Chapter 21:
I'M DUKE DAUGHTER BUT I GOT LOST ON OTHERWORLD
After the [Wind Cutter] spell from the mages successfully brought the Red Ogres crashing to the ground, General Red seized the opportunity to launch a counterattack against their enemies.
“This is our chance! Take them all down!” General Red roared, igniting the fighting spirit of the knights around him.
“YAA!!” The knights shouted in unison, their voices filled with determination as they unleashed deadly attacks on the fallen Red Ogres.
With their sharp blades, the knights cut through the Red Ogres as if slicing through paper, eliminating the monstrous threats to their kingdom.
However, among the remaining Red Ogres, one stood out as significantly stronger. Just as a knight was about to strike it down, its severed leg regenerated at an alarming speed, shocking everyone.
The Red Ogre swiftly snatched up the approaching knight, gripping him tightly in its massive hand, ready to crush him with terrifying force.
“ARGH! HELP ME!” the knight screamed in panic, his life hanging by a thread.
“Fall back! Stay alert!” General Red immediately ordered his knights to keep their distance from the unpredictable enemy.
But he wasn’t about to let his soldier die so easily. With fearless determination, he cast [Boost!], drastically increasing his speed.
In an instant, Red dashed in front of the Red Ogre and, with a single powerful slash of his sword, severed the hand that held the knight.
SLASH! The sharp blade cut clean through the ogre’s flesh, sending blood spurting into the air. The knight dropped to the ground, freed from its grasp, but the battle was far from over.
The severed hand regenerated almost instantly.
Red clenched his jaw, realizing the difficulty of facing such a formidable opponent. Even after being dismembered, the Red Ogre's body restored itself effortlessly, displaying incredible regenerative abilities.
Yet, Red did not waver. A small smirk played on his lips—a sign of his unwavering resolve despite the daunting situation. They locked eyes, each waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Suddenly, the Red Ogre lunged. With a swing of its massive, tree-trunk-like arm, it aimed a devastating blow at Red.
“Hah!” Red braced himself, meeting the strike with his sturdy greatsword. Without hesitation, he retaliated with a powerful counterattack.
“Hiyaaa!!!” he roared, unleashing a relentless barrage of strikes. His sword danced through the air with lethal precision, each slash cutting deeper into the monster’s flesh.
Activating his skills, [Armor] for protection and [Strength] to enhance his power, Red fought with unwavering might. His blows landed with brutal efficiency, forcing the Red Ogre on the defensive.
Though the monster was incredibly strong, Red refused to back down. He pressed forward with unshakable determination, determined to slay the beast and safeguard his kingdom.
Amidst the chaos of battle, Red remained composed and focused. His leadership was unyielding, inspiring his knights to fight with unbreakable morale.
As the relentless assault continued, the Red Ogre began to falter. Even with its monstrous endurance, it couldn’t withstand the sheer force of Red’s attacks.
And then, with one final, devastating strike, Red delivered the killing blow. The Red Ogre let out a deafening roar before collapsing to the ground, lifeless and defeated.
A heavy silence fell over the battlefield.
The once-chaotic land, filled with bloodshed and destruction, now stood still.
Breathing heavily, Red stood amidst the carnage of fallen monsters.
With a voice full of triumph, he bellowed, “THIS IS OUR VICTORY! THE MONSTERS HAVE BEEN VANQUISHED!”
A moment later, an uproar of cheers erupted from the knights fighting alongside him.
They raised their weapons high in the air, their victorious cries echoing across the battlefield.
“””””WOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!”””””
Their exhaustion faded, replaced by overwhelming relief and pride. They had fought with everything they had—and they had won.
Red watched them, a proud smile tugging at his lips. Despite their wounds and fatigue, their spirits remained unshaken. These were warriors who would lay down their lives for their kingdom and its people without hesitation.
Amidst the celebration, Red didn’t forget those who had fallen.
He immediately commanded the healers to tend to the wounded, ensuring they received the care they needed.
This victory, while glorious, was not the end of their struggles. Red knew that greater challenges lay ahead and that they must remain vigilant against future threats.
But for today, they would celebrate.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an amber glow over the kingdom, Red stood atop the watchtower, gazing at the peaceful landscape before him.
Despite the horrors of war, moments like this made it all worthwhile.
After taking a moment to savor the view, Red descended from the tower and rejoined his knights, who were still reveling in their hard-earned triumph.
The warriors looked at him with admiration, as if awaiting his words.
Recognizing their anticipation, Red grabbed a mug of ale and lifted it high.
“Well done, everyone! We made it through this battle! TO HIS MAJESTY’S GLORY! KANPAI!!!”
The knights roared in agreement, raising their own mugs with unyielding enthusiasm.
“””KANPAI!!!””” they chorused, their voices filled with the thrill of victory.
They drank, they laughed, and they celebrated—not just their triumph, but the unbreakable bond they shared as comrades.
Red observed them with satisfaction, vowing to lead them with the same strength and wisdom that had carried them through this war.
As the festivities stretched late into the night, Red eventually retreated to his chamber within the fortress. He knew he had a report to write for the King regarding the battle’s outcome.
Sitting at his desk, he began documenting every crucial detail of the fight, ensuring nothing was left out.
Then—
TOK TOK TOK
A knock on the door.
“General Red, I have a report to deliver,” came a voice from the other side.
“Enter,” Red responded.
A soldier stepped inside, presenting an update on the battalions and the misfortune that had struck the left-wing defense.
Red listened carefully, his expression darkening as he learned that no one had survived the attack.
“Such a shame…” he murmured, a bitter taste lingering in his mouth.
Among the fallen was a name he recognized—Mortz, a close acquaintance. The loss weighed heavily on his heart.
But the soldier wasn’t finished.
“We have additional information,” he continued. “During the assault, our men were attacked by an individual in a black cloak. He single-handedly massacred everyone on the left wing.”
Red’s eyes widened.
One person… wiped out an entire trained battalion?
His thoughts raced as he tried to make sense of it.
Who was this mysterious figure? What was their goal?
“This must be reported to His Majesty immediately,” Red said firmly.
The soldier nodded and departed after delivering the intelligence.
Alone once more, Red clenched his fists.
This was far from over.
There was a new, terrifying threat lurking in the shadows, and he was determined to uncover the truth before it was too late.
With renewed resolve, he prepared to inform the King of this alarming development.
