Chapter 6:
I Return To My World After My Adventure, But...The Demon Lord Comes With Me!?
“W-why?”
Kiyo was shaking uncontrollably. His mind almost overheating from the sheer confusion, fear, and anger was feeling at the current moment. In front of him was his supposed-to-be deceased arch-enemy—Jinn the Devourer, standing over the unconscious Nao with a smug expression of superiority.
“Why…WHY ARE YOU HERE JINN!? HOW ARE YOU HERE!?”
The Former Demon Lord chuckled.
“You underestimate the power of someone as ancient as me. While you were successful in defeating me and taking my life I had one last trick up my sleeve…The Curse of Third Eye…”
“The Third…Eye?”
Jinn parted the top of her uniform showcasing the upper part of her chest which only showed a bit of her cleavage. Kiyo blushed in embarrassment but those feelings quickly went away as he soon shrieked in fear at the sight of a purple eye blinking on the very chest of Jinn.
“This is a tool given to all Demon Lords throughout the generation. With this ancient tool, I was able to activate one last curse to have my undying spirit follow you. My original goal was to haunt your dreams and slowly weed out your will to live by filling your head with hellish nightmares…but when you were transported to this world an unnatural phenomenon occurred with the Third Eye…”
The sclera of the eye of Jinn’s chest turned from white to black and the iris at the very center of the deep purple became sharp like that of a lion. From the corners of the eyelids, it emitted a mist of darkness that covered the whole room making it almost difficult to breathe.
“While coming to this world my spirit separated from you but then the Third Eye strangely awakened into its next stage! The power from this planet strangely poured unrelenting amounts of mana into it and not only did it make me a completely new body—“
Jinn twirled around showcasing her form.
“But it also relayed bountiful information about this world! The history, the technology, the politics, the countries——every. Single. Thing! And now I want you to guess what I plan to do with all that~…”
The Former Demon Lord then held out her left hand and summoned a sword whose blade was jet black and whose hilt was made of silver snake scales.
“I will conquer this world! With the entire populace and advanced weaponry of this world under my control, I will then find a way back to Ihari and secure my absolute rule!”
And then a horrible vision appeared in Kiyo’s mind. The Realm of Ihari began invaded by troops with guns, tanks, and fighter jets. The Kingdom of Lydio having missiles ran down upon them, turning the capital into a wasteland of fire and death. And Marcus and Arthion began covered in blood and nearly half dead with Jinn standing over them like the terrible monster she was.
“Y-you——“
Kiyo was seething, clenching his fists so hard to blood was almost drawn. Jinn was amused by the sight of Kiyo’s frustration. She knew that the Former Chosen Hero wanted nothing more than to smite her but she knew his weakness…
“But taking over this world can wait. After all, I want to dedicate this time to making you suffer unimaginably~…”
In the span of a second, the distance between Jinn and Kiyo was closed as the Former Demon Lord dashed towards him with a deranged grin and her sword in a swinging motion. While Kiyo no longer had his abilities as a Chosen Hero he did still have muscle memories of fighting. By instinct alone, he was able to dodge Jinn’s swipe to his neck by ducking and jumping forward. He rolled on the ground and quickly picked up Nao.
“Glad you still got some fight in yah!” Jinn cheered as she turned back to Kiyo. “Would have made this a little underwhelming if you were too weak~…”
Not wasting any more time, Kiyo holds Nao in his arms and runs out of the classroom. Jinn was quick in her response, her body transforming into a dark cloud and flying after the two humans like a raging storm. Kiyo did not even bother to look back as he ran as fast as he could down the hallway. He had no destination in mind, his only plan was to just escape.
“There’s nowhere for you to run~!”
The booming voice of Jinn was right behind Kiyo. In a split second the teenage boy turned around he saw the dark cloud readying its sword for another swing.
“Oh crap—“
In the last second, Kiyo clutched Nao closer to him and dove all his might to the right side of the hallway. Where that lead was to a door, an entrance to another empty classroom. Because of the full force Kiyo put into the dive he managed to break the door off of its hedges and rolled into the classroom. As for Jinn’s attack, it missed Kiyo by a hair but it did manage to slice the top half of the school’s entire building. While the structure still seemed to be intact, anyone could see the strange lines on the surface of the school’s walls as it was cut.
“What rotten luck!” Kiyo said as he breathed heavily. “She’s still so strong!”
Knowing that the battle was far from over, Kiyo softly placed Nao down on the side of the room.
“I’m sorry… you’re gonna have to stay there for a while, Nao-san…”
Kiyo then went to the center of the classroom and grabbed a chair.
“Alright…”
Just as the Former Chosen Hero predicted, Jinn burst through the wall like a wrecking ball. She was back in her physical form, looking even more insane as she had her weapon out—hoping to stab Kiyo. But Kiyo was ready as he placed the chair in front of him like a shield which fulfilled its duty on taking the attack for him.
