Chapter 26:

Chapter 26 – The Fall of the Monarch

Ascension of the Void Monarch

The battlefield was drenched in blood and shadows. The air itself felt heavy, suffocated by the clashing forces of Ren’s void energy and Warden Nyx’s abyssal might. The towering figure of the Warden loomed over him, his crimson eyes burning with malice.

Ren’s body was failing. His limbs felt like lead, his breath ragged. He had pushed his Void Monarch powers beyond their limits, yet it still wasn’t enough.

Nyx chuckled darkly. “Did you truly think you could defeat me, little Monarch?” His obsidian blade crackled with abyssal energy, a single swing away from ending Ren’s life.

Ren gritted his teeth. He refused to die here. He refused to fail.

But no matter how much he willed his body to move, it wouldn't.

Then—

A blinding light. A voice calling his name. A presence unlike any other.

A figure appeared between them, moving faster than Ren’s fading eyes could track. A golden aura clashed against Nyx’s abyssal energy, forcing the Warden back for the first time.

Nyx scowled. “You…”

The newcomer stood tall, their presence almost divine. Their face was shrouded in light, but their voice was calm, steady, filled with an authority that sent shivers down Ren’s spine.

“Ren Kisaragi. You were never meant to die here.”

Before Ren could react, the figure raised their hand.

A massive seal formed beneath him, intricate symbols weaving together into a vortex of light and darkness. The world twisted around him, the battlefield vanishing in an instant.

The last thing Ren saw was Nyx lunging forward, roaring in frustration—

And then, everything turned white.
