Things got worse.

"Chin up girl." Says Sheriff Boman.

I give him a questionable look.

"He will be ran out of town by them and won't bug you. If he does come back. Give me a call." He slides his card across the counter top.

"T-thanks." I say taking it.

The girls start cleaning up the mess the boys made of the place.

"Come on Katie lets get these tables wiped down. There's still work to be done." Becca says clearing tables.

"R-right." My mind is blank. My body starts moving on autopilot.

"How did you end up with that thing the guys dragged out?" Asks Milly.

"I um." My mind was blank but now memories of working multiple jobs and being hit if I didn't do what was asked of me come back. The first time I saw him kick Jax was the day I ran away. Anxiety starts to take over. "He found me."

"Oh hunny! It's alright. The whole town is on your side. Alright?" Milly says wrapping me in a hug.

I begin to cry. The cries turn into sobs with everything that happened today. I want to hug Jax but he is hurt from something I did. I almost lost him. Then Billy shows up. Tate punched him. Oh geez Tate punched him.

"Kevin called. Jax is ready to go home. I texted Butch to tell him to bring your car back. You good to drive?" Becca asks.

My tears dry up a little and I nod.

"Good, we will finish up here. I counted up tips and cashed you out if that's alright?" Becca adds.

I nod. They hand me my things and told me to call or text if I needed them. I thank them before leaving to get Jax.

I finally get my boy home. After a short walk, I curl up with him in bed and we fall asleep after our long hard day.

I wake to a dark room with Jax growling.

"What is it?" I ask him looking around.

Jax leaps from the bed running to the other room. Next thing I know he is howling up a storm. When did he learn to howl? I get up and stand in my bedroom doorway. I'm frozen in fear.

"Shut up you mangy dog!" Billy shouts.

Jax whimpers then scurries past me diving under the bed. I shut my door as fast as I can but Billy is there stopping the door from closing.

"The lady from the insurance was so kind to give me your address for my car you took off with." He hisses through the crack of the door.

Billy pushes the door open and I stumble back. No. Not again. The dim light let's me see his nasty grin. He grabs me and throws me to the bed. I try to push him off but I can't move his weight.

A deep growl vibrates through the house. A blonde colored wolf is standing behind Billy. He screams as the wolf drags him from the house. Jax barks from under the bed. I leap up shutting my bedroom door. My heart is ready to give out.

What do I do? The card! Where is the sheriff's card? I'm going to sound crazy but I know what I saw! I'm shaking as I'm dialing the number. The rings drone on.

"Hello." Says Boman.

"Sheriff! B-billy c-came to my house and t-this wolf! T-this wolf was in my house!" I sound like a mad woman.

"Calm down! I'm on my way! Where are you?" He asks.

"I'm locked in my bedroom." I reply.

"Stay there, do not leave that room. I'll be there in 10 minutes." He hangs up. I hold onto Jax as I wait.

Soon I hear sirens and see the flashing lights. Footsteps sound through my house.

"Katie?" Boman calls out.

"I'm in here!" I yell back.

"You're safe. No one's here."

I slowly come out and Jax walks around sitting next to people asking for pettings. Boman takes my statement while the others are searching around the property. Tate bursts into my house. Shirtless for what ever reason.

"Are you okay?" He asks grabbing my face. His facial expression is beyond concerned.

"Y-yea." I say.

"Well I'm going to go see what a light colored wolf did with our perp, Tate." Says Boman.

"Good luck finding him Sheriff." Says Tate before Sheriff Boman leaves.

"Why are you here?" I ask looking away from Tate.

He let's out a sigh. "I should tell you the truth but please, keep an open mind."

Jax gets excited when Tate sits on the ground. In a blur his appearance turns into a light colored wolf. The same wolf I saw drag Billy out of the house. I'm frozen in shock. He shifts back. Jax prances around happy as can be.

"W-were... I'm seeing things I'm going to bed. This is a nightmare." I say to myself.

"Katie." Tate whispers. "The people in this town know what I am. Heck half the town's werewolves." 

"How is this real?" I ask.

"Long story short if you're a descendant of some guy then the white spirit wolf chooses you, you become a werewolf. It's pretty messed up but here I am." He says.

"So your uncle?" I ask.

"Wasn't chosen. I led him to you the night Jax ran off. Jax then told me everything you went through and it didn't sit right with me."

"You understand Jax?"

"Yea I can talk to them."

"What did you do to Billy?" 

"Can we leave it at he will never hurt you or Jax again?" He looks at me with kind eyes. "This is a bit sudden but Jax has been begging for me to be his new dad."

He pretty much just told me he murdered my ex and wants me to be okay with that. Screw it, Jax likes him.

"Yea you can be his new dad." I tell the excited dogs.

That's the beginning of how Tate and I started dating thanks to a full moon.