“Well done,” Jinn stated with venom in her voice. “But what are you gonna do no—BAH!”
The Former Demon Lord was interrupted as Kiyo jumped up and delivered a sidekick to the right side of her face. Jinn recoiled back letting go of the helm of the blade. Kiyo then threw the chair and trapped sword to the other side as he charged at Jinn with a proper fighting stance. The demon girl had already regained her composure and met her opponent’s advance with her own, holding up her fists.
“Come on!”
The two then engaged in fierce hand-to-hand combat, both showing unrelenting force in their strikes and quick reflexes. However, if grading the performances was a part of the match, it was quite obvious that Jinn was the superior fighter. She landed most of the blows and Kiyo was sure a lot of his bones were broken after taking the strikes that landed. While Kiyo was able to fight back due to what he learned in Ihari it was not enough to give him an edge against Jinn the Devourer who still had her godly strength and world-ending magic.
“What’s wrong Kiyo~? Show me what the Chosen Hero can do!”
Jinn punched Kiyo across his face, slightly dislocating his jaw and loosening some of his teeth. The punch rattled his brain making him delirious and defenseless against Jinn’s next move. The Former Demon Lord slid back and channeled purple lighting into her fingertips. With a loud holler, she then pushed her hands forward which commanded the lighting to fire from her pals and hit Kiyo.
The blonde boy screamed out in pain as the lighting burned his flesh and filled his body with high voltage of electricity. After four seconds of being electrocuted, Kiyo’s body felt numb. He fell to his knees as Jinn slowly walked up and grabbed him by the throat.
“I’m not done yet~…”
Jinn opened her left hand which made the sword which was still trapped in the chair escape and come into her palms. She then pierced both of Kiyo’s legs four times leaving multiple bleeding wounds that left Kiyo weak.
“Now your eyes~!”
Jinn then quickly sliced across Kiyo’s eyes, destroying them and leaving a nasty gash of ripped flesh and blood. The classroom was filled with Kiyo’s howling as Jinn continued her torture.
“And now…your arms~…”
“N-no!”
“W-what!?”
Jinn was interrupted as Nao, who had awakened, rammed into her back and pushed her down.
“N-Nao-san…?”
Kiyo spoke softly, unable to see due to his eyes being sliced off but he could never mistake the voice of his classmate.
“I-I don’t care what you are! Don’t hurt Kiyo anymore!”
It was obvious that Nao was scared but despite that, she still put herself in harm's way to save Kiyo. This affectionate did not go unnoticed by Kiyo who tried to get up.
“N-Nao-san…!”
And then Jinn got up and turned to Nao. Her eyes darkened and her frown deepened greatly. All the color in Nao’s face fiddled away as Jinn the Devourer stomped towards her.
“Are you listening, Chosen Hero?”
Jinn still looked at Nao as she spoke to Kiyo who persisted in trying to get back up.
“I’m going to kill your classmate in the most gruesome way possible. You won’t be able to see it but I assure you that you will be able to hear it. Her screams will be forever etched in your mind I give her hell…”
Nao started to shake and cower. Her eyes teared up as Jinn raised her sword over her head.
“P-please don’t! You don’t have to—“
“If you want to blame anyone, blame Kiyo. For he was the one who took my life and ended my reign. I will be sure to pay him back in full for all the misery and humiliation he put me through. I will tear apart everything he cares about inch by inch until he is nothing but a former shell of himself!”
Jinn raised her sword, ready to bring it down.
“N-NO! S-STOP! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!”
“Can we not please?”
“Huh?”
Out of nowhere, a blue pillar of light came down from the sky and pierced the floor of the classroom. As the light faded a single individual came out. A middle-aged woman with dark blue hair, silver eyes, and long ears. She wore a long grey cloak and carried a massive white book in her right arm.
Jinn and Nao looked at her in bewilderment while Kiyo just moved his head around aimlessly.
The long-eared woman walked over to Jinn, looking extremely exhausted.
“Let’s not do this here.”
“T-that was magic!?” Jinn screamed. “Who the hell—GAH!”
The long-eared woman karate-chopped Jinn behind the neck and knocked her out cold. She then turned to Nao and blew some strange sparkle mist in her face. The girl slowly lost consciousness and fell onto the classroom floor, snoring away.
“That should do it. Her memories should be wiped too. As for you, Chosen One…”
The woman then hurried over to Kiyo.
“H-huh!? What’s going on!? Nao-san!?”
“Shut up,” the woman said nonchalantly. “The girl is fine and I knocked out the Demon Lord. I’m taking you two someplace where you can have your final fight in peace…”
“W-who are you?”
“First let’s get out here. I need to get that girl home and then heal you up.”
Before Kiyo could ask any more questions the long-eared woman karate chopped the side of his neck, making him lose consciousness. She then easily carried the three young teenagers as if they were bags of plastic and walked out of the school.
