a small brain. Lyle knew Stucker didn’t mean it in a mean way. He was just teasing, probably.
“HUH!” Stucker attempted to stand up but the Monster kicked him back down.
“Sss…stay…ddd…own.” It spoke hoarsely but it did surprisingly did manage to speak. Now, that Lyle was able to observe the monster, she kind of looked similar to the swamp monster that had moved into the forest recently. Jerome came back from a routime scouting mission a couple days ago all beat up and said they’d run into some kind of large reptile with rough green skin. Maybe they were related.
“I h…have que…questions.” It spoke slowly.
“Well, so do we!” Stucker glared at the Monster.
“This is n…not an ex…change.”
Her breasts swayed as she walked.
“What are you?” Lyle asked without thinking.
“Hmm.” It seemed conflicted as it thought about how to answer, “What do you think I am?”
It’s speech was getting clearer the more it spoke.
“A woman” “Monster” Lyle and Stucker spoke at the same time.
“Monster” “Woman”
“Monster woman” “Thing” Lyle tacked on at the end.
“And have you seen anything or anyone else that looks like me?”
Stucker and Lyle didn’t have to give it any thought, “Nope, natta one.”
Lyle continued, “We ain’t never seen no one like you before. You’re the first monster we’ve seen with a human face, ma’am?”
Stucker, “What’re ya doin’ callin’ that thing ma’am. It ain’t even human.”
“It’s still a woman though, ain’t she.”
“I seen women before, that’s not one.”
“Hmmhem!” The creature cleared it’s throat, “If I may, I believe I am a Demi-human female, does that sound familiar to you?”
“Demi-human?” They both yelled in confusion. Their faces slowly morphed into a horrified grimace.
