Chapter 3:

Chapter Three: A little revenge

So I'm evil. Your point?

I'm trying to think of some good targets for me to hit. I feel like doing petty crimes would take too long, so I might as well embrace the evil side and smack someone a few times with my baseball bat. Hitting a random person would feel kind of wrong, but If I hit someone who deserves it, then I am killing two birds with one bat. Now that I think about it, my manager was a pervert who tried to seduce all of the female staff. Yeah, that old lonely perv will be an easy target. Let's try this tracking power out. I open the menu and hit track, and a prompt opens up asking me to select a target or input a name. Crap, who would have thought that my habit of forgetting people's names and giving them a nickname would backfire on me. Well, I guess I have to go meet him in person then.

I walk into the cafe that I used to work at. It was not busy around this time, so there were only a few customers and staff. My manager sees me and walks over to me. "You're late again! My office now!" I followed him to his office and sat on the sofa there. "Kurumi, Since you are always late and have a terrible attitude towards our customers. I'm not going to give you your paycheck unless you work overtime today as well as tomorrow." Yup, that's my manager for you. I wonder how mad he would be if he knew he could make easy money by being evil. "Kurumi, are you paying attention!" "Nope!" He gets mad and slams his hand on the desk. "Well, if you want to keep your job here, then you will have to do something else." He then gave me a wink, and my body chills in disgust. Yeah, I think I heard enough from this pathetic guy. I turn on my battle form and grab the bat from my storage. "Kurumi... What are you doing?" He starts to panic and slowly backs away from me. Wait, should I be doing this? After all, I am about to commit a serious crime. The hell with it. Evil does what evil does, and this guy kind of deserves it. I wind up my swing. "Wait... Please..." *Smack* I hit him in the head, and he falls over, knocked out.

*Ding* I wonder how many points I got. I opened the message that appeared, and it said that I got a hundred points. Wow, those bears only got me twenty. Hmm.. I wonder how much I would get if I finished him off? I walk over to him and bring the bat over my head. "STOPPPP!!!!" A creepy bear holding a phone appeared next to me. "Killing people is going too far!" The voice was coming from the phone the bear was holding. I pick up the phone. "Why? aren't we evil?" "Yes.. but if you kill someone, then The Light One will come and personally deal with you. In fact, assaulting someone like you just did is already crossing the line." "Well, how else am I supposed to get points?" "By stealing, harassing people, and attacking magical girls. JUST NOT KILLING PEOPLE!!" "Magical girls?" "Magical girls are members of The Light One, and they get points by doing good things." "So, I can't attack random people, but I can attack magical girls?" She let out a sigh. "Why are you so violent?" "Because it's easier to hit things with a bat than to be some evil genius." She let out another sigh. "I'm starting to question why I picked you." "Easy. It's because I'm a knockout." There was a long pause, then a large smacking sound from the phone. "What didn't like that one? I'll try batter next time." *click.* Wow, she hung up the phone.

Well, I might as well get some points out of this. I pick up the bear and toss it up in the air. *Squeak* *Crash.* I hit the bear so hard that it flew through the window and smashed it into pieces. Wow, that strength skill is amazing. I should add more points to it. *Ding* Oh, I got seven points for that. Five for destroying the bear and two for vandalizing. Vandalizing... Well, this room does have a bunch of breakable things. *Smash* *Crash* *Bang* I took a few minutes to break most of the things in this room, and I got thirty points for it. Well, if I can't assault people, then I could at least break everything they own. My manager starts the grumble. I should probably leave before the cops show up. I hop out the broken window and run down the alley.

I stop and hide for a little bit near the end of the alley. Wow, I worked up a sweat. I should add stamina and agility to the skills I need. Well, I might as well spend some of my points on new skills and powers. I opened the menu and took a look at the skills section. Might as well add stamina, agility, some more strength, and maybe a little more speed. With those skills acquired, I still have around sixty points to spend. Hmmm... I could use it for rent, but... More powers do seem nice. The problem with the powers is I can't find a good use for them. Most of them cost a ton of points, and I don't see a point if I don't find them useful.

Like, what the hell am I going to use ice magic for? Well, I guess I could use it to open a shaved ice stall, but that seems like way too much work. Hmm... I keep scrolling through the list, but in the end, I just end up spending it on more strength and stamina. "St..ttt...ooo.ppp right there evil... one" I turn around to see a little... shrine maiden? She has long black hair, a fox mask that covers her eyes, and some weird ritual staff. She points her finger at me, but because of our height difference, she has to point slightly up at me. She was practically shaking as she ordered me to stop.

"Who are you?" "I'm... I'm..." She looks so scared that I almost feel bad for her. Almost... "Don't... try.. to trick me, evil one. I'm here to stop you in the name of The Light One. I started to clap. "Nice, you got through that one without stopping." She blushed and tried to hide her face. "You kind of cute, shorty. Too bad I'm not into kids." Her face turned a bright red, and she started to pout. "I'm not a kid!!" As she said that, some magic came from her staff towards me. I stepped to the side, and it hit the wall behind me, destroying some concrete. "So, do you lose points for vandalizing property?" She panics and starts throwing more magical attacks at me. Luckily, her aim was bad, so they mostly just damaged the wall behind me. "Hey, you know it's my job to break things, right." She keeps firing magic at me. Well, I don't like the idea of beating up some kid, but this is self-defense. I grab the bat out of my storage and take a good swing at her. She gets sent flying into the wall and leaves an imprint of herself on the wall. Whoops, I may have hit her a little too hard.

I walked over to where she was lying, and then, suddenly, her shrine maiden outfit changed into a school uniform. *Ding* A message appeared saying I beat a magical girl in a fight, and I got two hundred points for doing so. Wow, that's more than I got from hitting my manager. "Good, you defeated your first magical girl." A creepy bear said. "Evil deeds against magical girls give you bonus points. So do whatever you want to her." The bear gave a creepy smile and started to drool. Without even thinking, I kicked the bear up into the air and smacked it with my bat. *Squeak* The bear sailed so far that it disappeared into the horizon. "Sweet, I got a home run." Looking back at the passed-out magical girl, I consider doing something to her, but I already feel bad about beating up a kid. Plus, I don't want to end up on a list, but I could use some more points. Hmmm... Oh, I know exactly what to do.

I was walking back home when I got a phone call. I picked it up to see The Evil One on the caller ID. "Hello," I answer. "So, remember when the bear said you get bonus points for magical girls?" "Yes." "And how you should do whatever you want to her?" "Yes." "Then you want to tell me why. The only thing you did was steal her shoes?!!" "Well, because it's evil. Now she has to walk all the way home with no shoes." I heard a loud smack on the other end of the phone. "What? You told me to do whatever I want. Well, now that I think about it. Stealing her shoes was kind of dumb." "YES IT WAS!" "Yeah, her shoes are too small for me." I heard another loud smack on the other side of the phone. She's going to leave a mark on her forehead. "Oh, I know what to do with them." "And what would that be?" She says with a dejected voice. I tie the shoe laces together and toss them up onto a cable line. The shoes dangle for the line. "Just... why?" "What did that cross the line?" *Click* Oh, she hung up on me again. Oh well, it's time to go pay my rent.
