The abyss trembled. The air was thick with a suffocating darkness, swirling like a living entity. At the center of it all stood Nyx, the Abyssal Warden, her crimson eyes burning like embers. A being of pure malice, cloaked in shadows that writhed like serpents.

Ren tightened his grip on his blade, his entire body thrumming with power. The Void Monarch System’s notifications flooded his vision.

He smirked. “Tch. Better odds than last time.”

Nyx's voice was like silk drenched in venom. “You should not have come here, child of the Void. The Abyss does not suffer fools.”

With a flick of her wrist, the shadows around her surged forward. Blades of pure darkness erupted from the ground, aiming to impale Ren where he stood.

Ren vanished, reappearing behind Nyx in an instant. His blade slashed downward, but—

Nyx had caught it with two fingers.

A pulse of Abyssal energy exploded from her, sending Ren flying backward, crashing through the jagged terrain. Pain shot through his body, but he gritted his teeth and forced himself to stand.

“Is that all?” Nyx taunted, stepping forward, her shadowy wings unfurling. “You are no Monarch, just another insect begging to be crushed.”

Ren wiped the blood from his lips. “You talk a lot for someone about to lose.”

Dark energy surged through him, tendrils of void crackling like black lightning. His heartbeat thundered. His vision sharpened.

For the first time, Nyx’s expression shifted.
