Prologue

It all started with the full moon. Her fair skin shimmered in the moonlight, her dark blue eyes glowed like stars in this eerie scenery. Her silky black hair swayed back and forth in the warm summer breeze, the sweet scent of lavender filled the royal garden. My heart, hardened until now, felt almost weightless, fluttering like a butterfly’s wings when I saw you for the first time.

The next day, the world lost its color; the flowers their scent, and the food in the Royal Academy, its taste, as my senses longed for you, whoever you were.
