Chapter 5:
REINCARNATED IN ANOTHER WORLD BY ACCIDENT, I MUST LIVE AS A ROOSTER UNTIL I RECEIVE A NEW CHANCE
You may be confused about the sudden explosion and wondering what happened, so let's go back in time a little for more details. Now we are at the exact moment when the driver Gilmar threatens Ricardo with his iron bar:
“No, you won't!”
Julia pushes Gilmar with all her strength and then wields the knife, standing between him and Ricardo who has fallen.
“Don't even try! I have a knife!”
“HA! You had one!”
With a quick movement like a golf swing, the iron bar whizzes through the air, hitting the knife squarely and breaking its blade, which is thrown into the air and then falls near the wheels of the truck stuck between a manhole and the asphalt. Unarmed, Júlia stumbles back and falls to the ground.
“Look, I don't hit women, so stay quiet now! - He turns to Ricardo - So, where were we?”
“NO!”
Julia recovers from the fall and grabs Gilmar from behind. Getting up from the ground, Ricardo threatens to go after the driver in defense of the girl.
“Julia! Let go of him and run away from here!”
“You idiot! You're the one he wants to get! Get out of here, hurry up!”
Ricardo hesitates for a moment, but realizes that if he runs the driver will go after him, leaving Julia safe behind.
“So you want me? Come get me then!”
He ran as best he could and had already distanced himself a little when Gilmar finally got rid of Julia.
“Come back here, kid! OW!”
Even though he got away, he didn't expect Julia to bite him on the arm and she managed to take the iron bar out of his hands and throw it a few meters ahead.
“Damn brat!”
This time Gilmar can't contain himself and ends up slapping Julia, who falls to the ground. He wanted to get his iron bar back, but Ricardo was already disappearing at the end of the street, and he wouldn't be able to catch him on foot.
“Shit! You're not going to run away!”
He hurriedly climbed into the truck and started it, accelerating as much as he could. He heard a strange noise, but his anger spoke louder. If the truck's trunk hadn't been full of frozen chickens, he would have been able to go faster, but he couldn't get rid of the cargo at that moment. He kept pressing the accelerator as hard as he could without taking his eyes off the fugitive.
And here, my dear readers, is the key to the future event, a succession of events that culminated in the current situation.
When Gilmar started his truck and resumed the chase, his truck ended up running over the broken blade of the knife and the iron bar with one of its wheels, which were close to each other at that moment.
This proximity caused a kind of leverage effect, projecting the blade with enough force to not only cause a crack in the connection of one of the gas cylinders located below the truck between the cabin and the truck cargo box, but also caused splinters in the battery cables when it got stuck between them.
When Gilmar was forced to end the chase of Ricardo, the movement of the truck when it was braked caused the knife that was precariously attached to it to come loose and fall, supported by the pair of stripped wires serving as an electrical conductor.
The sparks ignited the slowly leaking gas, causing a strong explosion in the cylinders that shattered the cargo box and threw one of its contents out, breaking down the cargo box doors. A cardboard box full of frozen chickens.
The force was enough for the box to be thrown like a cannonball and find its target in the chest of an unsuspecting Ricardo who didn't even see what had hit him.
Now that the necessary explanations have been given, let's return to the main story.
