Chapter 49:
Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World
*Author's note - No new chapter on the 19th March. I'm very burnt out and I need just a couple of days for a few new ideas! Sorry again :( New chapter comes out on the 21st March instead! Happy reading and thanks for the support! :)*
Hiroshi was almost stunned into silence. He knew that Grant beat Wisteria up when they were together. However, what he didn't know was that he was a second-in-command to Touma Schulz, a widely popular figure in the capital of Acebia.
Hiroshi was wreathing in anger. Wisteria had lied to him. Betrayed him. Again. He wouldn't have let him go so easy if he knew how well he was known.
"I'll kill him first," he hissed to himself, getting on one knee and continuing to look over the edge of the building, down on the parade below.
"Oh, please. Forget about her. Bringing up Blossom like that was unacceptable," Kuro-Yami responded, rolling his eyes with his arms crossed.
"I know...but...she was right," Hiroshi sighed. "That's not why I left. She was right. It was my fault. Blossom died because of me. I ruined a family because I was weak. The reason I left was because I know I'm better off by myself. I always was better alone."
The crowd continued to roar and shout out Schulz's name as loud as they could. Even though he was one hundred feet in the air, Hiroshi's ears were still defended by the noise.
"That's right everyone! Give it up for our hero! The one and only! The man that only gives back to the community and constantly gives funds to the poor! Touma Schulz!" A voice boomed from afar. Hiroshi knew that tone all too well.
Of course, Alexander was presenting again. Hiroshi was glad that the encounter with the Gods didn't distrupt his spirit. As passionate as always. At least that was something to smile about.
The hero took the microphone that Alexander handed to him. He cleared his throat and looked directly ahead, his eyes lost in the sheer amount of parade floaties.
"Everyone!" He boomed into the microphone, holding it tightly. "Thank you for supporting me! I love everybody, no matter race, gender, age or anything like that! You mean the world to me!"
He extended his arms out horizontally, as if giving the crowd a massive air hug. They went wild once more. The woman in the leaf and vine clothing gave a wide smile, and Grant did the same. What a faker.
Why did Wisteria, a kind hearted soul, have to live in poverty after getting beaten by him physically and emotional, but he could live a lap of luxury in the capital? It was so unfair.
Then again, was Wisteria so kind hearted? She was definitely hiding something from him in the emotional department. Was she in love him?
No. She said herself it wasn't. It couldn't be.
Hiroshi focused once more. This man claimed to be a hero. Yet, he was promising too much. Being too kind. When something sounded like it was too good to be true, it usually was.
"I will go to search for the Love Crystal! Just like the Witch of One Wish and the God of Light, it seems to be only but a myth! I will claim it and use it's power to become stronger and protect you all!" He exclaimed with a big smile, and the crowd cheered once more.
"I believe in you, Mr. Schulz!"
"We love you!"
"Be our protecter forever, Touma Schulz!"
Hiroshi only grew more suspicious. He had fought the Gods before. Well, Kuro-Yami had. He knew just for presence alone that this guy would also be no match for them. So, what was this fascination with protecting the people, if the Gods were around?
Maybe he just wanted to give his own to the community?
No.
Hiroshi knew that smile. He had used it for years. Fake. All fake. He needed to kill him, and claim it. That way, the whole world would know him, and the Gods would know that he wouldn't stop until he killed every single one of them.
He knew it. He was much better at hurting people than saving them.
"We will have drones following us the whole journey, tracking our progress and the adventures we get up to!" Schulz announced, and the crowd wooed in unison. Hiroshi smirked. What an idiot. Just making his job so much easier.
The world was soon going to know the monster that was Hiroshi Akuma.
"Alongside me during this treacherous journey is my trusty companions, Eve and Grant!" He announced loudly, and the crowd cheered once more. "Eve's Vine Magic often helps makes bandages on the fly, so she can heal our injuries! Isn't that cool!?"
The red haired woman, presumably Eve, did an air kiss to the crowd, who were only jumping for joy and eager for more.
"Grant's Rust Magic is great for disarming enemies, however, he can also freeze them in place! A very versatile power indeed!" Schulz boomed, and Grant gave a smile and a wave. It took all of Hiroshi's willpower not to attack them right then and there.
Schulz gave the microphone back to Alexander and gave him a comforting smile. Then, in almost perfect harmony, the three so called 'heroes' began to levatate a few feet off the ground. Hiroshi cursed himself. Of course they could fly. This wasn't going to be an easy fight.
They flew up into the sky. The force of the take-off was so powerful, it left a sound wave, defeaning some of the crowd. They didn't seem to mind, and cheered as they left. Hiroshi noticed the drones, flying overhead.
"Kuro-Yami, now," he instructed, and his friend took over his legs and flew vertically up. They went very high, almost to the level of the clouds, and the drones followed closely behind. Hiroshi flew slightly over the drones and into the clouds to remain undetected.
"I will lie in wait for them. Just as they are about to claim the Love Crystal, I will kill them and make my statement to the world," Hiroshi muttered, grinning from ear to ear.
"The most hated and feared man in the world. That will be me."
Kuro-Yami was more than happy to agree with that statement.
