Chapter 47:

Lost Love - Hiroshi's Humanity Arc

Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World

End of month six.

Hiroshi, Wisteria, Bibi and Tomokazu had just finished half of their training with Kage, and they had become very powerful. They could all move faster than the speed of sound at least, minus Bibi. Since Bibi had never been born with magic, she was struggling. Not that she was weak. If anyone looked at her in the wrong direction, they wouldn't stand a chance.

Hiroshi was hating it. The celebration. Wisteria had only begged him to organize a party in the local tavern in Lightley to celebrate being half-way through their training. Reluctantly, he had agreed. Being the leader of a village had its perks. They were all adults now, too, meaning that they could all drink alcohol legally.

Hiroshi sat at the bar, talking to Kuro-Yami in his head. He was so bored. Wisteria, Bibi and Tomokazu were too busy getting drunk to talk to him. He sipped on his sake, and began kicking the polished oak counter.

"Hey! Hiroshiiiiiiiii!"

Hiroshi sighed. His peaceful conversation was interrupted by a very drunk Wisteria. He hadn't talk to her much since the dinner he had with her family the previous month. It hurt him, but he would feel better in the long run. At least, he thought it was.

"Hey, Wisteria...you doing ok?" He asked her in a gloomy matter.

"Me?! I'm fineeeeee Hiroshiiii!" She yelled out, right into Hiroshi's ear. Hiroshi shifted in his seat uncomfortably. The last time she called him 'Hiroshi' was at the beach when she was insecure about her body weight.

"Is she going to ask me a serious question? She only calls me that when she's upset and serious," Hiroshi thought to himself, and Kuro-Yami shook his head.

"No, she is just way too drunk. Don't think about it too hard," he spoke up, hoping to comfort Hiroshi, so that he wouldn't begin to worry. It didn't work.

"Stop drinking, Wisteria. You have had enough," Hiroshi told Wisteria assertively, and she slammed her body into the counter, her head swinging wildly.

"Nuh-uh! I can have more, I'm not even that drunk! Another one, bartender!" She laughed loudly, slamming her hand down on the counter.

"No, you're drunk. Stop before..."

"Before what?!" She screamed suddenly, taking Hiroshi by suprise. She never yelled like that at him before. "Leave me alone! It's hard being in love, you know!" She continued, recieving her next shot of sake and chugging it in one gulp.

"You're...in love? With who?" Hiroshi asked, his ears pricking up. It made so much sense. Why she was acting so distant from him. Why she said they were friends. Hiroshi was annoyed he even thought about the idea of dating her.

"Wouldn't you like to know! Besides, the last girlfriend you had died because you weren't there for her! What, you think it was you?!"

Hiroshi froze.

"The hell did you just say?"

"You heard me! Why don't you see the signs, Hiroshi?! Why don't you look in the mirror! Why don't you lov-" She couldn't get out the words "love me?" in time before Tomokazu and Bibi ran over.

"That's enough, Wisteria!" Tomokazu grabbed Wisteria's shoulder and threw her to the ground. Bibi yelped and held her head as she struggled to get up. Hiroshi began to leave the tavern.

"Hiroshi! Wait!" Tomokazu cried out, running after him as he burst out of the tavern. "Hiroshi! Hiroshi?"

"Leave me the hell alone!" He screamed at Tomokazu, who stopped walking after him immediatly. "You were all fakers! All of you! I failed Blossom, I know that! And it's going to happen again! And again! And again! You just...what is wrong with you people?!"

Hiroshi was yelling complete nonense. His emotions were so mixed, he didn't know what to feel. Anger. Sadness. Love. He was going crazy. The people in this world were making him crazy. Just like in his old world. Nothing had changed.

"Just...leave me alone, Tomo...ok?" Hiroshi said softly. Tomokazu nodded, and he walked back into the tavern, giving him space.

Hiroshi ran his hands through his hair. He just needed peace. He had fallen into the trap of being too nice. He hated himself for it.

He looked at the notice board that was diligently place outside the tavern, and a brightly colored poster caught his eye. He grabbed the bottom of it with both hands and tore it off the wall. He inspected it closely.

Inside the tavern, hell was breaking loose. Wisteria was trying to run out of the tavern to talk to Hiroshi, but Bibi was not allowing it.

"Wait! Tell Hiroshi to come back!" Wisteria cried out, her hands covering her face. Her hands couldn't contain her tears.

"No, Wisteria. You're just going to make things worse!" Bibi held her back, trying to save her dignity.

"You don't understand! I didn't mean it like that! I just got upset! He won't understand my signs! Please tell him to come back!"

"Signs? Wait...you mean..."

"I'm in love with Hiroshi!"

Hiroshi didn't even hear them. The poster had his complete interest. The poster had a man in shiny, golden armor. He had smooth, shiny brown hair that was done up in a topknot. He had green eyes that shone brightly, a scar down his cheek, and he wore a big smile across his face. Hiroshi knew that it was fake. He read the captions at the bottom.

"Our Hero of the Capital, Touma Schulz, is determined to find the mythical Love Crystal that was supposedly lost for centuries! Line up and crowd around as we wish him good luck tomorrow at three o'clock!" Hiroshi read aloud. "Interesting."

Hiroshi looked back into the tavern. He could see Wisteria, struggling to stand up. What a fool he was. All they wanted out of him was his power. He never had true friends. He didn't know how to act or feel around them. To be comfortable or at unease.

Hurting people. That he was good at.

"Kuro-Yami? How fast can you get me to the capital?" Hiroshi asked. The God of Darkness inside his head gained a big, wide grin. He knew what Hiroshi was thinking.

"As soon as you need."

Kuro-Yami took over fifty percent of Hiroshi's body, specifically from the waist down, since he could fly with them. Hiroshi thought a lot of things in that moment. Was he abandoning a chance at a good life? Or was he saving them from a bad one in his own company?

He looked up to the sky and sighed. Then, that psychopathic grin showed itself once more.

"Fuck it."

He flew into the sky, determined to reach the capital and scan the area.

And kill the Hero.
